Lynette - Hope all goes well tomorrow. Sounds like you've got it all covered. We had the cousins picture (on my DH's side of the family) done on Sunday, and the little girl having her photo session before us looked like she was having her communion pictures made. She looked like a mini bride in her dress. The best picture was of her on her knees with her beads in her hands while praying. It was heavenly.

Thanks, Allie. Let's hope I haven't forgotten anything.

I am hoping to get a good photo of DS on the kneeler at church after the Mass. With my Papa's rosary, of course. That's in addition to the formal photos we have scheduled. Love those special pics!

A wedding we went to had one of those fondue things. I remember filling a coffee cup full of chocolate for two boys in white shirts. Quick story about our government at work. Ds had to go to Tampa today to get sworn in. HUH? I said. You got sworn in a couple of weeks ago.

Ahh, but that was only for RESERVES, now he had to go back to get sworn in for ACTIVE DUTY and get his official orders. Once there, they wanted his college transcripts.

WTH, he said (nicely) I already sent them to such and such a long time ago.
Well they said, that is a different place, we need them again here,
So he had to go get that all arranged this afternoon, and he starts on TUESDAY! DUH!!!

But now he is officially "Staff Seargent Christopher M"

And now for something completely different....

Dinner at Raglan Road was really good. I had a creamy potatoe/cabbage soup that was excellent and filled me up. Sorry, Moo, I don't think I can hanlde even sharing a filet in Canada. I ordered appetizer scallops for 2 for my entree, and only ate 2 or 3. And hubby ordered another order of those. Plust calamari, and everyones entrees. Anywho, DD's BF had no problem polishing it all off. I was laughing. DD said, yes, my boy can eat!
When we got the check, I went outside for a quick smoke before heading to Cirque. Then I remembered about the discount. Went back inside, and sure enough, hubby didnt think about it (we hardly ever eat at disney), so we had the check voided and rerung and saved about $30.

Cirque was excellent for what it is, but it's just not my thing.......

GOOD MORNING & HAPPY DERBY DAY!

The sun does NOT shine bright on My Old Kentucky Home today. It's rainy this morning but will hopefully clear off later as predicted. I have a college graguwashion party to attend this afternoon followed by a Derby party.

One of our cute little college students from church invited me to her graduation party. She is my closest IRL Disney-nerd friend....we talk in acronyms, talk park touring, ADRs and gush over each others Disney photos. She hopes to work at Disney in a theatre tech capacity but needs two years professional experience before Disney will hire her. So off she goes for two years.

My post yesterday was brief and I didn't get to tell you that DH came home this week with a Wii. DH has a friend who is a roofer and DH gave him a referral on a BIG job so DH's friend stops by his office and gives him the Wii as a thank you. DS is (of course) beside himself with delight since he has been wishing for one since they first came out. Oh joy.

Lynette....You are awesome with your homemade favors! WOW! I hope everything is just perfect for the first communion!

Lexi...graduation isn't until May 17. This week is finals week which is why we don't have to go to our internship sites. I only have one final but I am going to spend the week visiting some schools, going to various meetings (Zzzz.....), and packing. I hate packing more than anything in the world.

SO! I'm painting my boys' room. In preparation to putting this beautiful house on the market, THAT room was the worst by far. It will be staged in a vintage cowboy motif. I made some bandana curtains and found some neato cowboy prints framed in rustic wood. I made a night light out of an antique red oil lantern.

I gave up on trying to spot paint the marred walls and got the coolest color.

It's sort of a covered wagon canvas beige. Not quite corn tortilla yellow, but rather a cornbread. A cross between pie crust with an egg-wash and buttermilk biscuit.




The quest to find a color for my HUGE red living room wall that is more neutral yet will compliment my celery micro-suede couches is exhausting.

Finally, I get home from work and it doesn't take an hour and a half to catch up! I've been reading, then falling asleep in the couch. This driving an hour each way to work is getting me more than the work. I have to drive through Sweeden every day, and came home through Stockholm Wednesday. Cereally. It's cool watching all the little blond kids getting off the bus in Sweeden. The road through Stockholm crosses a river on a ferry. But you have to drive 35 through Mammoth Cave National Park, and rangers give federal tickets.
