Marita you are accomplishing a lot - just getting in the right frame of mind!! You know airports will sell lighters for a premium price - but I'm thinking you cant take them on a plane...

make sure you weigh your luggage/suitcase - I've been reading the Transportation board and airlines are strict with the weight limit (50#) and measuring - (one has a 61 inch one a62" - I'll know more when its closer to our time to go!)

dont forget to get chewing gum, and hard candy (lifesavers, cinnamon hot candy) and licorice to tide you over when you cant smoke!!

I have patches, nicotine gum, and chewing gum. 16.5 hours travel time plus a couple of hours at each end checking in and out, getting luggage and driving to final destination. UGGHHHH. So over 20 hours all together just in travel time.
I can just hear my mom now "You look terrible!"
Well, yeah, I've been up for 30 hours!!!!!!!!

I would feel so much better if my brother and SIL were going to be around during my stay, but they leave Tuesday for 2 weeks.

I could use some Pixie Dust for this visit.

we will miss you ......but Safe travels for you and think of us missing you lots!!

we will miss you ......but Safe travels for you and think of us missing you lots!!

Thanks, Pumba :flower3:

I'll miss you all too. I'll try to check in now and then.

Well, I think I got most of my packing done. Still have to print out some pics for mom, just on regular paper, and roll my hair and eat something.

I might actually make it!

I was cleaning out my wallet and purse of unneeded items, and guess what, I can't find the receipt for the laptop and antivirus and spyware programs!!!! I know I had it last night! Maybe I put it in a safe place? :confused3

So mom told me to dress well, as I will be under a microscope! :scared:

I only packed one blouse, I'm not even bringing the new ones I bought.

Weather conditions at home are high in the 50's, low 30's-40s, windy and rain.
Im bringing my sweaters!!!!!!!!

MommyP: I was made fun of, so I stopped reading his trip reports.

 Zubb made fun of you? How?

Just got back from the store. I dropped most the kids off at my Mom's and my brother came with me. We sat for 20 minutes, at least, to get gas. While we were sitting there, I was in the car and my brother was pumping, someone touched me through the open window. Scared me to death. It was Chad. He saw us sitting there on his way home and had the guy drop him off there. :lovestruc

Glad I got back on to wish you a safe trip Marita!!! That sounds like our weather. :lmao:

We had storm yesterday with hail and it killed our internet. Had one big crack of thunder and knocked everything out for awhile. We had to get a new modem and then the computer wouldn't work with it. Hubby got it working though before he went to work tonight. My wireless isn't not though.

Mommy P--your lucky your didn't hit Chad by mistake.

1. Lyneeeeetttteeeee, this is soooooo totaaaallllllyyy a signnnnn!!!!!!! Bbn and I will commence trollop preparations. Whatever the heck that means. :rolleyes1

2. I am off to accomplish my goals of physical fitness and laundry. Thrilling, I know. What better way to spend a day off?

1. Ack! Yes, you have it DOWN! I applaud your uncanny ability to be annoying.

Please commence with trollop preparations. I would think that this will involve the scoping out of restaurants, if the BBN is to be involved.

2. Well, I could think of several things that might be better. Shall I PM you the list?

Marita, I can't remember what time your flight is tomorrow, so I want to wish you bon voyage now so that I don't miss the chance. I'm sending pixie dust, and hoping you'll end up enjoying your visit despite any adverse influences. :flower3:

Thanks, Nab and BigL!

My flight leaves at 12:40, I think, so will probably leave the house about 11. We only live 10 mins from the airport. From where I USED to be able to go directly to my destination city. Now I have to go to Chicago and Switzerland before getting there. And then it's an hour trip from there.

I think I got most of my stuff done. Tried to print out pics from photobucket, but I am having technical problems, dont know why :confused3

Got my hair colored, but i havent looked to see how it turned out. Too late now!
DH made some frozen pizza earlier today. I heated it up later, added some cheddar cheese (not good), and then put in under the broiler for a bit. So it got a tad burned, but not bad, really morr crispy than burned.
Then I went to add some red peppers from a jar. Except the screening lid got stuck to the top lid, so half the bottle of red peppers poured out!!!!!!!!

So I'm eating what is left that is edible. which is plenty for me anyway.

OK, back to trying to print pics and then I have to curl my hair....

OK, I think I am losing my mind.....
I swear things keep changing on me.
So I dont leave till 3:20 tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!

Fine, haircurling is relegated to tomorrow.

Marita--Do you mean 3:20 in the afternoon or 3:20 am?

:lmao: Better than accidentally calling Obama, Osama.

LOL! Did she really wink at the camera? She's too cute to be vise president. You have to be a manly woman like Billery.

Did anyone catch Mrs. The King's last update and her "stinky little minkies"?
LOL, on the Obama vs. Osama, MP! She winked A LOT at the camera ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

But overall, she did much better than I was expecting. I had forgotten that bit about Biden's losing some of his family members, so it caught me off guard when he got choked up about that.

I need to get over to the TR board to catch up on the Jiggler's latest episode! Seeing as how Marita got me hooked on reading it :rolleyes1

Lexi...I wanted to go to WDW for Halloween because we have 4 days off school and I'm taking a personal day to make it 5. I initially wanted to go because Hollywood so badly wanted me to see her in the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, but I have since been deemed not a good candidate for that event. So, now I am going to WDW, but skipping the Universal thing. My parents are letting us use their DVC to stay at Saratoga Springs and I got a pretty cheap airfare, so I decided to go for it!
LOLing about your not going to HHN. I'm not fond of being scared either. w00t on staying at Saratoga Springs!

And YAY on the time off!!!!! :dance3:

She's still being Ariel. And Anastasia. She just really needed some extra money, so she started doing this AFTER work since it's in the evenings.
Good to hear that. I was kind of wondering! Hope she's doing better now

I have today off to get my packing and whatnot done, since I leave tomorrow. But I stayed up till 2:45 am, so I didn't get up till 10, and managed to kill time reading the paper and DIS so far. So I better get mooving................
I always stay up too late right before vacation. I read your later post and it sounds like you made some good progress.

Don't you need to be at the airport at least a couple hours before international flights? After cutting things way too close on my way home from WDW last time due to the super long security lines (and having to traipse back there because I forgot to pick up one of my bags ), I'm not chancing that again in December!

Even though I know you'll probably be around a while longer, HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!!!!

Sandy!!! Glad things have simmered down with your daughter :) That sand mandala looks pretty cool.

Mony - I don't read those particular TRs any more either

Nabbie - Boo on losing your internet. I was wondering where you've been!

L - I'm off to check you the game that shall not be mentioned so as not to offend the bbn!

Twink and Lil G - Nice philosophizin'!

Thanks, Moo!
I made some progress today indeed, not perfect, but decent.
And my flight from Orlando is to Chicago first, so not technically an international flight. I arrive in Chicago at 5:15pm and depart at 7:10 pm. Wonder if I will have a chance to go outside for a smoke before my 9 hour flight? and I only have an hour from there to duesseldorf, so chances are slim there.

Here is hoping that patches and gum work, and I dont go nuts!!

That reminds me, I need to pack that $50 quit smoking miracle ebook I bought a few months ago :rolleyes1

Marita - Have a wonderful time with your mama. It will be a LOONNGG trip for you, but you can make it. Just remember you have all your "imaginary" friends coming along with you in spirit. :goodvibes

Oh, and it's FALL BREAK!!!!! :woohoo: We are going to enjoy this one because the "rumor mill" has it that this will be our last one. Our school board isn't overly fond of it, and it seems that the state of AL is trying to mandate that we can't start school before Aug. 10th. Anyway, we don't have any school until October 13th!!!!!

Thanks, Allie!

I'll think of all my Dis friends. Hopefully all will go well.

I looked at my hair finally. Well, the gray got covered ok, but it's too dark. So good thing I am leaving later than I thought, I will get another shower and shampoo in, hopefully that will help (and no just wash the color out to re-expose the gray).

I am starting with Nights in Rhondate (sp) for my trip. I also have Danielle Steele's "Sisters" and some Stephanie plum book. Plus a puzzle mag. Plus mags on the plane. And movie, whatever that might be. And hopefully get some sleep. I hope that's enough to tide me over.

Marita, maybe there will be a bar area that you could nip into instead of trying to go outside! Be sure to wave at Sandy when you're at O'Hare!

Allie - That's a nice long break! Hope your family is able to do something fun :cool1:

I don't think they allow smoking anywhere inside these days, SIGH!

But I'll wave:  Sandy! Wave back around 5:15 tomorrow.

Moo

Marita I forgot you booked a flight that brought you to Chicago!! Tomorrow? 5:15 (knock on wood, no adverse weather forcasted!!! ) Do you come in deplane, and then go to the International airport? I live 1 1/2 away from Ohare, but my mind is trying to figure out if I could swing a 10 - 20 meet up with you... I do have books!! :)

remember "I love you mom"

Nab

drama free tonight - dd decided to go to Saturday School tomorrow (8:30am) and she took a nap :scared1: Mind you this child didnt nap when she was 2 MONTHS old - so yeah, this bugs me.... (and she usually stays up with a flashlight reading until midnight - or 2am, not uncommon for my dd - and still gets up for a 6am - 6:30am wake up call.... never... I mean NEVER naps!)

Dh is making a spreadsheet about spending money and dining vs dining plan... I so do not want to give up my adrs!! I just know this is our last vacation!!

Hi Sandy! :wave2: Glad DD is doing better. Someday we have to get our "two peas in a pod" together. They sound like they are so much alike. Oh, and Baby Jackson is in the Special Care unit at Children's Hospital in B'ham. They think he may have a knot in his intestines now. So they were having to do an upper GI on him, so he had to be transferred to the Children's Hospital for that. They think that his heart meds may not be absorbing into his body since he is spitting up so much. It works well while he's in the hospital 'cause it is going in thru an IV. So, hopefully they can get to the bottom of this and get him healthy. All of this developed just since I talked to you yesterday. :confused3

Moo - Yes we LOVE  our Fall Break! The kids at preschool were even ready for Fall Break today. They seemed louder and messier than normal. Oh, and I had to be the helper/music teacher/clean up gal today. Yes, I was ready for Fall Break too. I was willing to be the one gal clean up crew because my boss was issuing our checks so that we could have them before Fall Break. :thumbsup2 We had hopes to go to NYC for Fall Break, but it was just too cost prohibitive. :sad1:

Sandy, I think I get off at ORD (whatever that is) and then check in at ORD 1:55 hrs later. I don't think that's enough time for a meet, as I am sure I will be stressed :scared:
I think I am going crazy! I thought I had 3 hours in Chicago, but I dont. I thought I paid $1,049, but now it says $949. I thought I was leaving at 12:30 tomorrow, but it's not till 3:20:rolleyes:

They're coming to take me away, HEEHEE HAHA HOHO :dance3:

We can meet up when youi are in Disney.
