Didn't get a box this time because they were out of Tink's headpiece and I didn't want to fill a box without it, but there were new pieces since September:

1. Goofy hat - hat shaped like Goofy's head (just like the new Donald head hat)
2. Mickey Mouse doll

I'm hoping that they'll have Tink's hair by January 06 since that's when I'll be going back.

Note: didn't see any spud troopers anywhere, not even at Star Traders. Plenty of Darth Taters though. There were also surfer dude MPH, alien & astronaut MPHs (these come in separate boxes)

I also went to the Character Premiere Outlet at Orlando Premium Outlets and found the yellow poncho that's regular $5 marked down to $1.99! :cheer2: They had plenty of them, so if you're going soon you might want to check it out.

No tink hair!!! OH man that's gonna suck. Hopefully they'll have more by the end of the month.

Just wanted to drop in and say that I just returned and found Tink's hair, her slippers, and her wand at DTD last week.

I got tink's hair when I was there in early October - it was from Once upon a toy

I must've come in to Once Upon a Toy on a bad day, then. I was there on Oct 30th and they had tons of Tink's shoes and wings, but no hairs. The CM even went and checked the bags behind the counter and nothing. :( Oh, well... just another excuse for me to load up in January! :teeth:

Is there a list somewhere of all the possible pieces?
We went in Dec02 & this has been 1 of our favourite souvenirs. But I did think we had been there, done that. We don't have any Tink things though. So sounds like others may have been added to the line-up since then.

I would love to start this for my DD who will be 17 months old when we go in Jan. Do you think she will be too young? How small are the parts? How do I get started? Thanks

CampingGriswalds: there are some parts that could be a choking hazard like the nose, eyes, arms, ears. But other pieces are quite big she'll need her whole hands to hold them.
As long as you really pay attention and watch her while she's playing with it, it is a lot of fun and she can learn to put the pieces on the potato.

CdnMom2: BBGirl had posted a list a while back. Here's the link to it: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=10244348&postcount=8

oogieboogie: Thank you for that link. Oh my goodness, we have some more saving to do.

camping griswalds: Yes, get the Potato Heads & do watch for the smaller pieces. Get them anyway, but put away to introduce later to extend play value. We have 2 18month olds here who LOVE this play set I bought for our girls 3 years ago. Now that's value in a toy. "Eyes", "Ears", "Shoes", etc. We already had the basic figures themselves. Stocked up on the special WDW ones when down there. I LOVE leaving 1 all set-up with WDW sorceror's hat, autograph book, Mickey bar, etc. on Playroom shelf at end of day. Puts a smile on my face at end of The Big Clean Up & again the next morning when reentering. I suggest buying a few extra arms -- the kind that will hold the stuff -- normal Potato Head arms don't & if you lose these arms it isn't as much fun! Yup, favourite souvenir (besides our photos). :p

Well can I buy her one here at home and just get the Disney parts in Disney? If I remember there is some place that you can fill a box for a certain amount? Can you still do this? What does it cost/ I would like to use it as someone suggested..."eyes" "Nose" "lips" etc Of course no way would I or could I pass up something princess like!!! Oh yeah, what do the parts cost run approx? Is the base, the head, more at Disney than at home?

Definately buy the head at home -they are about $5 and I think at disney they are around $10

here is a tip I learned on my last trip - you can not buy individual pieces - but if you buy the box and can't fit everything in - you can pay for pieces that do not fit - so I did not put in tinks hair or the buzz lightyear car and just paid $2 each for them! then I was able to get a lot more stuff in my box - those two pieces alone just about fill up the box!!!

Just read the list more closely. Wow! To think I almost missed this. :earseek: Thanks for posting oogieboogie. I probably wouldn't have seen the older post and wouldn't have thought to Search about it. Should have known Disney better -- always a better way to suck more money out of me! :rotfl:

Is it hit or miss whether these will be stocked? Are some, like the older years' releases, just not available in store now?

And are they still at Once Upon a Toy in Dtn Disney or are the pieces sold at other stores too now? Is the poncho you mention a Potato Head piece and then is at one of the Outlet stores? Yippee!

OK, calm down, breathe... Yeah, it's a toy for my daughters, uh huh, really... :earboy2:

Hee, hee, hee - I know just where you're coming from! I love my Mr. Potatohead - he lives in a lovely basket on my coffeetable in the living room. And soon, he will have many new toys to play with . . .

This is a perfect example of why WDW brings out the child in all of us!

Arggggg!!!! Didn't know that one... We just got back - why didn't this get posted 2 weeks ago!!! We passed on a couple of the big items because we couldn't justify a 2nd box that would only fit those 2 things!!!

Bummer!!! But we did get a bunch of new stuff .... so I guess I can't complain too much.

They still have the older releases, although when I went last weekend I didn't see the fireman's hat and the mickey ears hat. Once Upon a Toy is going to have the complete parts but the other places will have some of them.

The other places that I know you can get them is at Pop Century, ToonTown's Hall of Fame, MGM's 5and10 store.

The poncho is separately sold for $5 as is the Dumbo ride base. The poncho is bright yellow and fits over MPH with holes for his face and arms. It's the same one I saw at the Character Premiere Outlet at Orlando Premium Outlets last weekend marked down to $1.99.

The only thing that WDW doesn't have are the NYC pieces, except for the Statue of Liberty headpiece, the SOL torch, pretzel, and mickey pepperoni pizza.

So how much is the box? And you can fill it with as many pieces as can fit, and the overflow are a couple of bucks more? This is at once upon a Toy right? That's in Downtown Disney? Are there any "princess" pieces?

Come on January, my Princess needs this!!

The box is $18 and you fill it up with as many pieces as will fit as long as the box can still close. Sometimes you get stickler CMs that insist it has to be latched closed, sometimes you get CMs that just say oh... the tops touch, ok that'll do.

The girl parts are cinderella slippers, glass slipper on a pillow, princess hat with veil, ariel's fish base, ariel's hair, princess crown with jewels, tink's star wand, tink's hairpiece, tink's shoes, earrings, girl lips, minnie's polka dot bow, minnie's vintage hat, bride mickey ears hat.

They also sell parts at Chester and Hester's in AK. Not sure what they had there though, I was more interested in the MLP boxes.

Are any of these parts available at DL?? Didn't see them there in Oct, but I didn't think about it either!
