I'm still hormonal - I've been trying to stay off the boards since I messed up so bad -

ie Photopass sharing - IF you have plugged in your numbers - you cant add to anyone's account... :sad1:

dd is trying to "cook" no bake cookies... she is seriously driving me crazy - remember the old days? You wrote down a recipe - you followed that recipe? DD looked it up on the "internet" - and has to go back and forth - here's a surprise - SHE MADE A MISTAKE>.. can i say "I told you so" no, but like I said I'm hormonal, I'm doing too much yelling, too much eye rolling.. and ya know that will come back at me karma like!! :sad2:

GO BEARS so what if SEVEN of you starters are "out" (injuries) we do have Hester... (14 -14 in the half against the Vikings)

cookies turned out, even if she had to throw away 3C oats and 2C of sugar! :sad2:

DH is still at the grocery store... calling me ever 15 min (I wanted to watch the Bears lose in the last 4sec of the game!! :sad1: ) Poor guy, its stressful doing grocery shopping on Sundays - thats why I hate doing it then!

Pot roast is smelling up the house - hope it turns out as good as Disney's!! Seriously

Now she's trying to make a slush!

THANKS Melinda!

We came close to transferring to Tennessee in the mid 90's and that nearly killed me. We investigated the area and were shocked there wasn't a Catholic church or school anywhere near where we'd have to live. That was a reality check, for sure! Turns out ,we didn't have to leave and I was deliriously happy.
We'll have to see how this plays out. GM likes to play these games to get tax concessions and incentives from the states where they have facilities. They also play games with the local unions.
If we have to go for a few years, I could handle that. School isn't an issue as ours are in college now. My mother is a big issue as the four of us are the main family for her, even though I have three brothers. My husband has a good job so I think we'd take a transfer til he could take his retirement. That is,if they even offer transfers to his department.
GM has played this game here before and I had a stomach ache for a few years. I was a nervous wreck and I'm not going to do that again.

Thanks for the hug:)
Lexi did a goog job with what's great about BGKY(expecially 4) so I'll try to cover the rest. We have a very nice big Catholic Church, St. Joseph's, with an elementary school. There is also a Catholic Student Center just off campus that holds services. BG is the shopping and cultural center for southcentral KY. We have a HUGE mall and 2 Walmarts.
GM wants to move more operations here because it's the most successful line they have. When the Corvette plant was moved here in 81-82 from St Louis, GM thought only 400-500 lineworkers would transfer. Over 1400 did, many buying trailers so they could move back to St. Louis when they retired. They've mostly retired now but are still here. The cost of living is low, so combined with GM goog wages, it's like getting a big raise.

Lexi, you know how I feel about 'that school' but I have to give the devil his due. Brooks(or your buddy) has them playing with confidence and Mr. Woodson can not be doubted. Looks like a BCS bowl for dem Cats.(We're boring Cel with the football talk, so I'll stop)

If that doesn't make poly wanna move, I don't know what will!!!

Thank you! :jumping3:

And it's my buddy I think that's put the fire under them. Everybody was ready to tar/feather Rich Brooks until he put Joker in charge of the offense. Just sayin....:rolleyes1

We have two large malls, one walmart and TAX FREE shopping ! Oh ,and we're REALLY SMALL! We are literally 10 minutes from New Jersey, 15 from Pennsylvania and 15 from Maryland.
I don't wanna move!
My husband's plant has 1500 employees working three shifts. They build the roadsters by hand. The plant has a huge amount of space that is not being utilized. We're hoping they get something else.

Sandy, speaking of kids...

I got home today from the baby shower, had just gotten home and changed clothes and headed to the bathroom near the livingroom when she walked in the door from 3 days away and a Lacrosse game this afternoon. No, Hi, Mom I'm home, not hugs, no cheerful greeeting.......

She YELLED: "DO NOT GO INTO THAT BATHROOM, USE THE OTHER ONE!!!!"

Ok, then, love you too, baby :sad2:

Welcome back, Poly! Hope things work out for you:hug:

So I went to this babyshower today for my nephews daughter, whom we do not see very often. DH and DS went to another relatives' kids DB party a couple of weeks ago and my son said she was HUGEEEEEEEEE! He has no clue what huge pregnant looks like, she was just average :rotfl2:

So while I was there this teenage girl hugs me and says, "hi havent seen you in a long time". I say, Im sorry, but I dont remember you (thinking she was a kid of one of my SIL's friends, whom we see maybe once a year).
She goes. I'm Brittany. BrittanY? Brittany who? I am still confused.
She says, you know, Brooke;s sister (the one having the baby) thus she is my niece once removed (is that a term?). Wow, can you say turning from a whatchamacallit into a butterfly? She used to be blond, really chunky, with glasses. This was a trim young lady without glasses and dark hair and very pretty. I kept looking at her and doubting it was really her!

Anyway, the shower was fun. In typical family fashion, it started late, the guest of honor showed of 30 minutes late, LOL. Might I say I am not the late type (well, 10 minutes), except when it comes to work in the mornings...

hey all. I skimmed a little.

moo - the puppies are sooo cute!!

poly - I was going to say if you moved to bowling green, you'd be close to me! but lex already did!

lex - I love you to pieces! your list of reasons it'd be ok for poly to move was great!

donald - ummm. greenwood mall is large?

I think telling poly nashville is an hour away is a better selling point. ;)

So Lost!

Thanks Melindy for the scripture, and the virtual food!

I took the "day of rest" thang a smidge too far and TOOK A NAP! :cloud9:

I swear I'm 10 years younger. I was wondering what sleep felt like!

I am looking forward to a night of mind numbing TV tonight...NO SPORTS. Unless you consider a catfight over Mr. Solice a sport.

howdy all........been a good COLD day......had to wear a sweatshirt and a jacket ......now that is chilly.......hubby turned the heat on this morning....FINALLY...38 is chilly you know.....

went to see our munchkins ......our little princess has a black eye.....she is one tough cookie though....I said show papa your eyes....and she squints them up and grins.......she is saying quite a few words now and signs them too.....our grandson did well at both .......alot of the moms that are in some of the groups with her do the same thing....sign and talk at the same time......she was saying please to me today to get her a raisin......so she signed raisin and please........AWWWWWWWWW I of course melted........right now I am IMing with our oldest granddaughter at college......I miss her too...she said it was COLD up north and had her winter jacket with her.......when she was home a few weeks ago I asked her if she was taking it with her and she said her mom suggested it already......to funny.......

so whats new people

Goog evening, one and ALL!!!!!!!

Sandy, IMO no-bake cookies are e-vile!!! I think they're pretty hard to make. If anyone has a great recipe for them and they turn out somehow other than a bunch of chocolatey crumbles, may I please have your recipe?!!!!! Plus I never know which kind of oatmeal to buy :rolleyes1

The puppies had great fun playing with my friend's dog, Autumn, this afternoon (and vice versa). They are pretty tuckered out. But not sooooo tired. Sukie still had enough energy to chew on the power cord to my laptop  Fortunately, DH noticed what she was doing before she chewed through it.

Melinda, thanks so much for letting me in on your Photopass! I had lots of fun CROPPING and playing with borders. The cropping tool was very easy to use. Can you put your own photos in there and play with them too? I'd love to be able to crop the photo we had taken with Figment and add the Epcot border. Let me know how much to send you for a CD/shipping. Or I may just order a few prints off the Disney web site.

I was just thinking about no bake cookies! As the holiday season approaches, I was trying to decide if I was going to bake cookies for my whole office again. They don't give a crap and pretty much ignore me, but it makes me happy.
I made some last year. They were SO much easier than the milions of sugar cookies I made as well.
Anyway, I think they are kinda like fudge - if you get it just right, it's perfect. the first batch was perfect, the second never "gelled" and the third was just ok.
any experienced candy makers out there?

Celery, buy cookies and be done with it!

Glad you enjoyed MNSSHP and your time with your CM sister :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Marita!! :rotfl2: and I'm sorry - but dont use that bathroom? mmm what is she hiding??? (and really do girls have attitude or what?) (and I hate when I misplace names and memories!)

Uma - no sports - except for the Bears of course!! :thumbsup2 except when they lose... :sad1:

Moo - ok, maybe I'll spill my secret... teh no bake cookies are GONE! 'cause I know the secret!! its easier said than done - IF you use the better oatmeal - the Old Fashioned oatmeal, then you have to carefully pulse the oatmeal in a food processor - break down the huge fat flakes - you want some flakes, and some flour (oat flour - that oat flour absorbs some of the fluid/chocolately goodness!) it is an artform!! So google no bake oatmeal cookies - and add 2 T of corn syrup - when you cook your sugar, butter, cocoa, add that 2T of Corn syrup - you want to make sure NOT to over cook this mixture - or your cookies wont be soft goodness, but crunchy mess...

Its an artform, and not that hard - I'm making it sound way harder than it really is!! its chocolate, its sugar, and by golly the oatmeal adds some healthy stuff to it!! :thumbsup2

Cel, my you were up late! Doing any more TR writing? I'm ready for a new episode.

I can't make decent sugar cookies. Mr. Moo's Grandma made some great sugar cookies - buckets and buckets. I'm sure your coworkers DO appreciate them!!

The sugar cookie recipe was passed down to us, but I just don't have the touch. I think you have to make the recipes a few times to really know how to do it right and I was only present one time during a sugar cookie extravaganza. I do know how to make lots of the things MY mom and Grandma made though.

I just got all caught up on Grey's Anatomy. The TiVo didn't record the last couple for some reason. Too bad all the major channels don't have episodes of their top shows like abc!

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES! :sunny:

Yesterday we served lunch to 140 people at church. I made 30 quiches on Friday for the occasion. So guess what we're having this morning. That's right....leftover quiche....Enjoy!

Gosh....now that PJ is using Celery's username, does that mean she's gonna cook breakfast tomorrow???

Sandy....glad you know the secret to those no-bake cookies. I do not WANT the secret because they are e-vile and call to me in the night. I do not need them in the house!

Cel....I love to make CHristmas cookies but haven't had time since I went back to work to make them like I usta. I have some great recipes though if you need some.

Wendy....Glad you got a nap! It's good to be 10 years younger! Mimi read your TR installment yesterday. She always goes on and on about how much she adores you!

Twinkie, Lynette, Marita, UD, DTD, POLY!, and everybody
....:wave2:

HAVE A MARVELOUS DAY!
:flower3:

Good morning everyone!

Why am I up????:headache:

I am gettting a cold so my already low energy level will hit rock bottom. Probably tomorrowish. Just in time for all my kids to be home from school and need to dentist appointments and teacher conferences.

So trip report writers- get a crack-a-lackin! Mama needs something to read while lounging on the couch later this week. :thumbsup2

PS check your signature- the new guidelines are easy to follow and start sometime like wednesday

Morning all,

Well I can tell you 13 years ago it was a beautiful warm fall day. Today it is cold and rainy.

Boy have we changed. Hubby no longer has huge glasses ,but has less hair and add a goatee. Me add about 30 pounds I would say give or take, plus I wear my glasses all the time now, add a few wrinkles.

Twinkie we were both 31 in that picture.
