Marita, as much as a pain my job can be at times, I think I'd rather have my job than yours!!! With the obvious exception of having the parks so convenient . . .

Hope you get a decent lunch tomorrow. I have built up my stock of soups, crackers, PB, and granola bars at work so I can easily eat something decent if work gets crazy.

I have a site visit tomorrow, so that will be a change of pace. I haven't had a work day away from my cube for a while.

Night!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DTD!!!

Hope your birthday is full of wonderful surprises and lots of joy!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Big day today....Mimi's college orientation. I took off work and we have to be there at 7:30ish. Got the other kiddos all taken care of since it lasts til 5:00 p.m. Wish us luck!

RE: Lunch at work....we had a nice church member who dropped off some cash this week to buy lunch for the staff. We ordered a tray of wrap sandwiches and two wonderful cakes. Then the generous man called yesterday and said he was bringing breakfast too. We are well fed in our office. Makes me wish I had a million dollars and could spend my day going around doing nice things for people.

Hound....My neighborhood Mexican place has 2-fer-1 margaritas twice a week. That's when my girlfriends and I always go but I think my restaurant measures the ta-kill-ya with a thimble instead of a jigger because you've gotta drink 3 or 4 before you feel it. I guess that's why they're so cheap.

Monica....We're here for ya, honey! Don't ever feel bad about posting anything!

Marita....I heard a segment on NPR yesterday about lots of employers going to 4 day work weeks and letting people work at home due to gas prices. I think you should go into the office once a week and stay home the rest. Tell your boss it's the national trend.

Moo....The puppies are precious in their little outfits! The Graeter's holds no appeal for me since I can go there anytime I want. When I can afford it! That banana split probably costs $15 at Graeter's. It's the most expensive ice cream evah!

Donnisha
....WHY do people have to be so mean to the hostess? Mimi worked as a hostess for three years and hated it! People take out all their frustrations on YOU because you're young and you're available and they know you can't talk back. It's shameful really. It's not your fault the power is out. BTW....tell me how to get Mimi a summer job at Disney. I'm sending her down there next year.

Lynette....I always LOVE your CBM stories. Makes me appreciate my job all the more. Can you sneak a picture of him? I need a visual.

BNCG....Hope Julia's birthday was happy! Will she be a freshman or a sophomore? Emily turns 15 in September and will be a freshman. Emily would lof Julia as my poor girl has always wanted her own pony. :(

Steph, Kay, NAB, Celery, ever-body.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

So You Think YOu Can Dance came on so I watched it and went to sleep

Melinda: El Rodeo is the best Mexican Food an Drink Ive found anywhere in Elizabethtown and they dont skimp on the tequila

Mony: If I didnt have to drive 15 miles on a bad hi-way (aka dixie die-way)this particular night... I would have more than 2...plus I was alone...no fun....my wife usually drives because she cant drink cause it causes her to have a migraine.I was already in E-town working this day and I was very hungry.

howdy partners....

I have to get ready for eye recheck today at eleven and then this pm a recheck on my tests for the other end of my anatomy....ROFL.

I am so ready to get two eyes going at the same time.....or looking at the same time.....I am sort of lopsided still...

Hope you all have a great day.....another drizzly day here......kids are getting antzy and want to play outside........last day of school for the other rug rats...so tomorrow start with my Jacob.......he is a good kid......have my other girl that is taller then I am for the month of August....so summer is all set....if it warms up a bit

Good Morning!

Wanted to check in before I head out to the store. Amazingly enough now that we are back into school every day gets easier. They blazed through their phonics lessons today, granted Jeremiah didn't have a full lesson, just a assessment. But, still. Phonics usually takes anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We are working on getting our math facts down without any hesitation before moving on to new books and handwriting is a breeze. Anything that involves me throwing the book at them and not having to be involved is lovely. Of course if they race through it and it's messy it's erased and they do it over. :cool2:

Sorry about your stinky night Peej. But a stinky night working at Chef Mickey's is better than a good night when your not there. ;)

BH - Glad you had some mexican. We had great mexican while we were in Ga. Oddly enough there aren't any good places here(only the big green chain building) even though the majority of the people are hispanic. Must be because we have all the people from the Islands and not actual Mexico. Bummer.

Celery - A physical for what? How's the weight loss coming?

Well, I'm off to the store. It's already looking like rain. Here's hoping I don't get caught out in a storm. :wizard:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONALD!!!

:rockband: :cake: party: :bday: :drinking1

Peej/Donnisha - Have some Graeter's!!!!!! Sounds like you've earned it tonight  This weekend, I just used up the bitterseweet chocolate sauce my friend from Cincinnati gave me with some Graeter's ice cream for my birthday last year. Heavenly :)

Happy Birthday DTD!!!!!!

I, of course, have PLENTY of gifts just for YOU! Of course this presents a special challenge of wondering WHAT to get a single guy such as yourself (while at the same time not get banned)....

We got the call this morning. My SIL's mother passed this morning. Her father passed 2 weeks ago. This family has been through so much this year. One of the sisters DH passed in Dec and they just married in late August.

Please say a prayer for strength for Pam and her family.

Thanks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DTD!!!!!

Hope it's a great one!

Moo
...thanks for the Graeter's. How did you know that's prezackly what I needed?! Sounds like you made your Graeter's last a long time! :lmao:

Marita...did you follow through and get your omelette?

Lexi...Good luck with the college orientation!! Hope it went well. :) This seems early for an orientation. I remember mine being in August, right before school started. Anyway, hope it was a nice day!
And what you said about people taking everything out on the hostess because they are there is true. We're the people they see so they just come up to us for all their complaints. What they don't realize is that if they don't talk to a manager it does them absolutely no good. This man was screaming so much that by the time my manager came out she was threatening to call security on him. People just over-do it in the parks and then by the time they get to the restaurant they're spent. I'll send you a pm on getting a job at Disney. :thumbsup2

Pumba
...hope the eye re-check went well. Almost done!

MommyP....you raise a goog point, that puts it in perspective! Still raining like crazy there?

Monica...prayers said.

Well, I think that's all I've got. I'm going to scoot off to the gym. Have a great one, y'all!
:grouphug:

BigL...Do you have a problem with gum chewing in general or was it just CBM's particular method of gum chewing? Because if you don't like gum chewing, you and I might have an issue...

LilL, I have no problem with gum. I chew gum. But the loud chewing (and grunting!) makes me cringe and gnash my teeth! My dad could hear someone chewing from 4 rooms away, and DESPISED mouth noises. We were raised that mouth noises of ANY sort were to be avoided at all costs.

Hmmmm....I will see if I can dig up a pic of CBM someplace. Heh. What a sight he is! He is a short, balding man with teeth like an old picket fence. To make matters worse, his voice is REALLY nasal and high-pitched. Lots of people who talk to him on the phone think he's a woman. For real. Plus, his name is Arthur, but when he tells people, it comes out as "Ahthah", so lots of people hear "Martha". Heh. My coworkers and I get a good laugh outta that. :lmao:

UGH, as you WELL know, I hate mouth noises too. My Dh is fond of sitting right next to me while eating, say, a banana. That slurpy, spitty, throat clucking sound makes me cringe openly.

I love your CBM "Martha" stories! popcorn:: His TEETH! :faint:

mommyp - My prescriptions ran out, so I thought I'd go for my yearly physical.
but I forgot I had to have one in September when me and Tammy were trying to be foster parents.
so they sent me home.
with my refills
woo!

Mouth noises.

I cringe when a certain someone who lives in my house sits next to me and eats. This person can't help it, but the noise coming from his closed mouth is nerve racking.

Mony-- prayers send.

BH-- so sad about your wife. I know of what you speak though. Lost my first husband when we were married almost 3 years.

Moo -- the puppies are growing. They look so cute in there Disney attire!!

Marita--you need a stress free life.

UMA-- any open houses yet? Don't know how you keep up and do daycare.

My kids love chewing gum but if they are heard or more likely caught playing with it , it is gone.

I waited all day for St.Vincent De Paul to come pick up my old kitchen table only for them to not take it because it has a few scratches on the top....:sad2: I told them I am sure someone with out a table and chairs wouldn't even notice those scratches. We just refinished 2 years ago so they were not bad. And they wonder why landfills are full. This table is over 70 years old and solid wood. I guess we try to sell it since we can't give it away. :confused3
