Breaking news!

I just asked DD if she was going to Jacksonville this weekend to see her BF She said no, she just got DUMPED tonight!

I said, oh no, what happened??????? She said, "Mom, do I look like I want to talk about it?" So I gave here a hug and let it go. I had my doubts it would work out long distance, but it's only been a couple of months.

This is the BF she graduated from college with in May and took a 3 week trip to Europe with his parents and sister with.

I guess the crockpot that was on loan until (or in Dd's words "IF we break up") will be ours for good. I doubt anyone will make an effort (2 hour drive each way) to return or recover it. Not that I care about that, I never made a crockpot meal in my life. Just that 2 weeks ago, her attitude was "IF" we break up, and now it's over.

Oh NO! That's rough :guilty:

MommyP- You are soooo cute! I love the yellow and I don't even like yellow. You and Isaac look great. He is lapping Grasshopper in weight and skillz. Lil G shows no signs of taking steps without furniture. He does climb stairs with speed and stealth.

Hi Nab- here is the sling MP made for me
th_olympus003.jpg

He likes it but the whole put the baby in the sling and push the preschooler in the stroller does not work for me.... because The Baby keeps trying to lean out of the sling to push the stroller. :goodvibes

Have you tried placing him facing forward kind of cross legged? That worked for Pissy and Riley at age 12-18 months.

Oh, Marita! That's kind of a shock about your daughter's break-up

Wendy, et al - I'm heading over to check my games . . .
[/QUOTE]

I think Face Book is completely jacked at the moment.

MommyP- I dug up all my diaper service diapers and some decent covers (LOTS) and you are welcome to them. I can't stand the thought of using them as rags. Some ARE rags if you need them. Today I cleaned the basement clutter and found all kinds of things I don't need anymore. Shoot, we should seriously have a yard "sell" before the weather changes.

When I'm stressed, I either compulsively clean or compulsively bake. I did the basement better than it's ever been, and now (literally NOW) am making lemon bars...that I will not partake of at all thanks to my diet. Stupid diet!

:lovestruc with a nice dusting of powered sugar planned when they cool a bit.

Yay, looks like Ike might miss Florida! Hope it misses other places too.

Hi...is Ike going staight into Mexico? Its still misty out side...I just got to my sisters house for the big football game and tailgate party before and after the game. Go Cards...lol

Marita - I just found on the Codes and Rates forum where free dining is being extended for packages with check-ins on 9/28 - 10/11.

Pumba - Any new word on Brielle?

GOOD MORNING!

It's been a busy week. Spent my Friday evening with the den moms planning for the next month of Cub Scouts. But they were fun and goog ladies.

Gotta go in to work this morning for a little while to meet the computer geek guy so that we can get the new server and printer hooked up to the network. All the partners and interns bill for their time so I didn't feel right doing the set up during billable hours. Hope it doesn't take long.

Still considering the January trip for Mimi and me. Guess I'd better call to book the room. I'm wondering it there's any availability before Jan. 3 due to the holiday crowds??

Marita....I guess the crowds are down if they are extending free dining? Or does the weather cut into profits with all these hurricanes? So sorry to hear about DD's break-up. He seemed like a really good guy. If it's meant to be it will work out in the end. AND....I had about 6 of those muffalettas when we stayed at POR last year. We cashed in for 3 to eat on the way home...for the 5 of us. I love their pasta salad too.

Twinkie....I couldn't find the post about the Dec. vacation? What's the deal? I'm hoping my bosses will be understanding about a Jan. vacation since we have the entire week between Christmas and New Years off/paid.

Celery
....Congratulations on being removed from someone else's mortgage! :yay:

Lynette.....I HATE it when the parents don't pick up on time from the play date! Because at some point I become tired of being nice to other people's kids! ;) Did she have a goog excuse?

Wendee....I need to call you. I need details.

Monica? House party? Whaaa?

Hound....Go cards. Indeed.

MommyP....Cute sling and sling models!

BNCG....Did PJ get a computer yet? Does the kid's roommate not have a computer? I can't believe she's gone this long without the internet.

NAB.....How's school?

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Have you tried placing him facing forward kind of cross legged? That worked for Pissy and Riley at age 12-18 months.

Isaac loves to sit like this. Even though he's kinda old for it(according to most wearing directions) He is so squished and comfy. It's just annoying to deal with everyone's questioning stares and comments like,"Isn't he uncomfortable? Are those his legs up there?"

YES! PLEASE send them!!!! I found myself down to just a few diapers yesterday before washing. :scared1: And I'm ALWAYS down to my last cover.

Moo - I do not like the New Facebook either.

Luther
- Sorry about having to go into work today.

We need to mow the lawn today before it's so long you can't see the house anymore. ;)

I'm just waiting on Chad to get up.

:surfweb: Good morning, sunshines! I am waiting for word that Boris' first soccer game is canceled (please, Lord!), since it rained all night and everything is sloppy and muddy.

1. Gotta go in to work this morning for a little while to meet the computer geek guy so that we can get the new server and printer hooked up to the network. All the partners and interns bill for their time so I didn't feel right doing the set up during billable hours. Hope it doesn't take long.

1. YOU are the perfect employee! How dedicated and conscientious of you to go in on a Saturday so that this doesn't affect billable hours!

2. Call, already! I am living vicariously, y'know! I'll add you to the list of people that includes Mony, Moo, and Peej through whom I can do so. See comment #1 regarding geting the time off!

3. No good excuse. Just a sheepish smile and a quick, "Sorry, I really pushed it to the limit, huh?" Grrrrrr! FYI, this child is the sort who lapses into cutesy baby talk when she's playing. That gets old in about 4.9 seconds, so by the end of the evening, I was ready to pitch her out onto the driveway! Is that bad? ;)

4. I know that Peej had some car troubles this week which put the kibosh on her plans to buy a laptop. Bad, bad, bad. Especially b/c that means she has to stay way late at school every night to do lesson plans and such. :sad2:

 :snooty:

YAY! Coach's wife just called to say that the league canceled all games for the day!

I shouldn't be so happy, but I REALLY didn't want to sit on a muddy field full of puddles and mosquitoes. Besides, it was supposed to be an away game at a really carpy field.

Anyway, wahoooooo! :woohoo:

Were loading up the Pathfinder to head off to the Tailgate Party....wish the Cards good luck for us today :goodvibes:

Oh BTW does anyone shop at Meijers??? go to Walgreens and find some of there $1 off 3 Poweraide Zero mgf. coupons and take them to Miejers and buy 6 PZ'z and use two coupons and they give you 2a 4 doller Meijer bucks coupon to use on your next purchase + $2.25 profit each time...I did it 7 times last night....lol... :thumbsup2:

Thanks for that trip down memory lane, Joe!

If I get another copy of the first cast newsletter from opening day, I will have to post it. Prices from 1971 :rotfl:

Stop by more often.

Celery-- what is a quit claim deed? I'm guessing it is a good thing by Moo's post.
It's a legal document that gives up the rights to a piece of property. My evil ex roommate refinanced yesterday so I'm officially off of the mortgage! woo!

I saw big hair and deep fried twinkies and deep fried oreos.
I hope you kept all the little twinkies (especially the helpful grasshopper one) away from the vat of oil!!!! :scared1:

Just checking in from the coffee shop.
Talk to y'all later!

Thanks, Cel.

It always hurts a mother when their kids are hurting. But I had my doubts about this long distance thing working in the long run. Just come along faster than I
thought, because he was off on trips for a good while.

She is only 23 (almost 24), so she has plenty of time to find someone.

Hi Moovers! :wave2:

Sorry I went MIA on you. I just survived the first week of preschool. Not so bad. The little Korean boy was back, and puking as usual. :scared: Actually, he is much better than last year, so hopefully, he'll get into the swing of things soonish.

Also, I had varicose vein surgery yesterday. It wasn't bad, and I got pretty good drugs to deal with it. :cloud9: I did a lot of snoozing yesterday, but feel better today. I have to wear the compression hose for two weeks. I had my left leg done yesterday, and will have my right leg done next Friday (12th). It isn't supposed to be as big of a deal as this one was. It just feels like I have a sore muscle in my left leg. It did bleed quite a bit when I got up off the table. Luckily, I brought my backup hose or I would have had to buy another one.

Oh, and my DD and DH went out and bought a 10 gallon aquarium. I got to put the cabinet together Thursday night. They went out last night and got some new fish to put in it. The one that DD picked out has a Mickey head on its tail. :thumbsup2 I think she has named it Minnie. I'm rubbing off on DD. :goodvibes Here's a picture I found:

Hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to check in, but I'm busy at work because I'm covering time for my coworker. She had a baby on Aug. 26th, and then she had to have a pacemaker put in on Thursday. She is doing fine now, but we are very shorthanded for the first week of preschool.

Hi, Allie, thanks for checking in. Wow, vericous vein surgery sounds scary, glad it went well. YAY for goog drugs:dance3:

Howdy, Moops,
I've been having a strange puter issue, my mouse would work, then stop, then drag, then go out, then back on, yada yada yada. Turned out to be the batteries, but I had changed batteries with a flashlight, camera, and clock and none had helped. Then when I switched them back, nothing worked. So I bought a $5 pack of 20(gotta luv Dollar General Store) and got everything going again.
At work Tueday a rumor broke that they were going to fingerprint everyone and use that to punch in. I kept telling people, no they can't do that. It would be a six point finger scan. Everyone thought I was nutz. I told them Disney does it with tickets, and besides fingerprints aren't allowed to be used. So in our paystubs yesterday is an explanation of the FINGER SCAN and how it uses six points to identify you. Now I'm a flipping genius at work. hehehehehehe.
Lint, mud is the best way to play soccer. Never cared to play when it was dry, but flood the field and I was there. We prolly had the only neighborhood in the south in the sixties that played backyard soccer. My neighbor was a rec major at uofl(for BH) and taught us lots of different games. But Lacrosse came from my cousin that played at UPenn. He went there to play football but got cut and was required to play something.
Joe, I have some of that stuff somewhere around here. And I have a 1977 map of the MK hanging on my hallway wall. I luv that kind of stuff.
MommyP, if someone says he looks uncomfortable, just tell them he hasn't complained yet. Then  .

Thanks Marita. It is done by a laser. The worst part is the Dr. putting the laser in my vein. I felt it, and it did hurt, but the Valium helped me not to care very much. :rotfl:

Next week will be done by injection, so it isn't supposed to be as invasive. I'm hoping to have beautiful legs when I am done. :cool2:

Oh and WENDY, my DD has a school project that involves the 50 states. Each child was given a state that they have to make a postcard for. Guess what state she got.......UTAH!!! So if you have any special fun fact so share about your glorious state, please share. ;) It might help her get some extra credit.

DTD - That's basically what I do. I usually just look down at him and say,"He doesn't seem to mind." ;)

Today Chad and I rode to my sister's on his motorcycle to get our hair cut. It was fun. It was hot, but not humid. Beautiful clear blue Florida sky. A "Disney Day". We also got my bottle brush tree planted.

Tomorrow after church we need to bring my camera to Circuit City to see what the hecks wrong with it.

Wendee....I need to call you. I need details.
What details? Seriously nothing going on. Honest!
House is STILL for "sell".

MommyP- I think I need your addy again. I have your old one. I will wash it all in mild detergent with no bleach or fabric softener. You can re do if you want. :laundy:

Yay! So glad it'll a be going to a great home. Whatever you don't want or cant use, you can donate.
I think I still have some NB sized dipes too which make great doublers.

Fun fact huh? When's this project due?
I'll get you some super cool fun facts, sister!

Off the top of my head here ya go:

The LDS Temple is the most recognized landmark in Salt Lake City. Construction started in February of 1853 and took 40 years to complete. The walls of the building are made from granite blocks hauled from a canyon twenty miles away. The railroad didn't enter the valley until the 1860s so many of the blocks were hauled by horse teams. The base of the temple walls are nine feet thick.

The interior walls are made luminous by the addiction of crushed and powdered china donated by many many early pioneers. I've seen this "in real life" and the walls really sparkle beautifully.

Did some googling too:

#The average snowfall in the mountains near Salt Lake City is 500 inches (over 40 feet!) - that is nearly five times the average snowfall of Juneau, Alaska.
# Vernal, Utah has an interesting claim to fame: The Bank of Vernal, built in 1919, is the world's only bank constructed from bricks sent by post. When Vernal bricklayers shopped around, they found out that shipping bricks via the U.S. Postal System was far cheaper than transporting them from Salt Lake City.
# Several northern Utah towns have outdated (and rather strange) laws still on the books. For instance, it is illegal to enter a Kaysville convenience store after dark without identification; women may not swear in Logan; throwing a snowball in Provo will incur a $50 fine; and in Salt Lake City, it is illegal to walk down the street carrying a violin concealed in a paper bag.
# In 1875, with the intention of creating a money-making tourist attraction, James Wickham decided to bring whales to Great Salt Lake. He had two 35-foot Australian whales shipped to Great Salt Lake (by boat to San Francisco and then by rail to Salt Lake City) wherein he released them. Off they swam, never to be seen again! Though there have been several alleged whale sightings, scientists believe that they could not have survived the lake's high salt content.
