I've been at my sister's for a few and gettin caught up is tough. So's catchin Sis. She was in Knoxville when I tried last week, and Sunday is her day to run her daughter's new ice cream parlor. CEL you've got to try it. It's Pied Piper Creamery on E. 11th (114 I think) and it is goog. She's got banana nana fo fana, My Chery Amour, Trailer trash(think kitchen sink) and the island flavors, Ginger, Mary Ann(all vanilla with no sugar added) and the Professor(coconut and fruit), just to name a few. She makes them all in the back, and they are good.
Poly- welcome back, noone missed me either, but I haven't been around (here) as long as you.
Underdog- my dad the pentecostal preacher tells that story. It's a goog one.
Dabluestreaker-flavor for you at the niece's place might be her smurfie one, can't think of the whole name. If you go, mention you're a Topper.

we are going to my bils today and having a cookout......I just finished making the 7 layer taco dip.....it weighs a ton......and I INSISTED on putting the green stuff on top too......guacomole is my favorite part of the dip.......YUMMY......then we churn the home made ice cream.......another I CAN HARDLY WAIT FOR.......cause I am cheating major and eating it with homemade chocolate topping.......YUMMY again.

Happy July 4th

Chad's working, but hopefully it will just be another early day. We are going over to a BBQ that my youngest sister is hosting at a friends house(they are house sitting). Until then I really don't have a whole lot to do. If you can believe it. I started my laundry yesterday at 1:30AM. You can really get a lot done when you start in the middle of the night. I highly recommend it.

Last night I got a good night's sleep. I don't actually remember waking up at all until 4:45. So either I didn't, or I was slept walked to the bathroom and back again.

Ethan and I stayed in bed until 8ish. Jeremiah helped keep an eye on Kaleb and fed him bananaS. He ate some cereal this morning and Ethan did too. So hopefully everyone is well now.

Nab - Yes, I am sure I am only 26. We made our share of financial mistakes a few years back, so we have that experience under our belts to keep us from doing it again. Hopefully we can get the truck repairs paid off before the baby comes. Then we will have next years tax return to use towards vacation. I plan on taking 8 weeks off after the baby comes with no Ivy. So we need some of that tax return to help save up since I'll be 8 weeks short. I am thinking maybe we can take a couple of weekend trips, one in early March and one in May and then go for a little longer time in Sept. Like we usually do. I'm sure that we can all plan another meet another year. Since we all go every year.

Isn't that the sad truth. They always talk about how fireworks are illegal and yet they are selling them under tents on every corner.
I'm really sure that those people are using them for what they said they are when they signed the waivor. We always had great neighbors who spent tons of money on them so we never did. But now we don't have any neighbors. Or money.

Happy Fourth of July kids!

My husband is at the cemetery- his grandmother was born and died on this date many years ago. He was very close to her and visits her grave on the 4th unless we're away ( which we always were until last year when my mom sold her home on the Jersey shore ,except for the summer i broke both my wrists, and the chicken pox summer, oh and my mysterious spontaneous ankle breaking summer).
So, anyway, it has been a busy week. He never takes vacation unless we're going away. This week is a corporate wide vacation week and he could worked and not gotten aid anything more. He decided it was the perfect week to get some things done! And has he ever ! There is one more area of the garden to do and he and the younget are going to work on thst this morning,while the oldest and I go to the grocery store. Because,yes, we're having another party! They have 8 or 9 friends coming over at 2 and tonight they will go watch fireworks at the riverfront. My mom ,who is the only family we really have,will also be here.
sounds like we're party central, but honestly, we're really pleased the girls want to bring their friends here. Growing up, I could never have friends over and my husband didn't have much of a homelife. If these kids were wild or obnoxious,they would be here. They are all quite nice and each will normally bring something .
On another note, we saw a movie last night and realized that Bruce Willis is the answer to our defense budget. Two clips of wonder bullets lasted an entire movie- think of the tax dollars our government could save! Oh, and he even jumped on a fighter jet and rode it for a while!
Well, he's back and wants to have tea with me before we start our "stuff". hope everyone is well and pray for some sun for me! The pool is ready, but is the sky looks like more rain is on the way

GOOG Morning and Happy 4th of July!!!

Nab, you're right - we are traveling today. We left last night and drove 5 hours so we are almost to West Virginia. I read a bit last night but was too tired to post. It took some doing to get our dog to the kennel yesterday - he is getting frail and can't jump in the car any more, so I had to make a step for him to climb onto. Oh, the indignity of it all!!! Plus he won't let me pick him up. Poor little guy! Once I dropped him off and got into work it was non-stop meetings so I'm really happy to have a few days away.

Anywho, sounds like some of you are trying to have a nice holiday Sorry to Marita and anyone else who has to work.

We hope to get to our hotel by 5ish. Our DD is hanging out with friends today and probably driving her new car (a Honda Civic) around

They're doing repairs on our awnings here at the apartment complex today. It's getting on my nerves and freaking the dogs out!

I spent way too much last night at the dollar tree. I intended to only buy notebooks to start working on autograph books for anthony and jeanie.
Only I found 40 items I just HAD to have for our trip.
Ha.
Like glowsticks and nemo figurines and an ariel ball and disney stickers.
Cuz I'm going to try the "Look what tinkerbell brought you!" approach to getting stuff while we're at wdw.

Anyway. I had two deposits that went through last night. And the rent check. So OF COURSE Amsouth puts the rent check through first. And says since I went to Dollar tree, even though it hasn't come through yet, I was 11 dollars short.
I hate banks! Why do my pending charges count against me but my pending deposits don't count for me?!?!?!

Long story short, my 40 items cost me 79 dollars. blech.

But to quote the great Marita, "But I am not bitter, honestly!"

It's a lovely day to be home....u know....too bad the puppies are going insane because someone is moving out/in next door....and our door was painted....and the awning....shoot...I just wish the witchy landlady would REPLACE the crappy dishwasher that doesn't work too good anyway! I've been a very good person today...I cleaned both bathrooms and mopped the kitchen floor. Cel will be happy....she's lying down because she doesn't feel too hot this morning!
