BabyN - That is very disturbing. I agree with you, this country is heading down a very dangerous road. Obama seems way too happy to make abortions as legal and disgusting as possible. I don't understand it.

Twinkie - That has been my crib motto as well. Kaleb had to come out of a crib very young because when we moved the crib wasn't in any condition to move with us. (being held up by 2 walls) Remember when we had to turn his door knob around so we could lock him in at night?

Isaac's crib came without any hardware, so we had to get all that. As soon as he is big enough to start jumping in his crib one of the long sides is going to fall off. :headache:

I'm afraid Isaac might be climbing out of his crib by the time the baby comes. I'm hoping not, but he already tries to hoist his leg up and over. He is climbing on everything now. Today he was on the dining room table.

Wendy - Good to see you. Of course I realize that if you don't post immediately after me you won't see this.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I was running some errands and I heard on the radio that Obama also wants to impose sanctions against any hospitals that do not comply with this new law.

Do you think the hospital is going to choose the sanctions or the babynurses?

How does this entire scenario not go against my first amendment rights?

On a side note, I'll keep my fingers crossed that your next u/s shows the placenta has moved up. :)

Cel, thanks for the reassurance for DH. 2 more weeks? :sad2:

I think from what I heard today it will be all done sooner than that.

Sorry you have to go fishing again

wow. just wow!

:wizard:

I had a FB message from Lex today. She said to say hi to everyone - she's doing well, but has been super busy.

w00t for your DD, Twink! :cheer2:

Her Royal Highness bbn :worship: Goog thing Red didn't tell you he got an F!!!

Whew, Marita! That's sort of a relief. I think Cel is right about the timing for any announcements to your hubby's group.

I was talking with a friend at work today and she told me that her friend who works for Disney was just involuntarily separated. She worked in the parks doing those guest surveys.

Cel - Was Riley a good boy at the office?! Some people think you're too liberal AND some think you're too Christian? You're just a dichotomy!

Hell, B! Are you all mended after your hospital visit?

goog questions! and all aournd Goog post! :cheer2:

Holy Cow! That's a lot of laundry.

Hey Moovers! Just popping in to say Hi. I am so ashamed that the time change kicked my butt like a ninja this week. One stinking hour totally messed with my head. :sad2: I am a huge wimp. I need time change combat training or something.

Hi Moovers!

Happy Friday!

BBN, hope things work out your way

Cel, you will find your prince!pirate:

Sandy, yay on gertting tons of laundry done in record time. :laundy: How did you manage to accumulate 14 loads?

Well, we had our layoff-get-more-details meeting today. Not a whole lot of things were learned. There were sub meetings with various groups. So for Resorts Finance, we lost about 6 positions it looks like, out of about 80. 2 were moved to other jobs, 3 were open positions that wont get filled, and 1 actual person was lay off. So overall, not a bloodbath. I was really surprised at the person they let go though.
In terms of what the future organization looks like, no info yet. They are waiting to see how Operations realigns with the new structure. I asked about the remark the SR. VP made about eliminating work, we cant do what we did in the past, blah, blah. So the VP today laughed and said, how many times have you heard that before? She has been here for 30 years. Anyway, then she added that maybe systems can help us (yeah, right!), and we just have to say NO to requests from Operators for customized reports. SURE! Sorry, General Manager, we have no time to do special stuff for you. Yeah, like that will happen!

I've been missing Pumba too, hope all is ok. And BH and RobIn!

wow Marita - I'd give you advice if I could -

I think I saw Pumba on another board - thanking people for helping mods with reporting spam?

(14 loads = 2 large washers and 14 dryers, jeans, towels, sheets, and clothes... because I treat laundramat as a competition, I tend to throw stuff in a dryer and move on fast!!! I got lost in where my stuff was, and started counting - Wed and Thurs are lots less stressful!)

ETA found her - from today:

Thanks, Sandy!

I hereby declare you the Laundry Queen :worship:

Hidey Ho, Moovers!!!

bbn - Sorry you are stressed about possible changes

Working in the environmental field, under Republican administrations, I have usually found that when such regulatory changes occur, things seldom turn out as badly as you expect. But people in my line of work tend to be much happier when the Dems are in charge.

Sandy! :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: I remember going to the laundromat with my mom as a kid. Surprisingly, laundry is the one household chore that I don't hate, LOL!

MommyP - My hubby has gotten rid of a few things using Craigslist. People can get pretty mad when they think they're the first person calling, but the item is already gone :sad2:

Twink - Yay for Spring Break!

Marita - I've gone through a couple reorgs that included layoffs. I was one of the lucky ones who just got moved to a different program instead of getting a pink slip. It turned out to be a good move. But some things really never do change! Fingers still crossed for your hubby.

WENDY!!! Goog to see ya! At least we know though FB that you're still kickin' it :)

Lynette - Your move :rolleyes1

I have two words for all y'all:

Snuggie Alert! Calling PJ!!!

On the Jimmy Fallon Show, they gave Snuggies to the entire audience tonight!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Too funny.

I don't get that. I tried selling my bridesmaid dress from my sisters wedding since it's nothing I'll ever wear again. But no bites. We were able to give our dog away on there though, so that was good.

If she sold it out from under us she could have just said so. Chad even told her we don't expect you to keep it if someone offers you more money.

Chad's working today. It's good to get some overtime. He already has 4 hours, so this will make at least 12. (some of which is going to have to pay bills because he couldn't get out of jury duty. Stupid. They don't care if you won't be able to make your bills if you miss work. I can't believe in this economy here where unemployment is the worst in the entire country they can't excuse the blue collar workers barely making it.) Anyway this would have been the perfect opportunity to be able to buy a crib. I guess the baby can sleep in a drawer.

Today was Farm Day at Echo. We've been looking forward to it for months. It's just one day a year and so much fun. Tours of the farm, free samples of the things grown there, face painting, seed planting...Echo is awesome! But we can't go without Chad. It's so crowded, I don't do those kinds of things by myself with the kids and involving my parents is even more stressful. My Dad's been out of work for well over a year now and the air around them is tension filled all the time.

There's always next year.

Good afternoon, Moovers.

I got a late night attack of energy last night and emptied the dishwasher, reloaded it with the few dishes we had (it's amazing how few we have since DD moved out, since we hardly ever cook).
Then I decided to make beef stew today and cut up all the veggies for it, so they are ready to go, w00t!

I'll have to see what else I can tackle today.

Have a great day!

Um, can I set you loose in my house? I am grumping around like an Ogre today.

Well, unfortunately I was not on the Jimmy Fallon show last night. I was, however, on a very different type of adventure. I call it "A Day in the Life of PJ." Please enjoy. ;)

So my mom, dad, little sister, and a few friends were driving to my parents' condo in Florida. They were leaving yesterday after school with plans to stop for the night in Nashville. I said, "why don't we meet for dinner in Louisville?" It was on their way. They agreed. So, we all had dinner, and then came back to my apartment to talk for a bit. When they were getting ready to leave, little sister asked me to come with. "What???" I said. "Why would I want to go to Nashville? It's not like I can come all the way to Florida!" She and I were overdo for a sisterly heart to heart, so she wanted to ride in my car, I would go to Nashville with them, enjoy the hotel, swimming, breakfast, etc. and then in the morning when they headed off to Florida I would head back to LooUhVull. I have a friend in Nashville so I called her to see if she would be available for hanging out today, and she was, so I said what the heck, I'll go!! I had nothing else to do and it sounded like fun.

So, we get about halfway between Louisville and Nashville. We're chatting, laughing, and having a really nice time. All of a sudden about 3 lights start flashing on my dashboard and black smoke starts billowing out the back of my car. There was so much smoke I really couldn't even see out my back window to pull over. Little sister yells out "I REPENT!!!!!!!" Thinking she was going to die. I kid you not. I got to the side of the road and mom and dad pulled over behind me. We called AAA and they called us a tow truck. Meanwhile the car is still smoking.

We waited for the tow truck. It's 11:00 at night. We're in the most redneck BP station ever. I think I saw more overalls than I've seen in my whole life combined. We waited. It's is now midnight. Then dad decides they need to leave. Excuse me???? Where are you going and where the heck am I going?????!!! He wanted to get to Nashville so he gave me some cash and said I could wait for the tow truck. Thanks, dad! :goodvibes :thumbsup2 As they left, I contemplated many things. I almost called a bbn to come rescue me, but it was, in fact, the middle of the night. Just when I had resigned myself to dying there, the tow truck arrived.

Questionable man steps out of tow truck. He was just as jolly as could be! I told him where I needed the car towed to and he says "oh, I've never been to Indiana, I couldn't possibly go to Indiana. I don't even believe in Indiana." What? You don't believe in Indiana? What's there to believe in? I finally show him where it's located on my GPS, and he agrees to tow the car. Who knew you had to talk someone into towing your car? :confused3 I was really hesitant to get in the truck with him. I was scared! And maybe crying....
I was like, "no, I can't get in your truck. Just tow my car, I'm calling my friend to come get me." I knew the bbn would love to get that phone call. He was actually really nice to me though. He told me to get his license plate number and give it to someone I know. That was his proof that he wasn't going to abduct me. So, I called Hollywood with it. Clem and I chatted all the way to Indiana.

So once we get there I said, "Well, I guess that was an adventure for you getting to come all the way to Indiana!" He turned to me and said "oh, I come to Indiana quite frequently. I love it here." Oh my. I thought he didn't believe in Indiana. So basically I think he was crazy. So now it's about 1:30am and I'm at a Volkswagen dealership near my apartment, but not super close. He says "well, I guess you'll need to call your friend now because I assume you don't live here." Then he changed his mind and asked me where I lived and offered to take me. Clem was actually quite nice. Perhaps it's a miracle I'm alive, but people get their cars towed all the time, right? I finally made it home around 2.

I am now car-less and the service department isn't open until Monday. The end.

Oh Peej!!!!:grouphug: <- HUGE Bear hug from me!!! :goodvibes I can't believe your dad left you on the side of the road at midnight! :scared1: Glad Clem was nice and not a stalker/abducter tow man. ;) Hope it's an easy cheap fix. ::yes::

Well, he probably would have stayed if I had really asked him to. They needed to get to Nashville. I was scared though.

I forgot this part of the story....when we got to Volkswagen, Clem asked me how I was going to pay him. I said credit card. I never carry cash. He said "oh, I only take cash." Why on earth would you ask me how I was going to pay if you only take cash????? Ding dong! I only had $10 in cash on me. Obviously it was more than $10. That wad of cash from dad more than paid for it though. So I got lucky in that sense.

PeeJ, YIKES! Ditto on your dad leaving you there. But then again, you disguise yourself as an responsible adult

Colour me PJ, but I'm confused. He towed you to Indiana, and you live in Kentucky? I thought Indiana = BBN, OK. But NO.:confused3

Hoping too its not too bad for repair bills and that you get a ride or good rental car deal. :grouphug:

Yay for Daddy cash wad! Otherwise, one word: AAA! Saved me multiple times.

And what would nice Clem have done if you didn't have the cash? Sell you into slavery??

PEEJ!!! What an adventure you had! :grouphug: Well, at least your dad left $$ for towing your car. Yikes.

We have a family member who has a wrecker service as part of his car dealership and I would imagine he comes across as being kind of gruff when he does late night calls. My FIL used to drive the tow truck when he was younger and would have to get up at all hours and even had to leave family dinners, etc. if his brother wasn't available. My hubby would go with him every now and then.

I sure hope it wasn't your engine or transmission  Is your car still under warranty?

You might want to check your insurance policy to see if covers a rental car :car:

MommyP - Sorry you couldn't make it to the farm day. Has Chad already gone for jury duty? They don't always make you come in or sometimes even if you do have to go in, you may not be picked to be on a jury.

Marita - You're putting me to shame! I just can't motivate myself to do any cleaning :sad2: I have a haircut later this afternoon, so at least I'll get out of the house today.

Moo, all I did was chop up some veggies last night, LOL. DH is bowling for Jr. Achievement. I was going to say I have no idea when he gets home, but he just called back to say he'll be home shortly and doesnt care what time we eat. So I think I will fry the meat now, then go get nails done (which I am wayyyy behind on) and then finish it up when I get home. Shouldnt take long in the pressure cooker.

I need a haircut too, my hair is about 2 inches too long, maybe more. I'm thinking about 4 pm tomorrow at Quick Cuts. That seems to be a fairly quiet time.

So anyway, off to to fry the beef for now...

PS: Moo, if I had a short style like yours, I'd be in real trouble. I am worse about haircuts than nails. Wich is why I have no style at all, LOL.
