More butterfly pics for those interested

A while back I posted my website where I have an ongoing journal for the butterflies we are raising. Just wanted to let those that have emailed me about it know that I've just updated it again. I'm trying to make it more user friendly, so if you go to www.pumpkinsandpets.com and scroll towards the bottom, you will see links to each individual page of the butterfly journal or you can link directly to my series shots, such as the new one from this morning, of a Giant Swallowtail caterpillar turning into a chrysalid.

We are having a blast raising these amazing creatures.

Well, a Monarch is in the chrysalid stage for about 9 days. Same time frame for the Gulf Fritillary. I've never raised Blacks and Giants before, so I'm not sure if they will be a little over a week also, or if they'll be different. I really hope I get some series shots of the Giants emerging and I still need the Black turning into the chrysalid and then emerging.

Thanks, ya'll. We really thoroughly enjoy raising butterflies. It's definitely not a normal thing, but they boys are learning so much about life and, unfortunately, sometimes death. How delicate the balance of nature can be. I'll let ya'll know when they emerge. Anxious to see them. Need to add a few pics to the journal of the Gulf Fritillary, before I released it, but they are not very good pics.
