It was on the CB a little while ago. It goes down at 10:00 pm tonight.

No baby bonus or Mother's allowance that I've ever heard of.

BTW, HI KAY!!! Goog to see you!! We missed you!!! So, one of your businesses is selling stuff on e-bay, right? I'm assuming you're not making a living selling your own stuff, right? Is it like this store around here called, "I sold it, on e-bay"? People bring you things and you sell them? Just curious.

I guess I was an emotional wreck when we returned from Disney and the trip report thoughts were gone....but I have every day written down so maybe I will do it after all.....we were only home a few days before MIL became gravely ill for the last time.....
Those prom photos are what we saw tonight too.....dresses of all shapes and styles......even one girl had a very pretty street length dress but whooooooooo fancy..
Hope they all have a great time....

Here if you make less then 32,000. They give you money each month for each child under 18. I think you get more for kids under 5 too. As they get older you get less. Not sure how much though.

I love the restaurant board too....but I try to go and read the reports when I can......they will always be my first love. Sometimes I have to read trips one paragraph at a time and eventually would finish it.....

Geez. We'd be racking it in if we lived there then. lol!

The only thing here is WIC if you make not too much you get milk, cheese, peanut butter, eggs, cereal, things like that until they turn 5. But you have to go down there and apply for it. Then you're considered leaching off the government. ;)

my sister got WIC for awhile
she was living with my parents and my nephews dad wasnt around
she had to fight for it though as my parents have $
she got it and it really helped she said especially with formula

That is called Welfare here. And you have to apply for it too but they give you the money and hopefully you buy food with it and not go spend it on lottery tickets or something. People know how to steal from that system that is for sure. :sad2:

We have a lot of taxes here to pay for all these programs. I am grateful that we can go to any doctor or hospital and show our health card and not have to pay. Mind you they have been taking stuff away, no more eye check ups, only if you are under 18. Can't remember other things off hand.

I don't know how you guys afford to have babies there. I had two c-sections and didnt' have to pay for them. There you do don't you. Or do you have insurances like you were talking about for that.

hubby pays a certain amount each pay period out of his check at work......his company pays the rest.......if we didnt have that when he had his hunting accident we would be almost 80 thousand in the hole....it is alot of money to pay for insurance but the outcome makes us feel big relief when tragedy occurs and then also when good things occur........like babies......

Thank goodness for insurance that is for sure. Medical can add up so fast too.

When we took Nicholas to the clinic down in Florida last year I couldn't believe we had to pay $160.00 just to see the doctor. We got that back from our health coverage we buy when we travel out of the country.

Little Blue should be home now with the baby.

Here they ship you out 48 hours after you have the baby if you had one before or 60 hours for new mom's. I was in 5 days each time because of my c-section.

We used to have fantastic health insurance through General Motors. but as times have changed,so has our coverage. We have Traditional Blue Cross and it covers hospitals, surgery, ER visits and most tests. We have a co pay for prescriptions. We pay for our doctor's visits- roughly $85 per limited visit- anything longer and the cost skyrockets.
Right now, we're fighting to have some tests that I had done paid . The heart lab input the wrong code and we've now passed the bills on to my husband's benefit rep.
when my husband's appendix ruptured at the Polynesian, BC paid for everything

Soo, in anticipation of tonight's DIS outage, I decided to copy Kay's trip report into word for later re-reading (after all, it started in November!)

Poly your hubby works for GM. That is where most of the people in our town work there and the nuclear plant. We live very close to the head office of GM too pass it all the time.

What does a limited visit mean? You mean in the length of time you are in talking to him?

Marita I remember that. I asked Kay what her next magic number would be but she said one per customer.

our co pay for doctors visits is 15.00 and co pays for meds vary....ten, twenty and thirty five for the newest drug out....I take two in the morning and two at night......I used to take three in the morning...but I dumped my hormones.....heck I can take the heat.......rofl....but no side effects yet...

Dumping the hormone one in the winter might be good it will save you on electricity bills.....:lmao:

I take blood pressure pills. But they are covered though hubby's work plan. Glad we have that. We pay nothing. Same as dental and eye exams (that the govn't took away)

So you are near the Oshawa plant? My husband just left for work. His plant builds the new sports cars. He doesn't work on the cars- he is an electrician.
We're charged by the time we spend with the doctor or nurse practioner- cost isn't less for the nurse:(

Yes I am 15 minutes from Oshawa. That is were my main mall is. My only Walmart. :rotfl:

I guess I wouldn't be sitting there joking with the doctor then like I do now. You even have to pay for the nurse....:scared1:

Several hours......for upgrades.
