More POR questions?

After changing my mind a thousand times about where to stay for our October trip I think I have finally decided on POR for the first 3 nights and Poly for the last 5. It was going to be AKL and Poly but going with the cheaper rate at POR I was able to add another day to the Poly part of our trip. So anyway my question is this: Do all Alligator Bayou rooms have the trundle? I don't need it but I do think I like the theming of those rooms and don't want to have to pay for the trundle. Maybe I should just stay at POFQ, my mom says she likes New Orleans and maybe FQ will feel more like the real thing. But then again the landscaping and river at POR look beautiful. See, I have decision making deficit disorder! HELP!

You don't pay for the trundle unless you actually use it. I've stayed in Alligator Bayou twice, both times in a room with a trundle, but we're all adults and don't need, so they didn't charge for it.

I love POR. It's my favorite resort. I wouldn't even switch to the POLY!

Thanks for the info Beth! Have you stayed at POFQ too or just POR. I'd love your opinion on which resort is best and which section of POR (mansions or AB) is your favorite!

I can't answer about POFQ but I just love the mansions. I enjoy feeling like a "southern belle".:p Honestly though the whole resort is absolutely beautiful!

That is what we did on our last stay this last Dec. Three nites at POR AB bldg. 14 then onto Poly for 4 nites. The Poly is our favorite but we had never stayed at POR and wanted to try it. I think it is one of the best moderates on WDW property. We requested bldg. 14 due to its proximity to the main bldg. It worked fine for us but if we do it again, we decided we will try and get a bldg. not quite so close. Its back to just the two of us again so no kids in tow for now. The bldg. next to 14 are still close but seem to be more in the woods and present a more quite and relaxed feel for no more than maybe an extra minute or two walk. Hope you enjoy..smjj.

We are from Baton Rouge and we just think that the POFQ is just a good reminder of a "clean" New Orleans. It's great because it is a small resort and basically you are close to everything.

We have stayed at the POFQ 3 times over the last 10 years and we like more everytime we stay there.

We have stayed at all of the moderates. POR is our absolute favorite. It feels like our second home.
Now we have discussed the possiblity of staying at a different resort this year...but that conversation lasted 2 seconds.

POFQ (its just our opinion) felt very cramped. Riverside is so wide open and airy.

If you want to be close to the food court, the selection of your room location will be important. If you don't mind walking, any mansion building will do. But Parterre Place is right next to a bridge...and right over the bridge is the main lobby and the entrance to the food court and River Roost.

We have stayed in both the Mansions and AB.. we prefer AB section. Much shorter walk to everything. If you are a smoker, make sure you request a smoking building.

We have stayed in AB #14 & #15. But last summer we ran into a couple who was staying all the way in the back..I want to say AB #35....they loved it. The said the walk was very peaceful.

Do try to see Bob Jackson in the lounge....you don't have to be drinkers to enjoy his show. Its a HOOT !!!

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond!! I was looking at pictures on wdwig.com and just can't decide between AB and the mansions. I like the theming of the AB rooms but the exterior of the mansions is beautiful but I guess we don't have to stay in the mansions to appreciate them.

I forgot to include this link in my previous post. It is one of the best around for viewing the different resorts. It has a map and plenty of pictures of POR. Hope you enjoy..smjj
