We'll be doing a split stay during our time at the DHR this March/April. Any thoughts on your stays at the Hilton Anaheim (.75 miles) and The Embassy Suites South (1.4 miles)? I think we can walk from the Hilton and take ART from the ES.

I am so sad we are out of DVC points but after looking at both of these, I think they'll be ok.

:thanks: and :goodvibes

We have stayed at another hotel next to the Hilton. Walking distance isn't too bad in the morning and if you are tired at night you can ride the Toy Story Tram from the park entrance to the parking lot. A walk from the parking lot to your hotel is quite a bit shorter.

I quite like the Hilton, and yes it's walkable.

Then again I feel that the Hilton Garden Inn is walkable, while most people don't. :)

But really, the Hilton Anaheim is a short distance away from the main entrance.

So take the Toy Story tram to what parking lot? Sorry, it's been a few years since I've navigated offsite. Feels like a whole new world. LOL!

Thanks! We haven't stayed at that one but I like traditional Hiltons in general. .75 seems walkable. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in 2009 and I can't recall if we ever walked but I do remember taking ART which was pretty painless.

I am glad not to see any harsh reviews. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Embassy Suites South over Thanksgiving, and we really liked it. It was just DH and me, so I can't speak in terms of family, but we really liked it. The room was clean, spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the morning breakfast was very nice. The shuttle was on-time. I don't think I would walk that far, so I would say you need to drive or take the shuttle ($5 a day for a pass). The only bad thing I could say is about the on-site restaurant - and it wasn't that big of a deal to us. We had a late dinner one night there, and the service was very slow and the meal was just ok - totally not worth the price. But really, that was the only thing and it wasn't even that bad. I think when we go back we will stay there again (if we stay off site). We have stayed at the Candy Cane Inn, HoJo, and Embassy Suites South, and like the ESS best.

Take the TS tram to the TS parking lot, then walk across Harbor on Convention Way to the Hilton.

We like the Hilton. Nice staff, small food court, Starbucks in the lobby. It can get busy/crowded in the lobby if there is a convention going on, but otherwise it is fine.

:thanks: Does the ES have their own shuttle or did you use ART? We have stayed at the Hojo too, Fairfield Inn, and Hilton Garden Inn. ES are usually pretty good and you can't beat their breakfast and cocktail hour. :thumbsup2

Starbucks in the lobby? SOLD! :woohoo: And a small food court is nice to have too. I'll have to check the convention schedule; not that it matters for the rate I got. $94 isn't bad. It's the $16 a day parking that bites. :crazy2:

Thanks for filling me on how to maneuver the tram. :thumbsup2 I always need a visual and that helped.
