Hi kids!!!!

So! I got me a spankin' awesome new laptop. It's crackalacka!

To bring anyone who gives a hoot:

New laptop = :cool1:
PSY101-- LOOOOVE, easy peasy. Tonight I have a talk to give: "Me in 60 seconds" where I have to make eye contact with all of my audience (audience!) and not fidget.
APP101--This is supposed to be the beginner computer class featuring Word, Excel, and Power Point. All I can say is: It's not easy! UGH. I can't figure out why the preset applications aren't good enough. WHY do we have to customize everything, I ask?

We are watching Mulan at the moment. I LOVE how Mulan can't spit and she says, "Ugh, I never want to see another naked man" after the bathing in the lake scene.

Norah and the other daycare buddy her age are singing, "A Girl Worth Fighting For"...except they don't know all the words and are just filling in the missing words with random vocalizations. I heart that!

Ok, I'm ALL caught up wit-chu all.

I'm cleaning today. Plus I had to give the kitten a bath. Strange I know, but we just cannot get rid of her fleas(store flea dip, collar and drops don't work) and we absolutely cannot pay $60 for a 3 month supply of the vet flea stuff. I can't believe how much that crap is now. So today I bathed her with baby shampoo because human shampoo kills fleas. Hopefully if I do that once a week for a while they'll all be dead. She's pissed at me now. :)

So I have to vacuum still. and it's a marathon laundry day because I didn't do any the last 2 days. Ick.

Yesterday I went with my sister to her appointment and asked the midwife to listen for my baby. I feel so much better now that I've heard a heartbeat!

Still no word from medicaid and now in the process of processing mine the idiot canceled 3 of the kids medicaid. Idiot. There medicaid shouldn't have been touched it was already in place!

If I get a denial letter saying I didn't submit my income verification in time you will probably hear my screams from where you all are.

Chad applied for a commercial electric job this morning. I guess this woman in his class(not too sure what she's doing in a class for electrical lol) works for this other company and told Chad to apply. He should hear something in a week. Not any better pay, but at least hopefully he can be learning something new.

He also applied for the Florida Department of Corrections. We are waiting for some info to be sent from Ga. to submit all the application crap to the recruiter. It would be really awesome if that worked out. He really needs a way out of construction and we really need a steady reliable pay check.

One more month until my sister finds out what she's having. I hope it's a boy. :snooty:

I mean really, if I can't have a girl, no one should be able to. :p

I just threw up. Thanks for that.

1. :cheer2: yay! a heartbeat.
2. That is going to cause a problem for the next generation.;) Here on the prairie we don't have enough boys. The first grade at our school is over 60% girls.
3. Good luck with the job stuff.:grouphug:

Utahmama- look at you stylin on your new laptop. As for your suppah plans... Tuna Surprise is a great name. :crazy2: Maybe I'll have Leftover Parfait ala malcolm in the middle. Heh.

twinks - I'm confused.
you're teaching botany -
which is plants -
and protista aren't plants or animals -
so are you lecturing on the plant like ones?
If so, photos from yellowstone showing the algae in the hot springs there would be interesting.
If I had my old photobook with me, I could scan my personal copies for you.
I really hope you're covering the animal like ones too -
cuz amoebas are my favorite!
When I doodle, I always doodle what I call amoebas.
Only I don't leave them clear - I fill them in with ink.
Maybe you could spend the lecture time talking about how weird your internet friends are. :sad2:

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4. True dat. It is the leftover kingdom. For reals. But it also has the multicellular algae and giant sea kelps which are plantish.
5. Yes- and the fungal like ones because even though they have their own kingdom, fungus gets thrown in to intro botany. Why? IDK. I just teach what they tell me. For example, we spend 2 WEEKs on protists and NONE on genetics/plant breeding/biotech. I am going to sneak that topic in though.
6. Good idea. I am looking for a you tube of a slime mold moooving 'cause I didn't think to culture so we don't have any live ones to look at.
7. I am supposedly re-writing my notes right now but here I am procrastinating.

b 1 and b2 - We should make thing 1 shirts to wear! :hyper:

Cpngratulations MommyP on your pregnancy! :goodvibes

Hello, hello every one else :cheer2:

who wouldnt love matching tshirts?

But not matchy-matchy. Heh.

Goooood afternoon, y'all. I am sneaking in some DIS time while CBM is scarfing down his lunch elsewhere.

BDG, I renounce your assessment of who posted as BDG 2.0, and reject your assumptions. So there! :snooty:

Twink, perhaps you could check the fridge in the faculty lounge for examples of whatever funk your latest lesson plan involves? I'm sure there must be a sample you could use......EEEEWWWWWW

Wendell, you have inspired laptop envy. Happy now? I am still suffering with my one-foot-in-the-grave Gateway. Poor thing. :sad2: I've been keeping my eye on sales, and am hoping to get something when we get our tax return. *sigh*

Cel, you doodle amoebas? I'm sure that says something about your mental state, but I'm not quite sure what. :scratchin Love ya anyway!

MommyP, YAY for a heartbeat! Ack for marathon laundry. My laundry is threatening to take over the 2nd floor of my house. That's what I'll be doing this weekend. Bleh.

Hiya LilBlue!

Hiya everyone else! :wave2:

Twinks: My journal I did last semester is sitting in room 309 at MCCC south campus waiting for me to pick it up. It had 2 pages on Kingdom protista with drawings.

BBN: I read about your scary night/patient thingy. Is everything still ok. sorry it was so stressful for you.

MommyP: I loathe case workers. I used to watch alot of kids that received day care assistance and sometimes it tooks months for me to get paid.
good luck straightening that out and thanks for the warning.

Hi Sandy! Blue!

Wendy! Nice laptop you R-O-C-K. I have that puter class right now too. My psych class is life span development.

Cold here. -15 with wind chills when we woke up. School still opened.

Baby is still sick. 2 weeks ago she had pink eye and ear infection. Took her back for her re-check, still has the ear infection in both ears and they suspect RSV. They did the nose swab, and sent her home with a breathing machine and a stronger anti-biotic.

No wonder I haven't sleep more than 3 hours each night this week. Her poor ears and lungs.

:laundy: I must attempt to do this today. Just very tired.

Hi Mony! Sorry about the baby being sick. Poor lil thing!

BackStage, has your Facebook book arrived yet?

Are any of the rest of you on Facebook as well? Real names will be a mystery to me

monymony, sorry your little one is sick

Hi MommyP!

I just found a Dell catalog, should I ship it out lalijack?

Its cold here, I'm ready for a heat wave. Over 25 degrees would be nice right about now :sunny:

LilBlue, almost all the ladies on the thread are on FB. The boys won't play along, but you can PM me if you want to be "friended". I'll add you and then you can check my friends list for everyone else.

Babynurse-:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Monymony-Thank you for the offer of your protist drawings. I am so sorry about the baby being sick. I know what ear infections with pinkeye is like. Sigh. I hope the RSV test is negative or if she has it that it isn't too bad. Scary stuff that. :grouphug:
Lynette- Goog to see ya. Fortunatelly the world is a big place full of some very geeky people who videotape and post all sorts of cool stuff like cytoplasmic streaming and slime mold infections in the wild and in bonsai. (Could I make this stuff up?) Funny thing, while I was searching for clips to show I had multiple windows open and ended up listening to the Imagination Movers while watching time lapse photography of mushrooms. It was strangely appropriate.
MommyP- Nice ticker. I haven't done laundry for days either. I was supposed to do that today. But I don't think I will have time now.

:thumbsup2 I saw who I think is MinnieMoo, but real names, I'm in a daze. yep. sounds great if anyone else is interested to be my "friend".

I smell a stinky, bbsoonish.

O

Great job BN :thumbsup2

my kids taught me how to do that. i'm so talented.

But not matchy-matchy. Heh.

true. that would be just plain goofy.

BBN: I read about your scary night/patient thingy. Is everything still ok. sorry it was so stressful for you.

she is pretty much stable today. her hemoglobin is up to 7 (after 4 units of blood and surgery to stop the bleeding) eta: normal hemoglobin is around 11 or 12.

yesterday was not a day for the weak stomached on the bbn floor. after the last unit of blood went in, i wheeled the iv pole/bag out of the room so i could dispose of everything properly and some guy in the hallway saw the blood hanging on the pole and practically retched.

sometimes the hardeset thing to do is keep your composure. you have to walk in the room like everything is completely under control, b/c you KNOW the patient and family are reading your face the moment you walk in.

so while i'm saying "i just talked to the doctor and here is what our plan of action is..." what i really want to do is sink to the floor and pray "God please make this stop"

BUT, I love being a bbn. Some days are scarier than others. and truth be told, i would much rather be trying to stabilize a mom than a baby. those little suckers are tricky. ACK!

MommyP:
maybe you can chillax on the couch while the boys and dad have a sammich night.

wendy: tuna surprise? sounds great?

Are any of the rest of you on Facebook as well? Real names will be a mystery to me
Some of us don't use our real names, which makes it confusing. And then I'm so stupid, I couldn't figure out who Nab was! even with a picture. and i've met her and know what she looks like.

1. But not matchy-matchy. Heh.
2. Cel, you doodle amoebas? I'm sure that says something about your mental state, but I'm not quite sure what. :scratchin Love ya anyway!
1. Michael wants me and him and greg to have matchy matchy shirts for our trip. ha!
2. wait til you see what I post next.
tee hee!

mony!!! Hope the baby gets better.

hi babycow.

I wanna see a slime mold! :hyper:

I didn't get the promotion.
:(
And breadman has a date not with me.
:(

Here's an example of my doodle.
cuz I love y'all.
Yes, I made michael take a cell phone pic (he had to delete one of his pictures to do so) and email it to me.
and he took more than one shot because he didn't like the first two.
:rotfl2:

Cell: :goodvibes Hugs! Matching shirts can be way fun. Sky's the limit.

Since Maddy is older, she shouldn't have a serious form of the virus. She's running around like nothing is wrong. I'm not worried. Much.

BBN: Did I tell you my 3rd C-section story?? No? OK!

Baby delivered. Doctor starts to put me all back inside and as he starts to stitch, each poke makes me bleed. He couldn't get me to stop bleeding. In the meantime my meds keep wearing off and they had to keep giving me more. Which wasn't helping.

time is passing and dr.s are poking their heads in asking if everythng is ok. Do you need some assistance. How would you like to hear that. I have complete faith in my Dr. don't get me wrong, but it was scary. I'm awake mostly and can hear the conversations going.

Then the Dr. gets on the phone and is calling people to come in and assist cause he has to put a drain in and he himself didn't have much experience with those at the time. The drain was necessary so they could close me and the extra bleeding had somewhere to go. (for those who are reading and are not a bbn).

I was on the operating table for 3 1/2 hours after Malorie was born for a c-section.

I love bbn's and bbd's. They know their stuff!
