Happy Hump Day, MOOvers! Hugs and prayers for Peej, Pumba, Mony/Tim, Cel (and MamaCel) and Sandy, plus anyone else who needs them or wants them.

Our heatwave has finally broken (5 days of 95+ degree temps with HIGH humidity!), and today is a beeyooteeful day in the greater Boston area. Made even more so by the absence of CBM at the office today!!! :cool1: :cool1: He is in Vegas at a trade show (at my insistence). So things around here are sans the craziness and paranoid skulking.

Cel, Natasha has been singing Taylor Swift's Picture to Burn around the house for the past three days. Especially the line, "Burn, burn, burn, baby burn". Which was only cute for about the first umpty-six times. So I toadily know what you mean about songs getting stuck in one's head.

After today, I have the rest of the week off from work, since tomorrow is the kids' last day of school (plus my wedding anniversary). I took the day so I can go to the school w/teachers' gifts and then be at the bus stop to welcome the kids home for the start of their vacation. One more day of running around! w00t!

To all my Scrabble bunnies, I forgot to say...it's your turns!!!! :flower:

Cel: sounds likes it's time to re-evaluate her meds. I'm sure you know this from past experience but the same meds don't always work the same forever. As the imbalances change, so do the meds. Good luck and lots of prayers. If I can do one thing, that's pray. And I will for you too.

Pumba: Thinking of you.

Sandy: I hope your brother has a change of heart once he gets your card. We have a site reserved at camp Schnep a ho or something like that in Muskegon.

Wendy: I missed you and your skinny jeans wearing self! Anything under a 16 to me is SKINNY!

Today's magic number (including my own) is 14. :faint:

10 are sleeping, 2 just got dropped off last minute and 2 are helping with bribes.

She got off her meds. Because sometimes she thinks she does not need them.
I am hoping with her taking the med now she will level off. She needs to go back into counseling. Thank goodness for prayers and love . I just hope she doesn't read this. Mony good luck with your husband . As a past day care owner and worker, I understand your mixed feelings. I would try to take a vacation and every time I would come back I would have parents to quit because someone on my staff did not watch their child like I would.. Celery and I are longwinded today. Take care Pumba

Utah- Congrats on house showings AND skinny jeans!

Cel- 1. Yes, we tie in science with the lesson. The experiments illustrate truth. We buy our curriculum pre-done- this one is pretty good. We are having a blast! My only complaint is some days have more to do than others.
2. I was totally thinking the same thing about the Cranberries!:lmao: and now Linger is stuck in my head.
3. A big hug for your family situation.
4. And another  to encourage you with the plan to detoxify your liver.

Hi Celery's Mom. :)

Martha Stewart- you are a great mom! Enjoy your summer.

:wizard: for everyone else as they spread pixie dust or get surgery or chase their cats or whatever they have going on today

I have to take the boys to the doctor for physicals. I should go de-pirate before I run errands. Ha. I forgot yesterday and couldn't figure out why the mom I kinda sorta know from the gym was looking at me funny.

Oh weeeeeeeeeendy!

I posted your favorite picture of you and me on another clique thread I post on.

:stir: popcorn::

Hmmm . . . if they do a remake of the TV show or movie "Dennis the Menace" he sounds like a perfect candidate for the part. ;)
Yes ...thats is him in a nutshell....we already call him "Daniel the Menace" when he is outside playing. But more often I call him "Huricane Daniel" cause he can trash a room in a split second ..ADHD is his excuse err problem I mean:rolleyes1

I always just closed down when I take a vacation. It's too stressful for me to relax wondering if everything is going ok. With one parent, who didn't have back up, we made an arrangement with my helper to watch her son.

She was appalled that my helper expected her to pay her. She thought I should pay her cause she was my helper.

Then when I came back she shows up, drops her kid off, and gives me a note and I quote, "Wait until I leave before you open this." She says it's her son's last day and she gave me her notice with a bill for the charges she incured while I was closed and for her pre-payment of the month, get this, 24 dollars. She got state aid and her portion for a months worth of day care was 24 dollars. I think she was asking me for like 96.00 dollars. Along with a nasty note that peole like me shlould not be allowed to take vacations cause it puts people like her in bad situations cause they don't have back up.

I told her since she didn't give me a proper 2 week notice for the withdraw, she actually owed me such and such dollars that's due when you withdraw your child per her signed contract.

She sent her mom that evening to pick up her son. I just handed her an envelope. With my reply.

She didn't even pay my helper for watching her son. She expected me to do it and said her case worker said I could bill for it. I left her case worker a message that said if you get your supervisors permission for me to do this, I'll do it cause I know the rules and you get fined, like 5,000.00 for falsly billing the gov't here in Michigan. I can't bill for a child that I didn't watch. That child wasn't even in my home for that week. Needless to say, the case worker never called me back.

good lord, mony.
I'm so glad we're out of that business.
it's such a THANKLESS job.
so thanks for all you do.

You people hear that? Your kid's teachers are great and all, but it's the daycare workers who get pooped on!
literally and figuratively!
:rotfl:

Since you people aren't entertaining me, here's some entertainment for you.

These are emails between me and the NO HELPDESK!

Just take a long walk on Wednesday at this time. It will be more fun. How many weeks has it been going on.? Take Care. the ex-stalker.

It doesn't bug me too much when I'm in the office because I take my lunch at noon, but when I'm on the road, I don't take an actual break for lunch so it stinks!

Good GRAVY Celery!! :scared1:

That is such a helpful reply!! :faint:

:laundy: DONE!! 8 loads at the laundromat - thus our house is still cool!!

Cel you're right I was a daycare provider for 5 or 6 years!! I got tired of poop.... now as a sub, its a different poop, different smell!

Mony goog thing you are organized!! You need a vacation!! :moped: Then you'll need a vacation from the vacation!! I was thinking of going camping up at Warren Dunes!! Depends on how hot it is - we tent camp!!

:scared1: Stay away from tomatoes!!

Busy day cleaning and all that fun stuff.

Had to take Nicholas to the dermatologist seems he had some ingrown hair under his arm that are now scares. And what we thought was eczema is psoriasis. He gets it on his knees, ankles and head. It doesn't help that he is a picker so he had open sores in his hair I didn't even know he had until the doctor looked. So now we have to do cremes and lotions for a few weeks until it clears up.

Sandy-- good idea doing your laundry outside the home so it doesn't get the house hot. I used to go to the laundromat every Saturday before I got married.

Celery& Celerymama-- hope she gets back on her meds. and everything is ok.

Mony-- you must have so much patience to run a daycare. Some days it is trying with the two that are my own. :lmao:

Evening, Moovers. :wave2:

I just felt the need to quote this. I thought it deserved to be repeated because I really liked the sentiment. Thanks for sharing words of wisdom, Kay! :)
Hugs and magic to all who are having health and family problems. It sure would be great if there was no pain and stress in this world, but unfortunately we have to help each other get through the bad times as best we can, and look ahead to the good times.

Cel...your entire family will be in my prayers. And I will seriously pray for Cel and her sister. Because praying for Amber would just be silliness.

Monica...prayers headed in your direction as well.

Sandy...I went to Chipotle just now and they aren't even offering the salsa because of the tomatoes. Little known PJ fact: I love tomatoes. I eat them like apples. Not even kidding.

I apologize for being grumpy last night. I shouldn't have gotten online. I am now going to proceed from being grumpy to being vague and request prayers for healing and forgiveness for my father and my entire family. My father will be away for the month of June, at the end of which hopefully things will be a lot better for our family. Was that vague enough? I'm going to ignore the other questions y'all asked me. Because I'm wicked that way.

Off to find pictures.

The two dropped off last minute were just picked up! Phew! It's ok, it was just my BFF's kids.

I owe them.

She has sat with DH while he waited to be released from the hospital so I could take and be at my son's band concert.

She sometimes takes Zack to his safety patrol post on her way to work.
Which she did this morning while DH was at his proceedure.

That went fine BTW.

What kind of tomatoes? All of em?

Kids do not bother me. I've had a day care in my home for 10 years. I've had some wonderful families come through here. I have several right now. After all these years when I get a card or a plant with a note to just say thanks, or someone gets wind that its my birthday and brings over a trinket, it touches me so deeply. I save the cards when families move on and thank me for being in their childs life. I love it when I'm in a restaurant and a child I used to watch comes over and says hi. There's no better feeling.

It's just so much fun to talk about the winners.
