I saw that on the news, Marita. It looked horrific. So sad.

Did it affect your commute or did you stay home today?

Moo, it did not affect me, it was south of where I drive. But it affected of other castmembers.

Mony, I agree, congrats on the proud Mama moment! We all love those!

I need to go fix some dinner and finish some work tonight, ughhh! Assignment: Do a proforma how a quick service place would do, what revenue is lost from other places, incremental labor/expenses, and do it by tomorrow, since I am taking Friday off. Don't think its going to happen, except a skeletal outline. It is soo subjective! How much business do we loose from sit-down restaurant, how much from snack/sandwich restaurant.

ACK!!!!!!!!

I was going to take Friday off, but I may have to work after all but do it from home

How did this guy get on the default smilie list? ------> :duck:
That would be the family patriarch. We just call him Duck.

Good morning!

Another rainy warmish day here. Perfect Donald weather.
With Melinda's post, sounds like you 2 are callin' me out. I looovvvee warm rainy days.

Hi Moovers,

Sad day here in Orlando today. The fire dept was doing a controlled fire near I-4 that got out of control and mixed with heavy fog about 4:30am this morning. That resulted in people not being able to see a thing suddenly. There was a 70 car/tractor-trailer car pile up, some trucks turns over and burnt out, with some fires and explosions. 3 people dead, over 30 in the hospital, some critical.
People reported they could see nothing, but hear crashes all around. Even the police had to go by foot to check things.

I-4 between Kissimme and Lakeland has been closed all day, most likely still tomorrow, while the cleanup continues. Lots of people were forced to take country roads and were late for work (excused, but not paid) but I much better than being in that pile up.

Sandy and Allie, if you are still around, that should not impact you travelling from the airport.

And GOOD LUCK!
Some one on another thread said an enginneer from Animal Kingdom was among the dead. Names haven't been released.
I am a newshound. Not really morbid, but some stories like this I follow closely. Had my boss looking it up on line(I don't have access at work).
Found out yesterday I will probably be layed(sp?) off for 2 months while the kitchen is rebuilt. They will use up all our paid time off first. I'm calling my brother-in-law about my rights. He's a lawyer who for years was the head referee for the Department of Employment Security for Tennessee. He might know a thing or two on this subject. Although if WT wants to chime in, that'd be kuhl too.
Lexi-you left Chicken Rick off the list of preferred nicknames for our buddy in Loo uh vil. He earned it when he tried to weasel out of a contract with WKU.
BBN-I once was at a game at RCA dome and an Indianapolis Colt came and sat next to me for most of the second half. Figger that one out.
On birthdays, if you don't know mine, it's the same as Guy Lombardo's.(Who? says PJ) Nab should be able to figure that one out. Maybe not.
I am not a fan of the food people. Creeps me out. But I love the dirty mouth.
Sandy and Allie, goog luck. Don't run so hard you wear yourselves out. It's WDW. Have fun.

Nabbie, it isn't windy here. In fact, it was really clear and sunny today (which is probably why I woke up with a headache).

Amanda, that sling looks wonderful! I'm sure keeping up with the boys has helped melt off the baby weight  Hope things work out quickly with the nursing/gaining.

DTD,

Good luck, that layoff sucks! Remember, there are temp agencencies if you need some work in between.

OK, I need to go get some dinner...

OK, I have to share a proud mama moment too now.

From DD's Jewish studies class:

Hi Nicole,
>
> I'm really sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I was out of the country during break and only now am back on campus, sorting through all the papers.
>
> Anyway, regarding your Jewish People I paper, I was very impressed. The argument is most intriguing, and even though I'm not quite convinced, it was very well argued! The research was good, and the only deficit was the lack of a bibliography at the end.
>

>
> Your Holocaust paper was even more impressive, being well written and showing lots of good research. You dealt with numerous sub-issues, linking them all back to your main theme. While a bibliography at the end would have been nice, that hardly detracted from the strength of the paper. Well done!

Thanks Marita - and it is so sad, the pictures are so shocking - in person, it has to be so much worse - the fog was problem for another pileup in Utah -

DTD - another temp place for work - the Budget Board has a thread on "earn $70 for 4 hours of work" it tells all the ins and outs of doing the food demos at Targets, Kmarts etc - you go online to "snagajob.com" then your zip code then look for "mass communications" then fill out the paper work - it takes a couple of weeks, the work is mostly on weekends tho - and you have to be organized to get your pay straight!!

Moo - you just left me - hope I didnt give you a headache - got a word from our last game to fit!! Hope to have this wrapped up before I leave...

If anyone knows where DH put his MARATHON PACKET - please help me!

If anyone knows where I put our One day base Park Tickets - please let me know!! I feel like an idiot!

Thanks for listening

T - 9 hours....

MOO :rotfl2: Your turn!!
(I'm getting tired of staring at the board!!) :rotfl2:

Sandy, go look in the fridge or freezer!

OK, Sandy, I'll go play my turn, but I know what you mean about staring at the board forever!

We have a china cabinet where we usually put our important papers.

Did you clean an area for the holidays where the packet and tickets might have been? DD put all the stuff from the dining room table in bags and dumped them in my room.

Or, maybe DH was being efficient and put them in his suitcase?

Sandy, go look in the fridge or freezer!

EUREKA I'''ve got it!! :rotfl2:

Nope, not in the kitchen (and dont think I didnt look!!) UNDER the couch!! :rotfl2:

Tickets are still missing!!

Marita :cool1: for your DD - that is AWESOME - I still get chills when I think of DS first A paper in English!! :thumbsup2 Superlative!

(notice how i'm trying to expand my vocabulary!! :rotfl2: IF only I could get the tiles and board placement!! :rotfl2: )

MommyP I LOVE that sling!! I had one 11 years ago - and I loved how I could nurse DD standing up!! That came in handy at Hockey games and practices!!

Marita-- wow those are excellent marks. :thumbsup2

Mommy P-- glad you can a least pump some milk for him. I agree he can't be to hungry if he doesn't want the bottle.

Sandy-- in a drawer for safe keeping. Don't you hate when you put something somewhere thinking it is in a safe place and forget the place...do it all the time.

Especially after Christmas time when you find one of the kids presents you even forgot you bought....:lmao:

Donald-- Moo is right June 19th but I hope not 1902 for the year....:rotfl: I knew he did the Auld Lang Syne song for New Years Eve and have even been over the bridge named after him in his home town. Hope you don't get layed off I don't think I would be using my vacation or sick time for that.

PSA: Don't fall for this old scam. While this appears to be a downtown area, it could happen just as easily on Disney property:

pick_pocket

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yet another goog reason for not carrying much cash!

Glad you found the packet, Sandy. Now relax your mind for a few moments and you'll be able to remember where the tickets are.

Maybe they're in the packet?!

I forgot I had to feed the kids!! :rotfl2:

Shrimp Alfredo (from scratch!!) anyone??

(and Cheryl - your turn!!) :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Good thing for that dictionary

UY was not a word (well It looked like it accepted it, but AY WAS A WORD!!)

now I can go eat, and sleep peacefully!! LOL

Thanks so much Cheryl for helping me thru my obsession!!

Great game, Sandy!!! See, you can tell your DD there was no need for me to let you win! That was a well earned 11 point win . . . that board had SO many dead ends :headache:

Now go find those tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You be goog teacher!!

I have no subscriptions suddenly!!

I won't say "Ding Ding Ding..." but I did just update. It was 7 pages of word documents and includes MommyP! Hope you'll heed my shameless pluggy.

My typing fingers are aching!

Run, Sandy, run!!! And have a magical time with your hubby ;)

:yay: Yay! Thanks for the heads up on the update, Wendy!

Wendy, I wouldnt call mine "updates" as much as mindless blogging!!
