I agree because no matter what the Boardwalk is always going to be considered a WDW Resort and it's security will be treated like one. I also see why some people consider it a mini version of Downtown Disney based on the things they offer which other WDW Resorts don't have, however that's no excuse for others to say it's a destination and should be treated like one.Differ all you want, but....I own at BWV and have been staying there at least twice a year since '03, sometimes more often than that. Yes, people go to JR's for more than a few hours. But Atlantic Dance Club??? Seriously?? Very few people are heading in there. In fact, many complain about it and want it made into something better...maybe an Adventurer's Club type venue. And Big River??? Again, seriously?? That's just not the kind of place you see people sitting around at for hours. You may get folks sitting around ESPN, watching a game, but it's not going to all that many people.
People heading over to the Swan should be parking at the Swan. But yeah, they charge you to park there, so of course you are going to park at BW.
In all reality, while some seem to think that the Boardwalk is a mini-DTD, it truly isn't. If Disney intended that to be the case, they would make it easier to get to. I mean, in all reality....do you think that Disney intends it to be a mini-DTD just for those driving??? Or paying to use cabs??? It is difficult to get to and from BW...especially late at night
Believe me I feel the exact same way because there has been the odd time when we drove around the main self parking lot a few times looking for a spot when they were very busy.goofy4tink said:Ahhh, but you didn't seem to feel that way when people were parking at the CR and walking over to MK. You were very upset about that. It should be the exact same thing. But, that's the issue, isn't it. Disney 'says' one thing, but CMs (Disney or contracted) says something else.
The only difference I see is this. If the people who visit the Boardwalk park in either one of their distant self parking lots and go to Epcot or Hollywood Studios it won't effect us since we never park in them and why would we. So it's just like those who Valet Park and visit the parks. Plus the Contemporary doesn't have any distant self parking lots meant for those just going there to eat and look around.
