More Newbie US/IOA Questions

Have been doing some reading here and on the US/IOA site re: rides, tickets, etc., but have a few questions.

Thinking of going to US Sun. 4/15 and IOA Mon. 4/16, right after Easter week. Express pass price drops on those days to $25.99. Does that mean it will be less crowded? Is that a good indication that it's a good day to go? Or should we get the Express Passes anyway just to make sure we see everything?

We are going to US because we haven't been in a long time (since before DD9 was born) and it seemed like there were more rides she'd do there. IOA looks like a lot of thrill rides and water rides, which I'm not sure about, but the whole point of going there is for WWOHP which she can't wait for. Since Express Pass can't be used on Forbidden Journey, is it a waste? She'll only go on things as tame as or tamer than Space Mtn. (She swears she's going to try Rock'n'Roller coaster but I'll believe it when I see it.) I don't think Hulk and Dragon Coasters will be for her. Will there be enough to do there?

Will be staying DVC at Disney so staying in US hotel not an option to get free FOTL access. Does that mean we'll spend the day in lines if we don't buy Express Pass?

Sorry so many questions...hard to plan something new like this!

if the epp is going to cost $25.99 that would be an indicator of a low crowd day.

which means you won 't be spending forever in a line for a ride.



you can use the single rider lines to expedite your line wait.

many families do use that.


the express lines are not called FOTL access.
just expresss line.

Forbidden Journey is definitely not a waste - if your DD loves Harry Potter it's something to experience at least once. And the Hippogryff in WWOHP and the Woody Woodpecker ride in US are terrific coasters for those who're good with Space Mountain or Big Thunder, too.

I think the OP was asking if Express Pass is a waste because it doesn't include FJ, not if FJ itself was a waste.

OP, just make sure DD9 is 48" tall or she won't be able to ride. Probably not an issue, but thought I'd mention it.

And please do not purchase the Express Pass before you get there. It is non-refundable and date-specific. Wait to see the crowds for yourself before you make a decision. But like macraven implied, I doubt you'll need it.

Yes, that's exactly what I was asking. Probably wasn't clear. Thanks! Did not think about purchasing Express Pass after we get there--so we can buy tickets from AAA here at home and add Express Pass when we get there only if it's busy?

Yes, DD is at least 54" at least check, just a bit of a chicken...

Thanks for all the info. We're definitely going to try a day in each park and see if there's enough to do... WWOHP will be the highlight!
