wow pumba! sounds like you had a great church day! I need some church too.
Maybe I'll see if my mom wants to go tonight to her service.
Eeek!
She's church of christ.
think they'll let me sit on the pew? as long as I sit in the back? ;)
She still reads here, just so you know.

I figured out a problem on the group project so I feel much better. I hadn't been contributing much.
But now I can't get the dang database to submit! grr!

cheryl - I hope you find a pretty dress!

I need to remember to pm marita the time of our tea.
I don't have it on this computer, so hopefully I'll remember tomorrow.

peej - when you move to nashville (hehe. not IF. When) you can hang out with famous people too! :cool2:
wendy could too, but she wants to move to steenkin MEMPHIS!
Whatever.
there are no cool people there.
unless you count Elvis' ghost!

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know that my grandpa passed away. I know several of you have been asking about his health. I knew when I saw him last Sunday, that it wouldn't be long and I am really glad we took that trip to see him last weekend.

He was sent back to the hospital a few days ago and they put him on a Morphine drip and he basically slipped into a coma like state from then on. My uncle was with him when he passed though. For some reason that is always so comforting to the family that they did not die alone. I know when I used to work in longterm care and patients would be nearing the end of their road and the family couldn't make it in time that I would often just sit in the room with them and hold their hand and tell them they weren't alone. I have no idea if they could hear me or not, but they say that the hearing is the last thing to go, so you never know. ANYWAY, (I get distracted. sorry) it was always a comfort to the family when they learned that somebody was with their loved one when they crossed over.

PJ when I saw your song about rain and Tim McGraw I immediately thought of one of my absolute favorite songs in the world. (which you know I have recorded myself at "that place") I think it's a great song to sing when life gets you down.

Another day has almost come and gone
Cant imagine what else could go wrong
Sometimes Id like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war (cause)

Tomorrows another day
And Im thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

Its almost like the hard times circle round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but Im not dead

No I'm not going to let it get me down
and I'm not gonna cry
and I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight

Tomorrows another day
And I am not afraid
So bring on the rain

My favorite part is the second verse. I've had quite a few life obstacles to deal with of late, and I kinda lost sight of that for a little while, but thank goodness I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers today gang. You're the best.

So I made the meat mixture, the leaves were ready to go since yesterday. and I went looking for those pin things to hold them together, or at least some thick yarn(not fuzzy, for string art, anybody remember that?) I had from 30 years ago (:rotfl: ), but NOTHING! So I just wasted half an hour going to the store to find some piins. NOTHNG, NADA! And not a soul around to ask. So I ended up getting some toothpicks, 750 for $1.09. I guess that should work, right? I'll let you know...........

So now I am exhausted and have to sit down for a few minutes. Bad thing is that DH needs to eat soonishly........, and I have a ways to go..........

Babynurse:hug:

PJ- your little sis is cute as a button! love that dress. I think she is starting to look like you- the same smile anyways.

Lex- No prom for Mimi ... sniff! why is youth wasted on the young?

Pumba:grouphug:

Goog luck on the shopping Moo!

Happy cabbage rolling Marita

My sister is helping my son with his algebra homework right now. She is a professional :thumbsup2

Thanks twinkie

Forgot to say that BabyAli and BabyPJ are epitomes of hotT college/high school chickness.

For my favorite babynurse. I of course have to post a song too. Because that's what we do. It's how we roll. duh. So, one of my favorite Sugarland songs.

Go ahead and take your best shot,
Let 'er rip, give it all you've got,
I'm laid out on the floor, but I've been here before,
I may stumble, yeah I might fall,
Only human aren't we all?
I might lose my way, but hear me when i say,

I will stand back up,
You'll know just the moment when I've have enough,
Sometimes I'm afraid, and I don't feel that tough,
But I'll stand back up,

I've been beaten up and bruised,
I've been kicked right off my shoes,
Been down on my knees more times than you'd believe,
When the darkness tries to get me,
Theres a light that just wont let me,
It might take my pride, and my tears may fill my eyes,
But I'll stand back up,

I've weathered all these storms,
But i just turn them into wind, so i can fly,
What don't kill you makes you stronger,
When I take my last breath,
Thats when I'll just give up,

So, go ahead to take your best shot,
Let 'er rip, give it all you've got,
You might win this round but you cant keep me down,

'Cause I'll stand back up,
And you'll know just the moment when I've had enough,
Sometimes 'm afraid and I don't feel that tough,
But I'll stand back up,

You'll know just the moment when I've had enough,
Sometimes I'm afraid and I don't feel that tough,
But I'll stand back up.

And since you're a stalker, you know where to find me if you need me. You've been through more than your fair share lately. I'll be praying for peace for your whole family during this time. LYLABBT.   SLUURRRP!!!!!

Lynette, I wonder what the point is of making a model of a dinosaur? :confused3
Maybe PJ can shed some light on this.

Marita, I was thinking the same thing. WTHelk IS the point of the model? Other than to torment the parents, I mean.

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know that my grandpa passed away.

Oh, Elisabeth! I am so sorry to hear about your grandpa!  . I'm glad to know that your uncle was with him when he passed. I will say a special prayer for him and your entire family

Peej! Your sis looks gorgeous - love the dress!!! HotTness sure runs in your family :) Hope she has a fabulous time and that you get some goog rest tonight.

My BFF's daughter had her senior prom tonight. My friend signed up to help chaperone the after party. I'm thinking she is going to be VERY tired tomorrow!
Awww....thanks, Moo! I always say that Alison is the pretty one and Amanda is the smart one, but I don't know what that leaves me with! :rotfl: I know the after prom for my sister went until 5am. My days of staying out until 5am have come and gone. That does not sound appealing to me.

PJ, Lovely to see you and your baby sister. How pretty, BOTH of you!

I'm planning right now to go visit mom in September. Damn air fare prices are out of sight right now. But that's not why I am not going now, I have budgets to do over the summer, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Get some rest, sleep, it will soon be all done and the real life will begin ...
Thanks, Marita. I hope you can get it worked out to go see your mom in September. I bet that would be a nice trip.

PJ....Your little sister is adorable. Love the dress! Mimi's senior prom was last night but she worked since her boyfriend was out of town. :sad2:

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. -James 1:5
OMGosh, I can't believe she didn't just go with friends! Is she not really into the whole dance/dressing up thing?

And lacking wisdom? I resemble that remark!

went to mass and while I was walking there (neighborhood churches still exist here) The bells at the big church were going on and on and it sounded like ITS A SMALL WORLD.......I started to snicker as I walked the rest of the ways to church.......Today was the annointing of the sick at our church.......and I didnt really think that I needed to do this but the more I read about it in the bulletin and then the priest explained it ...the more I thought yes ....then I said no cause alot of people really need this ....and I am not there yet....but for some reason, my body lifted up and I walked down the aisle and received the sacrament.....very emotional too......today was one of those days when I could cry in church......even the song "How Great Thou Art" brought a few tears to my eyes.........
SOOOOOOO have a good Sunday my friends......it is raining here but we need it very very badly......
How Great Thou Art is one of my favorite church songs. We had it at my first grandma's funeral and when we were planning my other grandma's funeral a few months ago I insisted we have it again. Has anyone ever heard Carrie Underwood sing that song? :faint: AMAZING!!! And thanks for the kind words about my sister. :)

Lynette, I wonder what the point is of making a model of a dinosaur? :confused3
Maybe PJ can shed some light on this.
Why thank you for asking, Marita! Do you want the three minute abbreviated version, or the full 18 minute spiel?

peej - when you move to nashville (hehe. not IF. When) you can hang out with famous people too! :cool2:
wendy could too, but she wants to move to steenkin MEMPHIS!
Whatever.
there are no cool people there.

Well, you'll be interested to know (or probably you won't be but I'm telling you anyway)....I just turned one of the schools in Nashville down. It was in Brentwood. They were going to pay me nothing and I just had to say no. There's still one other possibility in Nashvegas, though. Hanging out with famous people is definitely tempting, but being stalked by you equally scares me. I think I'll really have to weigh the pros and cons of this situation. :scratchin
Last edited by babynurse1 : Today at 03:13 PM. Reason: Didnt I have better than "cake" pie on that very kitchen counter?
Good catch, Nancy. Yes, you and your offspring did in fact have better than cake pie on that very kitchen counter...which apparently doubles as a place for me to sit. Interesting, no?

I have been working on a paper all morning. So far it's 19 pages and it's almost done and I just thought to myself, hey, I should save this on my flash drive! We will NOT be repeating the disappearing/rewriting paper situation.

Awww....thanks, Moo! I always say that Alison is the pretty one and Amanda is the smart one, but I don't know what that leaves me with! :rotfl:

Duh! YOU are the total package, LilL! Pretty and smart, plus FUNNY = Peej.

BbN- Sorry!!!!!
sympathy.gif

Pumba- glad you got up too. :hug:That is the best Hymn! Love the chorus.

PJ- you are the total package, princess:

Celery- NOT Memphis :scared: ..Nashville area. Coca Cola's hiring! ;) I've been looking at houses and jobs all day. So far all my ducks are in a row. Whatever that means.
You're going to help me move, RIIIIIGHT? And anyone else within a 500+ mi. radius.

We planted an "S" shaped tree today! It is freakin' awesome!!!!!!
"S" is a significant letter for our family

S is also for Scrabble. ((hint))

EliSabeth, so sorry about your grandpa

I missed your post the first time, I guess we crossed in cyberspace while I was panicking over making cabbage rolls.

I think my worst nightmare job (well, maybe not worst, but close) would be a chef. Making things come out at the same time is like a Rubik's cube to me. And gravy !!!!

Let the record show that toothpicks you get at 750 for $1.09 do NOT work very well for cabbage rolls. I broke more than I used. But apparently things turned out ok, Dh and DD had 2 helpings and declared it a success. I was afraid I was going to really mess it up. And I copped out and made instant potatoes.
DS hasn't shown up yet, and I haven't eaten yet.

My kitchen is a mess, and I need to empty the dishwasher before I can start cleaning up. But I have to take a shower first, since DH goes to sleep in a few minutes.

PJ, the 3 mnute version of the dinosaur model excercise would probably suffice.

babycow - and prayers

oops. I just accidentally called you babycow in my prayer. :lmao:
God knows!!!!

Peej - you mean you don't want to work for free? ;)
good job on the paper! woo!

wendy - Of course I'll help you move.
So will babycow and allie and lexy poo and peej.
instead of a wdw dis meet, we'll have a nashvegas dis meet.
oh - tnmom on the boutique thread is close too.
and goofydad is probably three hours away.
(it will be kinda far for babycow, peej and lex, but they can carpool)

marita - put some cabbage rolls in the freezer for me and Moo!

Sending prayers, hugs, and condolences, Elisabeth, to you and your family

PJ, I wholeheartedly agree with Lynette!!!

Hooray for having that project over, Marita! Be sure to have some before they're all gone!!!

Well, I found a couple shirts and a beachy/tropical print cotton knit dress that will make a cute swimsuit coverup, but still not really anything I was looking for to wear to graduation. I wasn't really looking for a dress, just a cute capri outfit. I may end up dressing a bit more casually than I'd like. I suppose I can always shop down there a little.

And I picked up some groceries. Now I'm ready to veg the rest of the evening! And play some Scrabble!

 Hi, Celery's Mama!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you 2 want? Why the sucking up? :scratchin Just kidding, thanks!

PJ, the 3 mnute version of the dinosaur model excercise would probably suffice.
1. Improves fine motor skills as kids get ready to head to upper grades where more and more writing will be required.
2. Allows for creative expression.
3. Most kids like art.
4. When you have researching, writing, art, etc. all incorporated into one project, you're giving ALL the kids a chance. For example, I had a little guy who couldn't write worth a darn. But the kid was such a talented artist. A project like that would build his confidence and give him a chance to excel.

THIS IS ALL AS LONG AS THE KID ACTUALLY DOES THE PROJECT AND NOT THE PARENTS!!!!!!! I understand that the kids need help. I get that. What I don't understand is when the kids come in with projects that the parents clearly did. :sad2: Why bother? I'll stop.

wendy - Of course I'll help you move.

Are we all staying with you? :crowded: What's on the agenda for this meet? Do I want to know? :rolleyes1

Best of luck in all your shopping endeavors, Moo!!

Can I sing and dance instead? :rolleyes1 :dancer: Wait, I can't do that either....

Hey if there is a moving party, I'm coming!!!!!!!!!!

Sleepover at Celery's??????

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!

I just saw I had my lardbottom tag removed and 2 new ones added :scared1:

Hey, cool, Marita! I like these MUCH better than the lardbottom one. Especially considering that the lardbottom one REALLY didn't suit you!

Thanks, L! I never was fond of the lardbottom one either.

Dang, maybe I shouldn't be saying that SHHHHHHHHH

BBN: Sorry about your grandpa. Hugs.

Marita: Nice tags and much better.

Lynt: Do you have a new one too? Recently?
