1. OK, Lynt, sometimes your honestly make me crack a rib or two from laughing!
May I steal that and claim it as my own for casual use IRL?
You KNOW I was shrieking and wringing, riiiight?
I DO love (well maybe not "love"; more like "appreciate") that bats eat bugs.

2. Maybe they should let-loose a crap load of bats to take care of Florida's love bug problems?

1. Thank you kindly! I do what I can to keep you people amused. At my own expense, even. Feel free to claim my material for use IRL, but remember...it's TM'd for the DIS. ;)

Thank you for condoning and furthering my melodrama. Who doesn't love to be validated by one's friends?

I appreciate bats too. I'd just like to appreciate them from a greater distance!

2. They can have my bat if they like. He liked my house so much that he came back last night! :scared1: I KNOW! DH figured out that the little bugger was getting in through a space near our A/C window unit in our room! I had him duct tape it six ways to Sunday, so I think we're goog now! Also, instead of releasing the bat this time, he took it to Animal Control. Our cat was alone with the bat for several minutes, so Mr. Bat will need to be tested for cooties.

OK, I think i need to adopt Alice :teacher: But I think I have a vague memory of Edward being rescued from a poor hospital.
I think he was in that hospital because it was an epidemic - they were still wealthy.
Meeting went well yesterday. I think they like me!
DUH! Of course they like you!

I wanna see Trophic Thunder really badly! The last movie I saw was Stepbrothers and it was "Meh".
That's cuz you didn't have any cough syrup before you went. I had several doses of "cough syrup" and I laughed like a hyena! Especially at the balls scene.

a BAT got into the house!
EEEK! and Ack!

The funny thing is, my mom told me about it yesterday, but she wasn't sure which person had a bat in her house. Here's how the conversation went:

CelMama - The shower went well. (Meaning Sandy's)
Me - That's good.
Mama - Did you read about the family that had the bat in the house?
Me - No, I haven't checked in all weekend. Who was it?
Mama - I think it was Natasha's mom. What's her online name?
Me - I don't know! I can't remember! It's Lynette if it's Natasha's mom, but I'm drawing a blank on her username!

Me and my mom are special. We can't remember usernames, but we know which kid belongs to which family. :lmao:
She's just now remember Nab's name - she usually says "Nicholas and Hannah's mom."
And that's always followed up by "They are such sweet kids!"

SHOWER IS DONE!! But everyone came, and had fun!
Yay! Too funny on the feeling the leg. I've never heard of that game before but it sounds like fun.

I seriously doubt the 'strafing the head' story.

What does this mean?
Have you been to Carlsbad to see the bat flight?
It's pertty darn spiffy!

The Twilight author is LDS, and these are "good" un-dead (if THAT helps!)
Cuz we all know that Mormon vampires are "good."
:rotfl:
(they really are though - no killing humans, no sex before marriage, no drinking)

Not sure if I'll enjoy it as much as the Boleyn books, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

2. Listen, Bindi the Jungle Girl, don't go waxing poetic about bats on me when all I really want is for you to be horrified on my behalf! Yeah, they do a service to the community by eating bugs, yada, yada, yada.....I already heard this from the DH. From you, I want shrieking and wringing of hands! Got it?
I HATED the other boelyn girl.
and you are heeelarious!

:faint: I do not feel any kinship or fondness toward vermin of any sort. I scream equally loudly at spiders, snakes, moths, bats, mice, etc.
I like non harmful yucky things. Well, not LIKE, but don't scream.
Like June bugs and moths and grandaddy long legs.
They don't make me scream.
Roaches and mice and spiders make me scream if they are in my area unexpectedly.
Silverfish do not make me scream, but they are DISGUSTING.
When I squish them, I expect them to crunch but they're soft.
Ick!
And I love bats, but not in my home.
So I would've been shreiking with you.

#2 is I INHALED one once.
I bet you inhaled two.
and they were doing it.
tee hee.

Our cat was alone with the bat for several minutes, so Mr. Bat will need to be tested for cooties.
Your cat gave the bat cooties?
Eww!

Hi all!

Celerystalker you are telling all of our secrets.

Bats can be bad. They carry Rabies.:scared1:

Pumba how is the baby doing. Here's a hug for her.:grouphug:

Thanks, Celerymama!

The good news is that Fay is now projected just to be a tropical storm, not a full fledged hurricane WHEW!

Still, it's heading right for SW Florida (MommyP) and Orlando :scared:

Disney is opening early tomorrow to allow guests more time in the parks, DTD, Disney Quest and AMC because heavy rains are expected in the afternoon. Most school districts are closed tomorrow in the area. Work as usual for people like me.

So DH cut down that dead tree this weekend. I have about 10 big trashbags full of dead wood sitting on the curb. The trash people didn't pick them up today.Probably not till Wednesday when they pick up yard stuff. So there they sit! Ready to be blown at the nearest car or house!
Patio furniture is still outside. I asked DH what about getting it inside? He said IF he makes it home tomorrow ( he HAS to be on Hurricane ride-out), he and I will move it to the garage (yeah, like where in the garage???). Otherwise DD and I will have to do it. I have absolutely no muscles!!!!!! DH diwowned the patio furniture, he said he cut down the tree (true!)
Well, let's hope it just stays a storm.

Wendy - Who needs a 72 hour kit when your parents have a generator? I bought 4 D batteries for our one flashlight and some AA for our weather radio.

Twinkie - Check your email and see when the package is expected to be delivered!!

I had an order to be delivered today, but it's not here yet. So I have my doubts.

Hey,MommyP!

What's the outlook for you down there?
Nice that the parents have a generator, but it must get awfully crowded there!

What does this mean?
Have you been to Carlsbad to see the bat flight?

Nope. I haven't been there though I would like to. Have you seen bats flying into people's heads? My experience is that bats are smart and really good fliers. We only recaptured one bat the whole summer and that was because someone threw it back into the net instead of the air.

I am not saying it couldn't happen just that it wouldn't be normal for a healthy bat. They have freakishly good eyesight in addition to the whole sonar thing.

Good idea MP. :thumbsup2

*thinking of all ya'll floridians*

Evening, all!

Marita and MommyP - Please keep us posted on the weather situation! I was watching the Weather Channel earlier and it was looking rather nasty even if it doesn't turn out to be a hurricane (fingers crossed)! Stay safe.

So, Twink - Should we be calling you batgirl now?! You sure have had some interesting jobs!!!

Lynette - Maybe you need one of those bat houses to provide a hospitable place OUTside for your bat friends :)

Cel and C-Mama - Your posts today cwacked me up! :lmao:

Cel, your post cracked me up!

MamaCel, rabies was my concern too! BTW, don't worry....your secrets are safe with us!

MommyP and Marita, hope Fay turns out to be only a minor inconvenience. Be safe!

Twink, you would have been proud of Boris earlier today. He was recalling a unit of study from the past school year, and gave us all a brief but informative lesson on bats' use of echolocation. Oy.

Moo, according to my DH, there seems to be a colony of bats in the woods behind our house. I'm thinking that maybe that's close enough. :scared:

Lynette, an associate from our sister resort was totally excited today to experience a hurricane!
Of c ourse he is leaving to go home to Wisconsin on Monday! No skin off his teeth!

So Just for his sake alone, I hope Fay fizzles out. Hee Hee!

But mostly for the rest of us left behind. So far no rain here.

If it rains tomorrow, I still might call it a day of working from home. I can't see in the heavy rain very well anymore.

Pumba, how is your eyesight now? I think I need that dang cataract stuff done.

:rotfl: I've been called worse. ;) The summer of the bats was very interesting.

1. I am proud of Boris!
2. A colony! you lucky duck!!!! We used to get bats when we lived in NC- more in the street than the back yard. I would love a colony of bats! Aaaah. A colony means mamas and babies. The grown men just like to visit the colony to socialize and prefer batchelor roosts.

Time for the obligatory drive-by PJ post!!!

I hear Marita is paying to get bbn and my computers fixed. I am SO happy to hear that. Thanks, Marita, I owe you one!! I'll buy you a Western omelette at Pop next time I'm in town. :thumbsup2 Just in case Marita falls through, I am thinking once I get a couple of paychecks I can afford to get the old laptop fixed or get a new one or somethin. FIRST PAYCHECK COMES FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

DTD....where are you??? Bbn and I tried to stalk you at the fair yesterday, but the women in the gyro booth said you were on break!! It was only once I got up to the booth that I realized I didn't know your first name. Asking if a DTD was working seemed a little strange.

School has been going well. Most of my little buggers are great kids and we have no problems. I of course have the high maintenance kids, but I've been laying down the law. Mostly I am just TIRED!!!! I have no idea how I taught all day last year and then went to class all night AND kept up with class work. :faint: Can I just say I am glad those days are gone?

I miss you guys and I hope to be around more once I have a computer in my apartment!!!! Hope everyone's doing well.
:grouphug:

PJ!!!!!!!!!!

Great to hear from you!!!!!!!

When did I volunteer to get your and BBN's computers fixed? I might have had another blackout about that one.

Happy to hear classes are going well for you! We miss you around here!

Thanks for stopping to report in!

See, you're not exactly arguing that you didn't say it at some point, so that means you might have. Follow my logic? You just don't remember. Trust me on this one. K? I'll pm you my new address and you can just mail a check. I even promise to give BBN her share of the check. :rolleyes1 What a friend I am!!!
