More free covid tests by mail

I ordered my second set on Friday, they came today. We got I-Health both times, and if there is an expiration date, I sure can't find it. Got them as a quick test option, to see if a more comprehensive test is needed. Those are free and easy to get here on a walk in basis.

Ours are I-Health

There they are. 7-14-22 on two kits, 8-4-22 on the other two. I was looking for an embossed date on the box like many other medical products have, not printed.

I was surprised to receive a 5-pack! The first set was ordered mid-January and arrived maybe a couple of weeks ago. The second set I just ordered on Friday and it arrived yesterday. Same type of kit both times - a 5-pack by Siemens Healthineers. Never seen that type before; we've mostly used BinaxNow or Quidel QuickVue.

I got my second set about 3 days after I ordered it. Much better delivery than the first round.

Our first set took about 5 weeks to arrive, an orange box with 5 tests. Second set took about 5 days, 4 Binax Now tests.

The government has just made another round of free tests available for anyone who needs them.

Thanks- I hadn’t heard this yet. We recently had colds and burned thru a bunch of our tests. I was just saying after testing my dd yesterday that I would probably need to get a few more to keep on hand. Good timing with this.

I ordered ours when they first became available and they had an August 2022 expiration. We had to use 2 of them already so I ordered another 4 when we could and they all have the same expiration so they’ll most likely get thrown out.

The first batch took weeks and they expire in July. I ordered second batch thinking a few weeks to ship. I got them in under a week. Expire in Dec.

We got one box with 5 tests.

We just used most of ours up when we caught it last month, so this is nice timing. I'm going to wait to order until I get back from vacation, though. Don't need them just sitting at the post office for weeks.

I had an arsenal of tests because I got a lot from our county for free and then some from the USPS. I figured once someone got COVID in the house, we'd go through a lot and I was right about that. Anyway, I will say that the USPS tests did give me a false negative. I was symptomatic and tested positive with the FlowFlex brand (which is one of the best for Omicron) and negative with the Roche brand that I had. My tests also, to my knowledge, were not affected by extreme weather as I got them in when the weather had been good for several weeks. However, who really knows how they were cared for in the staging facility.
