Hey, everybody that has a holiday, I am jealous! Stressful day here, but hopefully I can at least work from home on Friday.

Nab, no, Disney never closes, unless it's an emergency, like a hurricane. I think only 3 times in 37 years (and then I think only 1 full day and some partial days).

Hope you all enjoy the day, I am debated which frozen or canned food to have for dinner. And absolutely nothing on TV tonight! Except fireworks or repeats.

Cel, and Tammy, sorry about the overdraft, that sucks! Been there, done that a lot in the past. Havin 2 seperate checking accounts did not work well for us :scared:

Moo, have a safe trip!

I better get some dinner. I am tired and hungry and dont want to work anymore, but I have to, or get up early tomorrow (yeah, right, hahaha)

I'm sure I'll be back later, if anyone is actually online...

Evenin all
Nab: Hospitals don't close, but they do pay overtime.:thumbsup2
Backstage Gal:Check out USA Network; they've got a Monk marathon. IMHO the best show of the last 20 years.
Cel:The niece that owns Pied Piper went to Birmingham Southern, but her parents and her sister(all of whom work there) are WKU alum. And she loves Western a lot.
Dabluestreaker: It's called Rivendell. It's a pretty goog place to work.
I almost forgot. You see me trip listed below, and we were going in that car(a little red PTCruiser). But there's 4 of us(1000+ pounds of men), so my sister offered us her Explorer. Did I mention I love my sis?

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

Hear Ye Hear Ye

Fireworks are legal in Kansas. Big huge ones too. And it is flat so you can sit in your driveway and see several neighbors literally burning money. Goog times. American Fun

Hi DonaldTDuck! I agree on Monk- the first season was the best!

Hi General Grumpy. Are the very model of the modern major general? I think so.;)

Hi Marita!

Hi Moo! I waved at you as I drove by Chapel Thrill. Did you hear my kids (well one of them) screaming? We have had a day allrighty. DH decided to surprise us with a 20 hour visit to the farm. So we left at 5 am to maximize our time together. Golden child was awake the whole time (except for a 30 minute pre lunch nap) and was AWFUL on the trip home. Talk about your hour tours.... only it was 4 hours.

He passed out as we got home so I am inside making sure he doesn't wake up and get scared while everyone else is out at the cookout. There will be fireworks. I am not clear if they are legal in North Carolina. Legalish I think.

Overtime is good. It will pay for some of your trip. Marita did you get overtime paid for today ? And they made you work hard too!

Moo has a PT Cruiser too.

Fireworks are legal here only on two days. Victoria Day and Canada Day. We watch other people's too. I think it is funny when people want to be up close to , just look up..

Twinkie -- did you stay away from the person with 5th disease? My neice had that and she wasn't a child then either. We had it go around the school to a few years back. Not good for pregnant women that is for sure.

Hey Nab, I don't get overtime :( On the other hand, I dont get undertime either. Didnt get as much done as I wanted tonight, I think I will turn in early and try to make it to work early tomorrow.
WISH me luck, prospects of me gettin up early are NOT good!

There are fireworks going up out back, I might take a peek now.

So, you all saw the commercials for E-Harmony.com? Testing on gazillion levels of compatibilty? Guaranteed (almost) to find the partner of your dreams? And live happily ever after.

One day, since I had nothing better to (don't tell me I could have cleaned the shower, geez) I decided to try the free survey.

Guess what? THey said, sorry, NO SOUP FOR YOU, nobody matches you in compatibilty!

I should have said I like long walks on the beach in the moonlight, sigh!

My going to bed early plan is not looking so good, but I am still in the ballpark.........

Nab - YES! We are driving my PT Cruiser - we were hauling too much carp to put the top down, but we did stop at Mt. Airy on the way once we got into NC. Otherwise known as Mayberry or the home of Andy Griffith! Very quaint downtown with a number of businesses based on the TV show. We missed the parade. That was this morning, but they had a guy wearing an Uncle Sam costume passing out flag stickers and there was patriotic music playing. They were setting up for a street dance when we left, after visiting Opie's Candy Store, LOL.

We went to dinner at one ofour DD's favorite resturants and spent some time with our grandpuppy. My, he's grown!!! SO cute!

We're heading out for the Outer Banks late tomorrow morning.

Twinkie!!! Did you see me waving back??! We passed by Greensboro around 5:00. I remarked to my family earlier that you and I were probably less than 50 or so miles apart at some point today (wahhhhh)!

What an exciting surprise to have your family all together!

We just got settled into our hotel. My DD and I got a small ice creams at Coldstone Creamery (yum) in Chapel Hill in time to hear the fireworks go off at the stadium, but we couldn't see them. Oh well. DH and I saw plenty while driving last night!

It has been a very goog trip so far. Seen tonight at dinner on a t-shirt:

Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator

;)

BTW, Cel . . . the bat phone is AWESOME!!!!! No heavy laptop to lug like DH. Hee hee!

Nighty night, all.

Did you see the statue? I want to go there just to see Andy in bronze. Don't you just love Cruisin? Love that haiku, too. Perfect to form. When I taught third grade, I always had kids try. That would have been an A.

DTD, my hubby saw a picture of the statue in the brochure, but we somehow missed seeing it! The town was a bit discombobulated with it being a holiday though and downtown getting closed off! That'll give us something to look for if we stop again.

We LOVE cruisin'!!!

Marita - Re: the no e-harmony soup for you . . . guess it knows somehow if you're married, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!

So yesterday I decided to paint our hallway. I've had the paint for a while but since it was rainy/cloudy yesterday I decided to do it. My day in a nutshell....

paint, DIS, paint, clean, DIS, paint, eat, DIS, paint, watch TV, clean, DIS, paint, eat, watch TV, sleep. I may or may not have gone to the bathroom in there somewhere. Thrilling isn't it? A holiday to remember.

MOO...How do you post from the car? I am not that tech savvy. Sounds like you're having fun! I've never been to the Outer Banks. It's a very longish drive from here (12 hours) and Charleston is only 8 hours....so we always go to Charleston. BTW...Love the haiku!

TWINKIE....So glad you got some family time. I need the cliff's notes on your family dynamics. How old is the Golden Child? Twins? Are there others?

MARITA...No overtime? Your salary must be HUGE! And I think Moo's right...Eharmony got the married vibe from you.

NAB....Always a line for the computer here too. I came in this morning and the evil Webkinz was up on the screen. Usually it's myspace, facebook, or flickr. We only have one computer....right where I can keep an eye on it....just like I like it!

EVERYBODY ELSE.... :wave2:

Good Morning!

Nothing much to talk about here. I am really tired and grumpy today. I have already snapped at the kids multiple times. Soon I will kick them out of the living room and take over my place on the couch.

This morning Ivy's Mom said that she might start staying home with her dad to save money since he's been out of work with a "knee" injury. Funny in their years of marriage he's been out of work more than in it. Hopefully this will be like the last time that she said that was going to happen and it never did. As much as I would love not to have to watch her anymore, we HAVE to have that money now.

Kaleb is throwing a fit because he wants to watch The Sandlot, so I better get going.

Maybe her neighbor got tired of her stealing her internet. ;)

Poly--You broke both wrists and ankle.....:scared1: I think we will put you in a bubble.... Your house sounds like fun. I never had friends over at our house either. Don't work hubby to hard.

Moo-- Are you driving your car? Glad you checked in.

Marita-- Thinking of you today, hopefully work goes smoothly.

DonaldTDuck-- glad your back and going to visit us regularly.:goodvibes See we don't bite.

UnderDog -- will you have apple pie today?

Well must run I am at the library while Nicholas is swimming. Hannah goes in next.

Lots of kids here wanting to go on the computers here.....

How did you know? I was trying to keep it a secret from you... R U talking to Moo? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hope y'all had a wonderful 4th:yay:

Morning All,

Very foggy morning. They are calling for more rain later. Wonder if that will cancel baseball tonight. Wish it would cancel my dentist appointment this afternoon...:lmao:

Lexi-- you can come paint my hall too. I've had the paint for months too. It is to high up for me to paint in the stairs part. I am terrified of highest. And hubby is working his tail off.

Mommy P-- Hope you don't lose Ivy until you truck repairs are paid for.

Marita-- Are you looking for a new mate...:rotfl: Maybe a young stud muffin. You know that would cut into you dis time. Just get a butler and cook to bring you things.

DonaldTDuck-- you were a teacher. So was Poly. Hope your not to bother by all my grammar and spelling mistakes...

Moo-- Sounds like your trip is going well, except for the hit in the noggin. We wanted to go to Andy Griffith town to one summer but we didn't make it. That was the same year we went to the Walton's Museum in Virginia.

Morning all!
Moo - love the haiku!

Is anyone else ready to go to disney world?
Man! It's not coming fast enough.

Crystal told anthony about the trip last night. She said "Where would you like to go for your birthday?"
He said chuck e cheese.
She said think bigger.
He said his house.
She said where would you want to go more than anywhere else in the world?
He said Mawmaw's house?
HA!
So we're ditching him at his maw maw's and taking someone else instead. ;)

I got the book out of the car that I'd gotten him earlier in the summer. It's the birmbaum's guide for kids.
I told him to look at it and let us know what he wanted to ride and didn't want to ride.
He stomped to the ground and pouted.
So I took it back.
He then got a lecture from his aunt and mom and ended up crying.
Ha.
I know why he was upset - he hates reading THAT much.
How do you get a kid to change?
I thought for sure a fun book would work. :confused3

So we're ditching him at his maw maw's and taking someone else instead.

I'm available. ;)

Wow, I can't believe he hates to read so much that even THAT wouldn't excite him just a little!

I love reading those travel books even though I already know it all. I could write my own. lol

I told you mommyp - we'll swing by and grab you! Just hold your thumb out! :rotfl2:

How old is Anthony?

I love looking at the tourist books too.

Mommy P doesn't have to stick out her thumb her belly will be sticking out by then....:rotfl:

He'll be 9 on September 23rd.
Woo!
I guess he'll just be illiterate. And ride what I say.
Ha.
He said he's not scared of anything, so me and him will get to torture Tammy by calling her a chicken.
We did it last night.
A month or so ago, we even had Jeanie calling her a chicken. :rotfl2:
I told him Rockin roller coaster is the only one that comes close to scaring me. So we'll see how he reacts.

Well has he been on any rides that are scary? You might be riding yourself.

My 10 year doesn't like to read either it you make him. He loves comic books though. It must be a boy thing. Hannah love to read to her stuffed animals.

Well better get off here and get Hannah ready for her swimming lesson. Nicholas already in there.

morning everyone.........the nuns at the school where my kiddos went......always said.......Let them read comic books if it means they will read....so each week we would go to the store and buy a comic book..whether it was superman or anything........he will read those I am sure........ROFL.
I am still in my housecoat .....gotta love a week off of doing nothing......oh wait.....pops is painting as he goes on the third floor and closing each door as he finishes a room....that way the whole place will be ready when we (and if we) decide to sell the place......my mama was 13 when she moved to this place.....and it was only a first floor with an attic.....then the back rooms were made....(my kitchen) and the roof was raised to make a second floor for bedrooms.......then the third floor was raised and it was three apartments.....so the first floor front is 129 years old......I love the history of this place...just a plain old apartment house but alot of family history here.....
Have a good day everyone
