Sorry, if you guys are tired of these. I searched through the threads, but didn't find the answers to my questions.

1. How much does the internet access cost in the cabanas? (I know we would need to bring our own laptop.) I'm really hoping for a down day, since we'll be at HRH 5 nights. Our DS(14) hates getting even a little sun burned, therefore isn't really into a lot of pool time. For him, it's all about the parks. Anyway, if he could spend some time under shade, while surfing the net, I may be able to convince him a pool day will be fun.

2. This is the biggie. The last time we rented a cabana at HRH, we returned to find ants crawling all over the fruits, fridge, table, etc. Not a pleasant site. It was like we were back on The Mummy again, but this wasn't fun. :scared1: Because of that experience, my DH isn't crazy about the idea of renting another one. Has anyone else had ant problems in their cabanas? Is this common? BTW, we live in FL & know all about the bug problems. We also know that we can enjoy food outdoors at home w/o having to deal with ants crawling all over everything.

3. Last question for now... We're going the end of July. I'm not sure what the availability is like at this point, but which cabanas are best to try for 1st? We wouldn't necessarily need a themed one, unless they're the only ones with internet connections. FYI, we won't be there on a Fri. or Sat. night, so the movie won't be a factor.

Thanks in advance for any help/ advice you can provide.
:thanks:

Unless something has changed, I don't believe you can get internet access in the cabana's. A couple of years ago, I was told we could by staff only to find out that was not true. There was a problem with the phones dialing out long distance in the cabanas and not being able to track or charge people for those calls, so the cabana phones only work for hotel to hotel calls now. They actually gave me that cabana for free after I complained with my laptop in hand.

This March, we had cabana 10 for 2 days and I don't believe anything had changed. There are no extra outlets to plug your laptop into, and the phone appeared to be the same. I bring a Sprint card for my laptop now which works pretty well, and a outlet splitter so I can plug in with the television and fridge.

We have had the ant problem in the past also, but we are careful not to leave food out on the table now and have not had any problems. Try to stuff your fruit in the fridge until you eat it and you should be good.

Also, we like cabana's 1 or 2 if we don't get a themed one. They are close to the restrooms, arcade, and bar.

Thanks for your honest replies. You've been very helpful. :) My DH & DS just may win this one. :guilty: I was kind of hoping noone else had experienced ant problems. I know what you mean about storing the fruit in the fridge. Unfortunately, they had delivered ours, before we were ready for the cabana. They left the bowl on the table, & by the time we arrived it was too late. To their credit, they did bring more, which I promptly stored away. Also, they returned to spray, after we specifically asked them to. The damage was already done by then, & my DH doesn't want to risk it a 2nd time. :(

For future reference, could you tell me more about using a Sprint card for your laptop? That sounds like a good option, but I'm clueless about using one. I think I'll call to reserve a cabana anyway. After all, I have 3 months to convince them it's a good idea. :teeth: I could always cancel, right? :rolleyes1
