MP, that does seem odd! I would go for the money every time too!

Thinking happy thought for contractions for you tonight :cloud9:

BabyN - I thought that would be the case on Monday and I wouldn't get one of the 4 slots. But, it was just the opposite. My midwife said that no one was scheduling for Monday because of the Holiday. ?? Seems to me celebrating New Years just isn't any fun 9 months pregnant and that extra tax deduction is much better. ;)

We have so much stuff scheduled for Monday it's not even funny... and of course I'm working.

I guess the goog thing is I get paid for all this babynursing. Cha-ching! or is that Ka-Ching? Maybe Shania Twain would know.;)

Oh and I had a baby that weighed 10 lbs 3 oz. today and was 22.5 inches long. He reminded me of Ethan (10-9 and 23.5 inches) and I was hugging and squeezing and playing with him when his mom came to the nursery window and saw me.

I told her how he reminded me of my son and she laughed and said "I'm just glad to see he was getting good care. You can play with him all you want."

It's moments like that, that makes the flip side more bearable. I won't go into detail about our little sick baby that we had to transfer to LooUhVull, but if you guys think about it say an extra prayer for her today. She definitely needs it.

Hopping in the shower and then I'm driving my two little nephews home who spent the night last night. Dh took one of our ds's to the Cardinals basketball game, so I'm left to be the mommy taxi.

See ya

Last edited by babynurse1 : Today at 05:12 PM. Reason: No, I did not literally have the baby. He was my patient. Got it?

Thanks for clarifying, BBN!

I know you all are going to be so jealous, but guess where I got to spend the last 4 hours?

Anyone?

Urgent Care. Matt has the flu and pnemonia. His color just seemed so off to me and we were going on day 4 of a fever. Scary!

So I am making a pot of homemade chicken soup, I bought popcicles and robitussin, ibeprophren, and 7up. I told him get your DS, sit on the couch all you want and get your quilt. He actually smiled.

DH put the knobs on the cupboards. So it's easier to open everything.

I didn't get to paint like I wanted to, but I have a few more days off to get it done.

Catch you all later!

MommyP- I betcha your labor will start "out of nowhere" instead of easing into it. Do you have meals at the ready in the freezer for your DH to feed the Poppins?

Monica- oh no! Is he ok? Mmmmm, I love homemade soup!

BN- extra prayers for the frail little babette. SO sad! I have a special place in my heart for the little newborns who are struggling because I lost my first baby at 6 mo. pregnant and remember he looked like he could have made it on the outside (with a fight). Little angel!

Sandy- good for you running in the cold! I am so not a fan of exertion in the out of doors when it is 14 degrees out. Your DH is lucky he didn't slip and fall on his head with the black ice!

Melinder- There's some good songs on GH3. I absolutely suck at all of them. I suck at practice mode. I would suck at a painfully slow Mary Had a Little Lamb, no doubt. I play Norah's Leap Frog and try to get the bunnies to cross the river by jumping on logs- while scoring bonus "health" carrots and avoiding the bee hives or falling in the river. On level ONE, I suck. ;) The most carrots I've scored was 18. After like 20 tries. :sad2: I KNOW! I am good at other things I guess. If it requires any remote use of hand/eye coordination....I'll just stick to bow making and casseroles.

Twinkii- Where are yous? Are yo ok, mama?

Welp, I'm off to un-Christmas the house (inside). I wish I had a n easy-button because it is NO fun taking down decorations. :wizard:

Ohh, poor baby!!!!!!! :grouphug: Hope he gets better soon!

Wendy - I hope you're right. It's never happened that way for me before though. I usually ease into it with easy contractions for hours that I barely even think about until it's very close to the end. We have some easy dinner things to get us by until meals start coming in from church. Thankfully my Mom is keeping the boys the 2 nights we're in the hospital and 1 extra night when we get home. It's such a nice break. ;) Mommy's vacation with meals included. ;)

Monica - Hope your little guy gets better fast!!!

BabyN - Poor little baby. I'm so thankful that our hospital is fully equip for pretty much everything. They hardly ever have to transport babies to Miami or Tampa anymore.

Thanks my bum-laying laptop sistah!

You don't need groceries anyway, just look around, you will find plenty of things to eat, I promise!

Well, in light of the carpy weather forecast for tomorrow (more snow - ugh!), I cowboy'd up and schlepped to the grocery store. Torturous, but at least it's done now.

DH is going over our friend's house to watch some pay-per-view boxing match thing tonight, so I get the remote and the couch all to myself this evening. Woo hoo!

I used to be part of a moms 2 mom group here in the metro detroit area and when someone in our group in our immediate area had a baby we'd all make a meal and drive it over to the family.

He appears to be ok, just when you take a close look at him his eyes show it and his skin color is pale.

He's barely coughing his fever was only 101F and his appetite has been less, but he's my 84 pound 5' tall 11 year old.

So when and if he gets sick, he really gets it.

Monica, I hope your son gets better quickly. What a shame that he's sick during school vacation!

Last year, my 2 kids and DH got deathly ill with severe strep between Christmas and New Year's. It was so bad that it looked like the kids had mumps! They all ended up on antibiotics, and were miserable throughout the whole school vacation. I didn't get it until the middle of January, but I ended up getting it even worse than they had it. Not fun!

I don't now what the issue is with posting a bikini picture over on the Peeps thread. I have a perfectly lovely one from circa 1968 I could post! :cool2:

Hey, it looks like the dis time may be fixed :faint:

working on ds computer - jsut lost my post!

bn just know extra prayers are said

mommyP Thank you for sharing your time with us - I kinda remember how yucky the days before - nothing comforting to say!! just add hugs and prayer - peace!

Monica home made soup and lots of TLC - nothing like the momma luv when you're sick!!

UMA taking down the tree?? really! I'm cluck at cleaning

Marita I actually have a wonderful HOT picture of me in a suit - modeling on a rock... in Jamaica baby!! :rotfl2: I've posted it too!! :rotfl2:

Marita -- was that the last time you wore a bikini.....or bought one :rotfl:

I was going to say I never owned one but that is not true I had one on our honeymoon, in which we went to a nude beach in St Marteen. That was as far as I would go for showing skin.....:lmao: That is also the place Hubby lost his wedding ring in the ocean and young nekid women tried to help in find it with scuba gear, but no luck though. At least he says with the ring, I am sure he was in heaven.

Lol, Nabbie!
I think last time I wore a bikini was in the 70's. And havent bought a bathing suit in a good 15 years (or worn one)
But, by Golly, I DO have a bikini picture I could post!

Although I think that is not the kind the peeps are referreing to :confused3

We are traveling to my mom's today for "Christmas". It won't be like Christmas since Granddaddy is in the hospital. He's been there all week with pneumonia. My grandmother stays all day and my mom stays all night since he is experiencing some paranoia. (He's always very out of it when he's sick.) I know they must be exhausted but mom is insisting that we come today anyway.

Lynette.....People you think are from this thread? How many friends named "Melinda" could Moo possibly have? I put in a friend request for you. I'd know your cartoon/camo/mug picture anywhere. :)
Lex, sorry to hear about your Granddaddy, but hope you have a nice gathering with your family

Hmmm, don't think I have any other friends named Melinda :confused3

ETA: I AM really a cartoon, just so ya know!

And I couldn't find you on Facebook either. And I even had your real-life name and everything! I guess I need to be graded on a curve when it comes to Facebook! :rolleyes1
:rotfl2:

I couldn't find Peej on Facebook. She must have privatized her profile pursuant to the instruction in her class

Hey Moovers. We've been slammed at work, but this is always a CRAZY week b/c everyone is inducing and scheduling c-sections so they can have an extra tax deduction.

I have to go back into work tonight too. And one of the nurses working the evening shift is 9 mos pregnant and came into work having contractions. They told me I might have to come into work early, but I reminded them that legally I can only work 16 out of 24 hours unless it is a federal state of emergency. hee hee
Ah, yes . . . all the little tax deductions! Like MP will have :) Do they do any special giveaways for the New Year's baby? I don't think they do around here any more, but I recall our local hospital doing that years ago.

Hope you don't have to work too hard tonight. Goog for you reminding them that you could only work so many hours :scared: Baby prayers sent.

I know you all are going to be so jealous, but guess where I got to spend the last 4 hours?

Oh, Mony, sorry to hear that! And today was supposed to be Frankenmuth, right?! Hope Matt gets feeling better fast.

I have seen Sandy's bikini pic and she looks tres hotT!

On Thursday night, my cousin was showing me the pics from our 1973 Florida spring break trip when we went to Disney, the beach, and visited several relatives. There is a shot of me in a two piece swimsuit (NOT a bikini) She tried to scan them but they are in one of those "magnetic" photo albums and she couldn't pull the plastic up. Hopefully she'll work on it some more because I'd love to have those photos for my scrapbook.

DD and I finally were able to have dinner at the Japanese steak house tonight and we had a nice time. She is working on packing her stuff as she is heading back to NC tomorrow. No classes until Wednesday, but she has plenty of things to do down there.

The dis is still very slow for me?

Sandy I remember seeing that picture.

Cheryl I was gonna post I wasn't heading to Frankenmuth anyways and I forgot. I had plans to paint my hallways. Those got pushed until tomorrow.

I burned 2 dozen cookies today. Trying to do something nice for the kids. 1 did turn out ok. I need new cookie sheets.

The birds and squirrels are getting cookies tomorrow.

mostly slow, sometimes fast -

if it gets to slow - I quit!!

Monica - you do need those cookie pans - shiny ones for cookies, black ones for pizza!! (I thought you were burning them on purpose so you wouldnt eat them! roflol!)

Ack!!! The DIS is slow for me tonight too. I have had enough.

Sending positive labor and delivery thoughts to the Poppins family.

Goog Night!

Why does one feel compelled to eat burnt cookies?

They don't even taste goog. The first and 5th one both equally tasted horrible.

forget the birds and squirrels I threw them out!

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

The kids opened more presents yesterday and we got to visit with family. My brother and I went out to the hospital to visit with my grandparents.

Grandaddy is so sick and he looks so old but he still had his sense of humor. "Too many birthdays...that's my problem," he said. Mom stayed with him again last night. Said he had a bad night.

Gotta head back home by noon-ish. Both girls are dog sitting today and there'll be some dogs with their legs crossed by the time we get back home.

Monica....Burnt cookies? At 1:30? :scared: How's Matt today?

Wendee....I KNOW! I stink at all video games especially those Frogger types. But I can always crack the safe in Sly 3. That's my claim to fame.

Marita & Moo....Post the bikini pictures! If there is a bikini picture of me, it is before I was 12. I don't think I ever owned a bikini after that.

Lynette.....My former step-sister is named LYNETTE! No ship. I didn't realize the name was so uncommon.

RE: PJ....She is now my friend on Facebook so y'all can stalk her through me.

Hi, Peej! :wave2:

Sandy! I remember your hotT bathing suit picture too! And no offense but I see people all the time out running in the cold rain and question their mental state. Can you just do the tread mill?

BNCG....Praying for your little sick baby.

MommyP....Praying for you too....quick, easy, non-anxiety filled labor resulting in an 8 lb. 11 oz. baby delivered at 12:20 p.m.  Glad you've got your mom to help with the boys. You leave that sweet baby in the nursery and let the baby nurses love on him all night and you sleep and eat all the lovely food you did not have to prepare. Enjoy your mini-vacation.

Twinkie....:wave2:

Everybody....:wave2:

Where are the boys?

HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY!

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33
