Thanks for the responses on availability, they have been quite helpful. Does anyone have more information on the availability at the resorts in the Disney (Cruise, DL, GF,Poly) or Concierge collections?

How good are the discounts on these rooms? I called up the Plaza and the Shelbourne at Murray Hill the other day and their cheapest rooms were $504 and $275, per night respectively?

We have always been able to snag hotel rooms using points and have stayed at the poly, and the GF....we would never have spent the $$$ there without the points.
We don't always get our first choice (and we generally go in Jan-feb), but it is a great way to try all the deluxe resorts.

Just to clarify- there are no cash discounts available at those resorts-but DVC members may stay there on points. There are sometimes discounts (25%) on DVC resort stay- subject to availability, but no cash discounts at other resorts. Enjoy!
