Good morning,

We woke up here to SNOW here in the south again..

Of course I got woken up (at 1 am no less)by DS in college over in Charlotte to tell me it was snowing over there. Ummm...hello he doesn't understand the parental concept that a 1 am phone call from said son usually means a problem and moms heart pounding...not a call rejoicing over said white stuff. I think I was a little rude once I realized he was ok.

Then a call at 5 am from the school alert system telling us we have a 2 hour delay. Then another call at 7 cancelling the previous call and updating to a school closing...

I am so tired....

Guess I should have told you to cross your toes too.

Hannah was sick yesterday , throw up in her bed over night. But seems fine today. Then this morning I get a call from school to pick up Nicholas because he was throwing up. When will it stop..... Honestly they looked and acted fine when they went to school.

You people were very entertaining though. I read back.

Marita-- do they even have winter coats in Florida. We too are back in the deep freeze this morning.

P.J.-- that is pretty crazy about the TP. But I send in a box of kleenex every time they asked why not a roll of TP but a school of 700 kids would go though a lot of the stuff.

Moo-- glad you see another trip in the future even though Sept seems far away right now.

Nip/Tuck related banter. skip if not interested or not seen yet.

I totally agree, babycow. Poor lizzie! She was very accomadating - he was just doing it to see how far he could go.
and the robe bit! WHATEVER!
I finally saw last weeks - y'all didn't tell me Portia died!
or that she shot julia.
but I thought the ashes in the face bit was too much.

Maybe Hollywood could come babysit you. That would be a dream come true for you. A nightmare come true for her. You know I kid!

Marita
...30? In Orlando? It's like y'all actually have winter down there! I'm telling you, the world is coming to an end.

L...I give you mad props for not killing DH yet. And just think...if you have a snow day tomorrow, all 4 of you will be in the house together all day. :hyper:

Moo...excellent smiley speak!!

So today at our faculty meeting the principal was going over the budget cuts for next year. It's not pretty. It was all pretty boring but then she goes "and our paper towel and toilet paper budget is being completely cut." HUH????? Excuuuuse me? Come again?? :confused3 Yes, that's right, as of right now, there are no paper towels or toilet paper in the budget for next year. When someone asked what the carp (get it? heh) we're supposed to do she said "perhaps you can add toilet paper and paper towels to your supply lists next year." Now how would you react if you were reading your child's supply list and it looked like this?

5 notebooks
2 folders
pencils
erasers
5 rolls of toilet paper

COME ON...it's absurd!!!

That's not much different than the one that we got for preschool. It had paper towels, tissues, and wet wipes.

This made me giggle. Hope you made it to work despite the frigid temperatures today, Marita. It said 2 degrees when I got in my car this morning. That's just wrong. Cincinnati got another 5 inches of snow last night, though, so I guess I should be grateful we didn't get that.

Probably. And they might also question why you're tooling around LooUhVul with a Peejmobile full of Cottonelle. Ya think?
Maybe that should be my status on facebook. You know, just to get people thinking. "Lauren is tooling around LooUhVull with a Peejmobile full of Cottonelle." It really does have a nice ring to it.

Moo...I was just reading that about BLT opening early last night. How exciting!! You know you'll have to take lots of pictures when you go! It'll be cool to see the final touches being put in place when I am (hopefully) working down there this summer.

But don't you understand the college student concept that freaking your parents out is fun? In high school, my sister and I were required to check in with my mom when we got in at night to show that we had made curfew. We would always tip toe into her room as quiet as we could, not making a sound. Then, we would silently lean over her, tap her on the shoulder, and whisper "mom." This always made her FREAK out. She would jump 20 feet in the air out of bed like "what happened???? WHAT'S WRONG???!!!!" Ah. Good times. :lmao: If you were too loud coming up the stairs she would wake up and then the whole thing was ruined. You had to be really careful. She would get so mad at us. Of course, this was all my sister's idea.

Nab/Steph...That's actually what the principal said. Most of our supply lists include kleenex, liquid soap, etc. so why not toilet paper? That really just seems excessive to me.

Sorry about the sickness, Nab. Hope they're feeling better soon! :flower3: Mine have been spreading strep throat around. That scares me!

How was everyone's Wednesday? Mine was LONG. My kids were horrible. At one point I had one up on the radiator throwing pencils screaming "I HATE YOU!!!!!!" Had to call the security guard on that little bugger. I had another one tackle a child in the bathroom and split his lip open. You know, business as usual.

I made it to work, UGGHH!!
Still totally unmotivated after last weeks' Adrenalin rush and following drain. Asst # 2 was out today and will be again tomorrow, and knitfreak is teaching a class tomorrow afternoon and was off Monday and Tuesday and had to go prepare this afternoon, and of course we had last minute requests. GRRRRR!.
So I better go in tomorrow.
Friday is boss' last day before vacation for a week, so I better go in Friday. Or just tell him to call me at home, no different than calling me from across the lake... And I need to get gas in the freezing cold tomorrow morning........

No wonder my son quit teaching and joined the Air Force :rolleyes2 He had High School brats.

Only 2 more days till the weekend! :flower3:

I realize this is going to make me sound approximately 80 years old, but these kids just aren't the same as we were growing up. If an adult...ANY ADULT...told me to do something, the answer was "yes ma'am" or "yes sir." There were no questions asked. And whatever my teachers told me to do, I immediately did! These kids just don't care if they get in trouble or I call their parents or whatever. If a teacher had told me they were going to call my mom I would be terrified. I would know I had a butt whooping coming when I got home and it wasn't going to be pretty especially when dad found out! These parents just let their kids do whatever and get away with it. It blows my mind. I can't believe the way they talk to their parents. They tell them to do something and they say no. :confused3 If I had said anything but "yes ma'am" when my mom told me to do something I would have had another thing coming! Okay, I'm done.

Peej, there are lots of nice, smart and single guys available in the AF!

And they all say "Yes, Sir" or "Yes, Ma'am"

I know of a single guy.......... An Officer and a Gentleman (Not Joe, he's married)

OK, so you'd have to fall into some moats or something first.... Oh wait, you can't fraternize.( is that the right word? You cant date)....... NEVER MIND!

Bethipoo, I hear on the 1 AM phone call. I'd be ticked off too! Would scare the Dickens out of me (whatever that means)

Nabbie, so sorry about the kids being sick again. Hope they are better soon.

Wendy, Lexi, check in please!

Evening, all!

Nabbie - Poor kiddos! (And poor you having to clean up the beurk) :grouphug: Fingers AND toes crossed this time for them to get better.

Peej - Those cheeky little students!!! And bad parents. The noive of them . . .

LOLing over your curfew check-in technique. My daughter never did that, but she knew that I probably wasn't sleeping 'til she got safely home.

I am pretty excited that BLT is opening early. More importantly, I'm glad there's going to be lots of time to air out the new carpeting smell before my first visit. I saw pics on the DVC thread last night that shows a lot of rooms are already furnished :cool1: I wonder if they'll have cast members stay there initially to make sure all the "bugs" are worked out. Maybe you can use some of the 'rents' points to stay there soon too!

Marita - Hang in there, the week is more than half over. I picked up Chinese for dinner tonight because it's been a long work week already for me too.

Bethipooh - 1 am and 5 am??! Ouch. My DD is in NC but she fortunately doesn't feel the need to call to let me know it's snowed. Although I'm often still awake at 1 am, especially if I've had any caffeine :hyper:

Pumba - Did you get Megara checked out at the vet? Forgive me if I've skimmed over any update on that.

bbn - I can't believe you give THE DH a hard time over being a neat freak! I'd keel over if my hubby ever showed any Martha-ish tendencies.

There is a old George Carling on PBS right now. Really old at the beginning, he is young in suite a with tie and with short hair. WOW! I would never have recognized him. I think it will progress in time. It's on till 10:30 here.

Oh wait, that's not GC, it's someone talking about him

So I have that on while I go fix myself a toast with fried ham and egg and melted cheese sandwich.

Well, for being teh one who trademarked clarification, you are being rather obscure. maybe we should start talking in code. or pig latin. That's sure to un-obscure things.

igpay atinlay? why not REAL latin?

Maybe your psycho cat moved the cheese.
