Good point, skim milk is not good for cooking. The rest of my family drink 1%.

Can't drink even 2% anymore.

I got my car washed today too even though we had light rain all day. But it wouldn't wash off the sea gull stuff....

So do you have to go to work tomorrow Marita? I remember you saying you might have too.

Hey, Moopies!

Yay, Nab's back!!! Guess where I talked my hubby into going? Frankenmuth!

We had a yummy dinner at Zehnder's. Chicken with all the trimmings. They have the best coleslaw. And chicken liver pate' (I just had a little).

I found a few things to buy as gifts. We also went to the outlet mall, but I didn't have any luck there.

And the best thing of all? The sun came out!!! So we did some cruisin' with the top down on the car. Moo Hooooo!!!!

MOO HOOO to the cruising, Moo!

Nab, not going to work tomorow, I think I can do what I need to from home.
Although DH didnt sound too enthused about it, LOL. Too bad!!

Moo you lucky girl you. I love the family style places there.

Was it busy there? I don't think I ever went when it wasn't.

It has been a busy weekend. We had great weather yesterday but today it rained off and on all day.

Church was a little over 2 hours. The Bishop was pretty funny though. He made the kids feel at ease. They were all scared of having to answer questions.

My neice who got Confirmed wanted to see Pirates so we stopped off before we went to dinner and got her a ticket for that night. She went with hubby and Nicholas. I stayed with my mom. We had the night to ourselves. That was so nice, haven't done that in a long time.

I'm heading off to bed.

We are always tired after visiting. Late nights , early mornings.

Tomorrow we have school, swimming lessons and then right to a baseball game. So I better rest up.....

It wasn't too busy in Frankenmuth, Nab, but we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated for dinner. We decided to do the buffet instead of family style so we could get exactly what we wanted to eat. But the buffet had everything on that they serve family style plus fried shrimp, carved beef and turkey, extra salads and veggies, and a dessert table (that I didn't visit). I did have a small dish of chocolate soft serve though, like they give you as part of the family dinners.

Glad your niece's confirmation went well and you got to spend some time with your mom.

Marita, that was nice that your DS washed your car. And :yay: for your mom going home soon!!

We saw a hat in one of the stores that said My Grandchild is a Dog. Hubby said too bad I don't wear that kind of hat :rotfl:

Happy Anniversary Pumba!!!!

Your evening does sound goog!

Hi Lil G! Welcome back Nab! Moohooty to Moo!

We have been so busy- thus I am exhausted and feeling very sick. I just have done too much this weekend. DH is being a darling husband and making some egg drop soup for me.

We got together yesterday with friends for an old fashioned chicken coop raising. :dance3: What you don't do that where you live? Welcome to Kansas. I didn't do any construction but sat on a swing and supervised the 13 children. I mainly organized the turns on the trampoline and helped the toddlers take their shoes on and off and on and off for turns to jump.

And as soon as we got home from a day outside in the mud with chickens and kittens and dogs and many kids... I took the girls to a wedding.

If you ever want a wonderful evening take two 5 year old girls to their first wedding. They were so excited to hug the bride at the reception which was held at a local museum. I had to physically drag them off the dance floor and they loved the food lines and the cake and punch. It was so much fun to experience the party from their point of view.

Today was church and much packing. Also a family walk and trip to the park. And more packing. And laundry.

Hey, Twinkie, I was thinking about you today, wondering what yoiu were up to. Sounds like the Twnkie girls had some fun!

I just went to get DH some ice in ziplock bags for his foot. Except the ice got stuck. When I figured out the problem, the ice came shooting out all over the floor!!!!!!!!!! Not the recommended way to mop the floor, especailly at 10:30 on a Sunday night!!!!!!

Speaking of ziplock bags, I really need to get the ones with the slide thing!

Hi Marita!

I can beat your story. I found big jar of colored sugar crystals- 4 colors in wedges inside. It hadn't been opened and I was saving it for the girls birthday or spring cookies or something (I got it on sale after Easter). I thought it was sealed but somehow Goldenchild opened it and shook the sugar onto the floor.

And minutes later Princess Twink spilt her ice water.... so I bet your floor is cleaner than mine!:rotfl:

Twinkie, want to split the cost of a maid???

Everybody ought to have a maid....

Everybody ought to have a maid,
Everybody ought to have a working girl,
Everybody ought to have a lurking girl
To putter around the house.
Everybody ought to have a maid,
Everybody ought to have a menial
Consistantly congenial
And quieter than a mouse.
Oh, oh, wouldn't she be delicious,
Tidying up the dishes,
Neat as a pin.
Oh, oh, wouldn't she be delightful,
Sweeping out,
Sleeping in.

My Internet connection crapped out again! That's It, I am keeping my dial up backup.!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: My DD sent a text message saying we need to move our Sunday call to tomorrow night because she was at a movie. I've been wanting to ask how her job is going and how Cash is doing. I hope he settled back down after being here :rolleyes1

My, Twink! It sounds like you had an exhausting day!!! But it sounds like the packing is coming along well.

Hope Uma is getting all ready for the graduation party.

Marita, good thing there were no sprinkles on your floor to clean up :lmao:

That's a bummer, Marita.

BTW, I think the DIS time isn't off too far.

Every time I think of cancelleling my second phone line and MSN connection, the network craps out on me. SO that's it, Im keeping it!!! $30 a month be damned, worth it to me!

Happy Sunday!

After church today, we went to a BBQ at DSIL's house where we feasted on baby back ribs (Mmmm- MM!).

And there was a Pull-Up FULL of sand and POOP (= a hum-dinger of a rash!) for Princess Norah. I bathed her oh-so-gently and ointmented her carefully. Poor widdle princess.

Now, I have a monster headache. Wicked bad. So, it'll go as soon this Tylenol kicks in.

Twinkie- sounds like fun! A chicken coop raising, huh? It just sounds like "service" that is so cool! In our church, if you are sick and unable to do physical work, by-golly you'll not only have your lawn mowed or snow shoveled, the laundry folded and dishes done and family FED! We just take over to help out. Most commonly is when you're on bed rest for pregnancy and have other little ones to care for. They are farmed out and all the chores are tended to. Same thing for any major surgery or life change like a move. Or even the need to dig sprinkler trenches and sod laid...you'll get 20 men and teens to help. Service is a blessing! Funny thing about serving others, you CANT be depressed yourself. The more you care for others, the better YOU feel. Kind of like karma, I think. Wow, did I stray off your coop raising topic, or WHAT?

Hi Nab, Marita, MommyP, and ThreadmuthaMoo!!!!!!!!!!

Hi new friends, Kelly, Polly, Betsy!!!!

Special shout out to the boys: "Ah-OOO-Gah"!!! No idea what I meant by that. It was a Model T Ford horn, in case you didn't guess.

Give your kids a treat from me to help them over the shock!

Uma, your community sounds so suppotive, I would love to have that.

And with that, I am off to bed!

Sounds like you had a fun day, Uma, except for that princess: Norah pull-up!!!

Our church is very service-oriented like that too. When my DH and DD had surgery a while back I ended up declining the kind offers of food, because I was taking off work and my DH is SUCH a finicky eater. And partly because it is difficult for me to pitch in for others since I work full-time. But it was wonderfu having the minister and another friend from church at the hospital with me and my family for moral support and prayers. I'm convinced they helped ensure that everything went well.

Morning All,

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY !!!!!!!!! ( happy doesn't sound right there :confused3 Have a great memorial day )

I see everyone took my advice and is sleeping in.

Looks warm and sunny out but the wind as a nip to it. Hope it warms up because the kids are wearing shorts and a skirt. Bare legs all around.

Twinkie-- Get some rest you sound like you could use some. Sounds like you had a pretty busy weekend. I hate sticky floors and mine are like that a lot. Kids pouring there own drinks and missing the cup or just plain dropping it.

UMA-- Hope your headache is gone and Norah's sore bum. Poor thing.

Moo-- Good for you for skipping the dessert table. I remember they used to always give you orange sherbert or something. It wasn't my favourite thing. The hat sounds fun. I don't wear any kind of hat.

Marita-- At least the ice was on the floor and not all over your hubby. How is playing nurse going.

Good morning!

Playing nurse is not going too bad, DH is not very demaning, Nab,

Well, im off to do some work. Doesnt look like I will be too distracted by this board today, LOL!

Have a good day!
