I had just packed up my 87 copies of Catcher in the Rye. Now I suddenly feel compelled to go buy another one. Right after I invest in this great fractional vacation ownership program- I can own one tile on the St. Louis arch for up to 2 weeks a year!!!!! Imagine that! Owning a piece of the gateway to the west. Wow. I am sure glad I heard about this.

Good Morning.

Kinda late to be waking up a thread, isn't it?

Curse those Spurs, right UtahM?

Hey, at least the Jazz doesn't suck as much as the Pacers do. And Indiana is supposed to be known for basketball. Apparently we can only boast of our high school and college players.

At least our pro football team, ain't too bad.;)

Morning All,

It is hot today. But I am not complaining yet. Hubby still hasn't gotten around to getting that nest out of the air conditioner so I can't turn it on.

I will just have to go to the mall to get cool. :cool1:

I need a new bathing suit for the weekend. We are going to Great Wolfe Lodge. I have one but I have put on poundage...which isn't good if your not pregnant. So I thought I would get a new one. Besides the old one is 14 years old. Hardly used though. What I do for my family....

Twinkie -- you just bought real estate I think I would pass....

I have all my books in boxes too but they are just going out in the garage for our sale on Saturday. No Catcher in the Rye. I like scary books. Most have killing children in them..... Stephen King, John Saul....

My Mom just gave me a big box of books that we had when we were young. There was a Brady Bunch one in there  Lots of Nancy Drew hard cover ones that I am keeping in hopes Hannah might want to read them.

Ok, I wasn't going to post. I have some place to be in 15 minutes and it takes 20 minutes to get there. But, I just can't let this go. Nab? You have a bathing suit that is 14 years old? I soooo wish I was married to you.

Go and stop laughing WT....

I don't have a lot shoes either.

109-84 ONLY because some time in the 2nd quarter the spurs decided to slow down the slaughter. Here's what the Trib said about it, the shame of Utah...

We played bad, the whole game," guard Gordan Giricek said. "We didn't have it, and they were playing great."
The Jazz advanced further in the playoffs than anybody expected
after a poor finish in the regular season, but the worst elimination loss in their history felt like anything but a reason to celebrate. Nobody played well, coaches and players spent much of the game sitting stunned on the bench, and Carlos Boozer joined Deron Williams in questioning the heart of some of their teammates.
"There were some guys who was already on vacation, man," Williams said. "Point blank - on vacation, a long time ago. . . . I don't like bashing my teammates. I'm never going to call anybody out, individually. But as a team, we have some guys who need to figure some things out. Figure it out, if they want to be here."

It's kind of better watching the shame-filled interviews on the news. Some of the players are really nice to look at, however should NOT speak publicly. At all. :teacher:

On a better note Pooh-girl is NOT early today which is reeeeally nice. BUT, I noticed Pooh Mama wrote down her normal time!!!!!! :sad2: That's 30 minutes one day and 20ish minutes the day before she thought she'd NOT account for. Well, Pooh-Mama, whether you drop her off like a normal or decide to plop your buttocks on my couch to chat (when I could be sleeping), the timer starts when you ring the door bell.

ITA. Will is not as good as Jack. Will is so, so...wholesome. (for lack of a better word.) Give me the scoundrel pirate
What's ITA? I too agree? Icky toad algae? Idiotic tumbling avatars?

WT - Yay! I love the smell of a seizure first thing in the morning! :3dglasses

twinks - I really don't get your catcher in the rye post. I'm guessing it's sarcasm, but it confuses me. Maybe they have a support group for catcher in the rye addiction? :confused3

Where IS everyone today? Come on people, post! Make it worth my while to avoid work!

Kids came home from camping last night. Said Asseteague Island was fantastic- only bad thing were the piles of horse poop- Asseteague and Chincoteague Islands are home to the wild ponies- anyone read
Misty of Chincoteague?
Oldest came home sick . Youngest and I are off to the attorney's office- she needs to sign another authorization for them to deal with this id theft as the other one is a year old. Can't believe we've been dealing with this nightmare for a year !
I was out in the yard with the dogs ,trying to teach the pup to fetch and noticed something black in our pool:eek:  it was a dead squirrel:scared1: :scared1: . So I woke my husband up from his deep sleep and made him get it out and dispose of it.

Oh no Poly! Poor dead squirrel! I'm surprised your dog didn't try to get it.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
Ya know, I haven't bought a swimsuit since 2003 - it's now falling off of me. I guess I should buy one before the meep meet, especially if any of you are coming to swim at bonnet creek. Hmmm.

Nab? I vote you need a new one THIS year! Your last one is sullied.

Get a cool slenderizer hoisting model with classy sarong and matching flip-flops and big Jackie-O sunglasses and a wide brimmed sun hat with matching book bag and drink caddy. Throw in a colo(u)r-coordinated adult beverage with cabana boy of your choice and some GOOG friends who are equally stylish and sophisticated (except for that one who brings a big gulp) and notice the chagrin dorky group of DH's dusting out their wallets. :cool2:

HA!

HA!
Can this be our mission statement? I really like it.

That dang gubbermint (did I get it right that time, Twinks?) employee is GETTIN ON MY NERVES!
She told us yesterday that the numbers she gave us were per claim (and thus per patient). I just found out it's really per line item. Argh! Why do I have to verify other people's data?

 , tooo utahm., however, girl!, ...the jazz men have nuthing
to be sad about...they came out of no where....now, if their g.m.,
evulated why they lost...."defense"..or lack.....& make a few drafts,
the jazz will ..be back!....., * ha! you kill me --about giving the players
the "eye"...butty, shouldn't be heard?...you know..they should not be
happy after losing..though they had a great season...

* actually..i have never met john or carl..so the type of people they
are...is an unknown..except reading their stories in sports illustrated.

i read your kissing bandits..comments, :) ....have you ever seen
those spit buckets between boxing rds? well, i bet you 2 have
several....how much~ you said, :rolleyes1

c-girl, i was talking about sea sicknes..which i never heard about,
until that day,

...is the lil'miss loooking?..Go brutus!- i do like the buckeyes> brutus,
and their colors [scarlet & grey, loooks good on me...however, iam
not a die hard fan, of any team.] * when i lived in fla..i got stuck with
thee gators..cos my friends..already had miami & fla. state. but
since i  gators..that was a good match...& i like their colors too,
 ..they are IRISH colors. [ i also have 2 nieces who graduated
from osu besides my wife....i'm a bob~cat [ boy! they know how to party],
started in gatorland....life can be so funny?

wt...did you see the fla . president..wants a playoff..right?!!!, there's
more to that story then the bowl system...do you throw away traditions?
of course, fla. really was never part of...until the 90's...however, i don't
know what the answer is..but the way they are destroying it [football=
school/team spirits, to enrich the college students experiences], there
are things needing addressing... , not for money..but for the values
sports can do for the kids. wandering what these presidents are after?

ha! 41-14..you think? that would be a challenge? i do not base my evulation
on the point system..rather the pluses/minuses..on how they were acquired.
fla...did not win the national championship....by outplaying osu? the referees
lack of  judgments..or whatever...the reasons, decided the out
come..* ha, true story, when osu was winning 7-0, i saw what they were
doing,..i got up...told my wife, the game over--osu is going to lose..she &
the kids looked at me like i was crazy....i told them..this isn't even going to
be worth watching...i feel sorry for "fans" spending $10,000..i left the room.

sorry, ..i am alarmed how poor all the major bowls....games were.

one very unfair problem..is having the big ten "resting"....6-8 weeks
before playing teams...that just played the week before? southern cal
would been stomped to death..*if mich. had played , the week after osu.
to have your national contender off...2 mos..? then play fla..who played
2 games in between..is making the contest a joke.

......i was rooting for texas the year before...lucky ,they changed their
conferences format...into a minature playoff system,...*the only reason
osu/miami was an outstanding game...was because both came from
similar conference systems...* there 2 types, those with extended playoffs
and those deciding their conferences by games during the seasons. the
2 don't mixed...as those playing extra game..[esp. at this level]...obviously,
had an unfair advantage. however, i miss the old southwest conference.
:woohoo: ....( i follow several teams)

"traditions"...versus playoffs..versus scheduling...versus road/home games...
versus ratings ...versus $$$, versus students needs ? * i don't think no
team..should be permitted from outside its state...if they are to represent
the school [osu had alot of fla players versus ohio players on fla. :rolleyes1]

should fla. forfiet?....that's just emotional toss out....:lmao: . i am
saying, that was a very poor contest..& the winner was not decided
by the players....that is base on "mistakes", that made the final score
a joke. ..it's sad that our national champion had only one drive over
50 yards & that included one first down ..where the player crawled
10 yards..and the referee pluses the yardage....* college rule, if your
knee touch even if you're not, by the oposing team..you're down.
how do they feel?..scoring their second & third td, without crossing the
goal line?
*
do you remember when col. beat notre dame for a national championship?
sorry, colorado was not a national champion.....against missour, the
refeeres gave them 5, count them, 5 downs to scored the winning
touchdown.

* that actually happened during an ivy league game, turn of the century,
--that was also for the national championship game..and the referees
refused to correct their mistake... :confused3 . however, the
players on the winning team...decided they didn't win the game...and
forfiet it on their own...including the natinal championship. to me,
it is their actions....that they still should have been recognized as national
champions, [honorary ones]...

**
what's sad to me..how often does a small school put together a championship
team...it s awful that boise st. is not included....as for osu/fla ? my guess
the players really don't know who won..."i know i don't."

for sports to have real meanings , there 's need to be a corrective measures.
look at steriods & baseball...[however, i got to say..the detroit/st. louis
world series...was really a classic....because of the emotions displayed.]
*
who's the home run champion..shouldn't it be by a player career, based on
the numbers of home runs & the player who set it?....if that player
did it in 10 careers...[switched to football]..like jim brown's...then how can
another be recognized when it took 5 more seasons...if they did he math
right...then this factual data would be used. * lke the home runs per
season..and you add 30 games...how in the world would that be proving
anything? whoever, set a record based on an infinite numbers of seasons,
games and comparable circumstances....by math, should be used as the
offical standards....math? because all sports are decided by it...and
we all know that math. formula must be process the same way to
reach the same conculsions? that's my point~ w.t., but your offer of
emoitional support...was appriacted ..for the feelings behind it....hey!
i like the gophers..do you know they have won 5 national championships?
:teacher: & :thumbsup2

how bout them reds? :yay:

If a tree falls in the forest does it make a noise? If you have to explain a joke is it still funny? Was the joke funny in the first place?

These are the reasons I became a scientist. I am consumed by questions.

Frankly my dear Celery (fiddle dee dee! Now babynurse has me thinking like Gone with the Wind, which I have read in its entirety three times btw, a really goog book but goodness you want to drown Scarlett yourself before it is over) I wasn't merely implying but also insinuating that WT's much loved bling is there not to show his love for the Twins, or even to cause seizures (that is just a happy side effect) but is part of a more complex plot to brainwash us. The book reference is from the movie Conspiracy Theory.

That dang gubbermint (did I get it right that time, Twinks?)

yes! goog job!

Utah- you can have all my copies of Catcher in the Rye. I don't even like that book. A Separate Peace is a much better story.

how bout them reds? :yay:

Ahhh, Lil G. How 'bout them Reds? Who wouldn't love the Reds?:confused3

I've read GWTW, but only twice. You got me beat Twinkletoes. BUT, Scarlett so got on my nerves. Ashley sucked. Pick the scoundrel!!! You guys probably would have never guessed that would have been my choice.

When you posted about Catcher In the Rye, I immediately thought of the movie Conspiracy Theory, but then I'm wIerd like that. I didn't care for the book either. It does seem criminals always have a spare copy when they search their apartments though.

HEY!! Are you trying to tell us something Twink? Are you being held hostage out there on the prairie? Do we need to send in a rescue squad? Shall I drag you know who out of the attic? Do we need to call upon a real live hero to save the day?

OKO GANG. THIS IS IT... 13,000. Where's my costume party? I've got mine on right now. I'll post my pic after you guys do.

Thank fer explaining all that, Twinkie! I don't like Catcher in the Rye either. but I do like A seperate peace! It's so evile!
I never read Gone with the Wind. Sometimes Southern Pride leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I hate the racism associated with the confederate flag, the way people use it as a means to hurt others, so I just try my best to ignore that period in history.

Woo hooty to BabyN!!!
Here's what I wore last year (not as - slim - as this woman)

minnie.jpg

but it probably won't fit this year, so maybe I'll be this: (It's a virtual party, so I can dream, right?)

I was going to come in my new bathing suit but though I better not....:lmao:
