Welcome twoandtwins ! :)

Babynurse-- Glad you mom is ok. Very smart red head you got there... how did the tooth fairy get the money under the pillow? Or did he fall into a deep sleep and not hear the cow bell anymore.

Mony-- I would freak out, no broken arm...that is a good thing.

Rob-- I am with Pumba I would take snow and ice. Glad you and your family were safe.

UMA-- I carry my cell phone when I am out so the school can call, other wise it is not on. So when it does ring it either scares me or I don't realize it is mine that is ringing.

Twinkadoodle: I am cracking up at you looking out the window to see the playset go flying by! I'm sure you calmed the kiddos nerves by filling them full of juice boxes. tee hee

Celery: You are Evile. Trying to scare poor Nabbie.;)

Nab:
The tooth fairy was vewy vewy quiet. Shhhhhh!

Marita EliSabeth: I'm glad my mom is ok too. Thanks!

twoandtwins:  Pleasedtomeetcha

Wendy: I am echo'ing BobinLittleCK's sentiments about the usual proceedings of a tornado. The siren sounds. You head to the basement. Nothing happens. You come back up. Yes, they can be scary, but they are few and far between. I have only been through a couple of actual tornadoes. One we were in the basement and the other we were driving in the truck. It all turned out ok. I think a basement or downstairs area is a good idea if you are going to be house hunting in the midwest. (imho)

Thanks UtahMama, now I have a name to go with it....Phantom vibrate-mode
SEE? I'm not crazy. Other totally respectable ladies have Phantom Vibration Syndrome.

Thanks for trying to sooth my unreasonable fears. I WILL have a basement or cellar of some sort.

I don't remember any tornados when I lived in Memphis. Some wild thunderstorms but that is part of the joy that is the midwest.

The funniest part was when I went upstairs to get some snacks (it was dinner time and I didn't want the kids to be scared so I said we would have a picnic in the basement) and I saw the neighbor's little tykes playhouse flying by!
Good to hear about the Memphis area.
You know I like you cuz you thought of the snacks!!!!

Yes! I totally do! it freaks me out. And I never have my phone on vibrate anyway!
See? Another totally respectable example that I'm not cookoo.
Glad your legs got shaved.

Welcome New Girl!!!!! Tell us all about yourself!

Hey MOOvers! Happy Friday to all!

Yay on new tags, working cell phones, smart astarstar freakin genius redheads, "forced" vacation days, and Moms without injuries!

Boo on tornadoes, babies with possible broken limbs, and soggy vee-hick-uhls.

NAB and Pumba, I'm with you gals. I'll take the snow and ice over tornadoes or earthquakes ANY day! :scared1:

I think we are ready for Boris' First Communion. Food is ordered, decorations for the hall are purchased, favors are assembled, suit is pressed and ready. Gotta get the boy a haircut today after school, and select an outfit for the girl to wear, and Bob's my uncle!

I ran into our priest at the grocery store this morning. He was very chatty. Hopefully, he'll be less chatty tomorrow during Mass! We have a schedule to adhere to, people!

I have pre-party angst, so I'm cleaning, DISing and doing laundry simultaneously. :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Bob? I have an Uncle Bob tooo!

Ok, now for a serious question: What kind of food are we talkin'?

My DD had the NOIVE to call me today, my forced vacation day, to ask me to wash her bedding. She is 23, people! and spends one day a week here anymore...........

I told her I will wash and dry, but I am NOT putting the sheets back on! I am not a maryrer. I hate putting sheets on beds.

And to say to make sure the house is presentable, so she can bring in her BF before we head out to DTD for Raglan Road and Cirque.

So I did, but now I am behind schedule for root touchup. :guilty:

Well, not just because of that, but because I am procrastinating.. :rolleyes1

But gotta go do it now, or I wont be ready for tonight. And have to get up at 7am tomorrow to head for graduation ceremony for DD and meet the parents lunch......

Italian food. For the masses. Eggplant parm, chicken, ziti & broccoli, pasta forno, chicken cacciatore, pasta bolognese, 4-cheese lasagna, antipasto, and garden salad for the main meal.

Pastries, cookies, brownies, cake and fruit/cheese trays for dessert.

Want to join us? ;)

Lynette-- glad you are all set for the weekend. Sounds like you are going to have quite the party. We are just having 30 people and at my house so I have weeks to clean but am sure I will be doing it at the last minute.

What kind of favours do you give out at a Communion? We have a girl in Hannah's class that is having a photograher etc, it is like a mini wedding of sorts. Can't wait to see her dress.

Rob-- just scene picture of the tornados on the news , wow !!

Celery-- phone is off since I am at home.

CAKE?? You don't have to ask ME twice! I would, really, if I still had free flights. :sad2: So you'll have to eat a big plateful for me. LOVE Italian food. (pronounce "Eyetalian" by some here)

Oh my, sounds delicious!!!

I'd love to crash your party, but I have my own party to go to tomorrow.

Bucca Di Peppo, at least it's Italian too. With potential future in-laws

NAB, looks like we're going to have about 75-80 people. That's actually pretty small for a family party for us. Lots of my relatives are in the midst of their own stuff, so they won't be able to make it. It'll still be fun though.

The favors are little white boxes which contain homemade candy (made by me). I put a decorative band of blue craft paper around the box and then tied it with a blue ribbon. No big deal...just a little sumpn.

I am having Boris' photos done too...but not at the church. I'm taking him to a photography studio.

Heh. I'll have a heapin' helpin' just for you, Wendy. We love Italian food too. Now keep your fingers crossed for me that all goes well, 'kay?

ETA: Play any good Scrabble lately? *ahem*

Rob-- just scene picture of the tornados on the news , wow !!
You know what's funny is that I've heard that (or read it) from a few people here and on the phone and I still haven't seen any of it (haven't had the TV on yet today and haven't been out yet but will be soonishly now that my trunk is completely cleaned out).

I'm sure I'll get out and take some pics this weekend. I have received reports that all of our baseball diamonds are still in good shape (just some overblown trash cans and overblown johnny-on-the-spots) which is good news since the season is supposed to open tomorrow. In the May 2003 tornado, we lost four diamonds the weekend before the season was supposed to start. Well, the ground was still there obviously but the fencing, bleachers, and field lighting was all destroyed.

I never heard of giving favors for weddings in Germany, much less communions. Actually, this is the first of giving favors for communions ever!

Good luck with the parties, everyone!!!!!!!

The University of Phoenix is really ticking me off. They keep spamming me to get a degree. Don't they know I already have one and have my eye on RETIREMENT, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE? :confused3

I keep reporting it as spam...........

Marita, we do favors for almost everything around here. If I didn't do a lot of the favors myself, it would get awfully expensive.

My "sells" on the popular auction site help me fund the little extras such as these. I've been making quite a pretty penny lately. Good thing.

Pray tell, what is it that you sell?

Hello, friends.

bbn...I'm glad your mom is okay, but I'm not even going to give you a hug smiley because you're sooo over that. ;) See how goog I am to you?

I also wanted to tell y'all how that redhead story went when it was told to me on the phone yesterday:
bbn: Can I tell you a cute redhead story?
me: always.
(she proceeds to tell the story and gets to the part where she hears the cowbell)
bbn: So I thought, great, why did Ron run into a cowbell, I told him to be quiet!!!

No thoughts of wow, it sure it strange that there was a cowbell in my child's room. Or, I wonder WHY there is a cowbell in my child's room. NOPE. Just "why wasn't he being more careful around the cowbell?" Oh life at Sunnybrook is grand indeed!!

Allie...so glad you got a new cell phone right away. That would have put me into panic mode!

cel
...I can't believe you still remember the Christmas card I sent you with Ariel stickers. Sheesh! I guess you'll have high standards for me next year.

BigL...Boris' first communion sounds like such a Martha Stewart operation! You go!!!

Rob...I guess I'm obligated to say I'm glad your family made it through the storm safely. snark.

Marita...I'm only 22, so will you wash my sheets when I'm down there this summer? Pretty please?

I am feeling very reflective this morning so I am going to have to force myself not to ramble. I had a very nice last morning with the kiddos. I am definitely going to miss them. With different things I've had going on this semester they've always cheered me up with their hugs and smiles, and kind words. Their hearts are so big. I'll never forget my time spent with them. They all wrote me letters. Some of my favorite excerpts:

"Good luck on your gragiwashon, bremember me always."

"Dear Miss Lauren I'll miss you so so so so so so so so much! Your lessons are so great! Are you going to give us gifts? Or toys?" Now that kid gets right to the point! :lmao:

"Miss Lauren you are a good teacher and I love your hair styles. When I come in the class and I say hi you really say hi back and give me a hug. That is why I like you."

"Good luke for graduate from calig." Spelling lesson time! :rotfl:

"You rocks. Well done." Short and sweet!

Okay, I'll stop. I want to post a picture of my babies, so I'm going to but I will have to poof it soon so if anyone wants to see it, just PM me.

*poof*

*poof*

I sell toys, mostly. Particularly Webkinz. I pick them up at cost, and hold them for a while. When the availability of that style drops and drives the price up, I set up some auctions and am able to make a bit more for them than if I sold them immediately.

I also sell other toys, like dolls and their accessories. You'd be surprised what people will buy online. ;) Periodically, I throw in some auctions for gently used kid paraphernalia. But most of my kids' clothing goes to my BFF's kids, since she has a son and a daughter who are just a wee bit younger than Boris and Natasha.

PJ- your babies are darling! Goog luke on your graguation from collidge from us prairie dwellers two.

Lalijack- that sounds a lot like insider trading. :rotfl: I have to say my very favorite gifts have been purchased via popular auction sites.

Goodness gracious, woman. You really ARE Martha Stewart! :worship: Will you teach me sometime? How do you do all that and work outside the home too?
Do you have an addiction to Boris's ADHD medication ala Desperate Housewives?
Hmmm?
