Sandy, you have a very handsome son. :thumbsup2

Wendy Lou, I am thinking this is not a good time to move, with the housing market so bad, and construction in the dumps. Plus the wages in TN are likely to be much lower too.

Moo, where dd you get your Cow coming to pasture ticker?

I have tomorrow off, w00t!!!

wendy is simiplyyyyyyyyyy gorgeous..

Okey today I lived and didnt have to use the duct tape.....the kids were horrible and I told one that she is not welcome here this summer....she kept on saying YES MARIE........i said I cant take you fighting all the time and picking on your cousin...drives me nuts.....she is 12 and he is 8........NOPE.....so if she wants to come back and behave then maybe ......but NOPE ......she better learn that I mean business.......(for a change).....hahaha

Long day and hope to go to bed now and one more day with the other two....

Rob is pleading the 5th, LOL!

Can't say that I blame you though.......

For Rob: The thread Spellun King is WT :rolleyes1
Doh! Now I remember the reference. (from back in my semi-lurking days)

One of my favorite buddies and I both entered the drawing for a chance to win the "opportunity" to chaperone the class field trip to our state capitol next month. Though we're hardly old enough to be so, we refer to ourselves as Statler and Waldorf (I'm Waldorf since I have a moustache, he's Statler) so we're really hoping we both get picked to make the 165-mile trip with the kids. Although after reading PJ's comments that parents joining field trips should be better behaved than the kids, we may have to reconsider.

Martia -- only 12 days get cooking woman. What is your dd going to do after graduation?

The kids are off tomorrow, hope the weather holds out so they can be outside most of the day. Kitchen guy is coming later so I get to sleep in too!:woohoo:

Trying to decide on knobs or handles for my cabinets. I tell you I could not decorate for a living. I just know they will be brushed nickel or pewter.

Sandy-- loved the pictures. Our trees are just starting to bud too. Cute son too. Why was he wearing a white tux, prom?

I knew you were pretty Wendy, but now you are just plain gorgeous.

Your hard work is paying off big time. You so rock!

2 more weeks of school and its OVER. Now it's study time!

Pumba, hope tomorrow goes better for you.

Rob, you VOLUNTEERED to go on a 165 mile trip with a busloads of kids?

Bless your heart!!!!!!!!!

How was take kid to work day? Or did I already read that and forgot I did?

Cheesebrain, you know......

Twinkie, post a link to the trivia thingie tomorrow and I might attempt to play, since have a VACATION DAY! :cool1:

UMA-- I like Tom Cocrane's version better of Life is a Highway better. But I do like country music . Hubby is a heavy metal guy, I was surprised when I found that out......:lmao:

The field trips are coming next month too but we don't go that far. Hannah is going to the Safety Village and Science Centre and I am not sure were Nicholas goes this year.

1. Yes, and that also includes a stop at Mickey D's on the way back home. I did the same trip with DS15's class and DS12's class when they were in fourth grade and now DS10 (Joseph) is in fourth. It's not too bad except that you ride in the deep plush luxury of a school bus! Let me just say those barely-padded seats are better suited for hauls of 10 miles or less.

2. Take your kid to work day was fine. DS12 (Jeffrey) got what he wanted out of the day -- a day away from school and some great Kansas City barbecue for lunch (I may or may not have had a side order of greasy onion rings to go with my BBQ sandwich :cool2: ) at Oklahoma Joe's. DS12 took DS10's laptop with him so he sat at my side table and played on the laptop while I worked. DS12 also got to go to a meeting in the morning where we discussed tweaking database tables to handle the loading in of mainframe data files and, let me assure you, he found the whole meeting fascinating.

Martia -- only 12 days get cooking woman. What is your dd going to do after graduation?

Nabbie, she is going to Europe. 3 weeks with her BF and his parents to Germany, Austria and Italy, and then a week with my mom. Grad school after that, but no firm plans for that yet, so she might be supersizing at McD's for a while, I dont know, LOL!

She is getting a double major in history and phsychology, which that and 2 bucks will get you a cup of coffee. But she is aiming for a guidance councelor career in college. We shall see.

I was kind of thinking the same thing about moving these days, but I think Michigan's economy is a bit more depressed than some states.

The ticker is from ezticker.com. I think you might have to register to get tickers there.

YAY on tomorrow off!!!!!!!!   I can't take any time off before vacation . . . need to conserve my vacation days.

Pumba - Hope tomorrow is a tad easier

Nab - I thought VERY briefly of replacing my kitchen knobs and drawer pulls :scared: My friend Debbie is going a little cuckoo lately trying to get her house ready for her daughter's graduation open house.

I am sure that meeting was fascinating for your son! Who doesn't love datables and mainframes?

But all this mentionng of Dear sons (4 of them) reminded me of an article I read the other day. Actually, specifically as it relates to MommyP.

It said that if you eat a lot of potassium and a good diet (specifically breakfast, I think), it increases your chances of conceiving boys.
So I was thinking, does this mean MommyP should eat less healthy to get a girl? :confused3

I saw that on the View yesterday Marita. They said it you eat a hearty breakfast you have a better chance of having a boy....can't see how that would make a difference :confused3

Always thought the gender had to do with the male anyway.

Moo-- you have knobs and handles? I think I want to go all handles but not sure. I had all knobs last time. They are very expensive to replace too. I did when we moved into this house.

Marita -- cool your dd get to travel.

Rob-- Just don't sit at the back or on the wheel wells ( which I always seem to get so my feet have no where to go). Do you lead the kids in song as well. 99 bottles of beer on the bus....

We need to replace the sink in one of our bathrooms. Somehow it got stained and scuffed up, and the stopper is broken. Don't ask me how, I have NO idea!

So I told DH I want it replaced while we still live here, since we have to do it anyway when we go to sell the house eventually. So he went looking, but did not find one that would fit the opening. And he said that a whole new cabinet would cost between $500 and $800 :scared1:

Anyway, he is going to check out some other places, wish us luck! I mean, this seems like a pretty standard sink, from 1981, what could have changed that much?????

Good luck Marita....finding a new sink. That is about right for a new vanity though.

My goodness our gas prices are crazy here. $ 1.22/litre. There is 3.8 litres in a gallon...... :scared1:

Hubby is thinking we will have to sell the trailer because gas in the truck is out of this world and the lease is up this summer. Can't get a smallish car with the trailer. :sad2:

Germantown? :rolleyes1

Yes, but drive the speed limit in that town. I won't say how I know that. :rolleyes1

Random kid story because I feel like I have to contribute something in order to make this a legitimate post....
Today I was working with a first grader and all of a sudden she stops, stares at me, and says in a very loud voice, "OH MY GOSH, YOU HAVE FISH EYES!!!!!!!!!" This was me:  She was so excited and talking so fast going "you have fish eyes and I have fish eyes and I just now noticed it and we both have fish eyes!!!" :hyper: Once she calmed down I asked her what fish eyes were and she said "you know, really big blue eyes, duh."   So, did anyone else know that people with big blue eyes have fish eyes? :confused3 Aside from making me laugh those kids confuse me sometimes.

Glad having Fish Eyes is a goog thing PJ! That is a new one on me. I have a goog parent story to share. Yesterday, a boy hit another one, and when the first boy was asked if he hit the other one, he said NO (while the boy that was hit looked at him like  ). When asked a second time, he said Don't Know. When asked the third time, he said Yes. When asked why, he said I dunno. Well he lost a treat for that infraction, and a note had to go home to mom. When mom was told about the incident, she asked (I kid you not), "did the boy deserve to be hit?" :scared1: HELLO??? Hitting is NOT allowed whether it is deserved (and sometimes it is) or not. Then this same mom was called today to say that her son threw up. While talking to our director, she asked that the director to describe the vomit." HELLO, your kid puked, what more do you want to know? She explained that her son had taken medicine for reflux, and that it was probably just regurgitation. Well, I'm not an expert but if something comes up out of a kid's mouth, it's throw up.

Hope you don't have any crazy mama's at your school PJ.

Behold! The Cake with my new collar bones :rotfl2:
Pict02001-1.jpg

Ooohhhh, can I have a piece?

You look MAHVELOUS Wendy!! :cool2: I wish I drank hooch so I could give it up and lose 20 pounds. :rotfl2:

YUCK a school bus. At least when I did my trip last week we had a nice Charter bus with the movie screens. Luckily, someone had warned me NOT to sit at the back of the bus due to the potty onboard. It did get rather stinky back there on the way home. :scared:

OH, and DD got hit during her softball game tonight. :headache: Not on the head but on her shoulder. We heard it go SMACK when it hit her. She is skin and bones (right Sandy ;) ), and has no body fat to soften the blow. We got ice on it right away, so there hasn't been any bruising yet. It is just red and a little bit raised where it hit her. She got to have a pinch runner for her. For you non- sporting folks, that means somebody ran the bases for her. ;) A little while later the catcher for the other team got hit in the eye, when she took off her mask to hit a fly foul ball. She ended up with a bump and a cut, so I'm counting my blessings, that my DD just has a red shoulder. I just hope it doesn't scar her for the rest of the season. :sad2: She's not very tough.

:earseek: ..wow, utahm., that's a great "hottie pic."...got any cake
left over....

well, its turkey season, aghain. me & the buddies....are having our
usual luck...chasing turkey all over the vinton hills. which means,
as soon as..we get on top..of one ridge..they start gobbling over
the next. first morning...the tree we sit up..has 2 gobblers...
right up above us. of curses, when they fly down......they knew.....
to drop over the other ridge. [ stupid..turkeys..don't they want
to meet us?] . then after..running around, we sit down...and soon
as we hit the hen call...here's they come! unfor., from 2 diffferent
directions..@ the same time..looking this way..., the stupid gobbler,
came around...in front of the other..so when i try to find the other ~~

putt-putt..exit stage left!..don't think..a turkey...can't run as fast...

* well the good thing...are the mushrooms~:thumbsup2

great...one room, has the flooring going in the wrong direction. tried to
convience..my wife/wolf...its loooks ok, didn't fly.

..all my hunting buddies..agreed...forgetting her birthday...was no big deal.
see? right there! the difffernce between men & women. don't women
want you to forget...their birthdays?, they all agreed. no help there...huh?
..there's fine line..actually..of totally forgetting ...versus not remembering
the ways..she was expecting.....tech., its not...like..i forgot. not exactly.

..oh, don't think...she won't used...it , in the future..when she losing..
an argument...then you haven't been listening, " "

old mouseketeers versus new mouseketeers...& the "stars". i think
there was an important..observation..not pointed out~ only annette...
went on...to "show business." compared, to the rest. "kids..need
to be kids"? yuk..this is not...what..walt intended...role models..
would be my guess.

for goodness sakes...the rules of life..don't make exceptions..to being
a star or whatever!...psst, have you really..think..what these stars...
really do? ps, i think...living a normal lifestyle..has its advantages..esp.,
in security....and discovery! :cool2:

now its time..to talk..about more important things? any cake left
for me, utahm.? :flower3:

\ha!..you thought..i was going to say , "lets talk turkey?!"

I came home tonight and crashed, then woke up at midnight and was wide awake. This morning I couldn't get on community pages for some reason, so I had 9 pages to catch up on.:scared1: And geez, the goings on.
UMA- what the hey? moovin' to TN? Yes there are Mormans, there and here. In Bowling Green, there was a 2 room LSD schoolhouse years ago. Many Morman friends back when. Not all Southern Baptists and Church of Christ.
And as far as day care, my sis is the numero uno person to talk to. She had a home day care for 20+ years and is former president of theNational Home and Family Day Care Association. She has worked with several agencies that monitor day care and now owns a day care in a house separate from her home. She has a Masters in early childhood from Concordia University in St. Paul and works with a program at TN State University that mentors and evaluates. She can tell you everything you might need to know.
New son named Donald? IRL?
Yes, I want to party with Mickey(and Donald) at DL. Any idea on party dates?
And I'll join Rob in pleading the fifth(there was a cake in that picture?).
Peej-rule of thumb, fish eyes goog, fish face bad.
Rob-directions to OK Joe's, I'll go anywhere for goog BBQ. My dad worked for a company 30 years and no one in our family ever was as much as on the property there. Times have changed.
BBN- If you want the most serious spellunking, at Mammoth Cave they offer a wild cave tour. I think you have to be under 5'8" and less than 155 pounds. I have a leg that qualifies. One of my old buddies gave that tour for years. He was the only MCNP employee small enough to do it. It is nearly all crawling, so it's for the very cereal spellunker.
Oko, back to bed for 2 hours. Don't worry Lexy, I didn't beat you up for real.
As ? said, "Good night and God bless'"

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

My week from helk is almost over at work. And then I go to laundry helk since I haven't done any of that this week.

Good news! Our office manager came in this week and asked why I had never cashed my Christmas bonus? Huh? I'm sure I cashed it. Ummm....no it never hit the bank? Sooo.....next week I get a new check! Thank you, God!

Wendee....You look splendid! Skinny, good hair, good makeup! Awesome! But I thought the *after* picture was supposed to be in a bikini? :confused3

Rob, Lynette, and BNCG....Fayette Co. won't let parents ride on the bus. You have to follow in your own car. Srsly! Where's the fun in that?

NAB
....I paid $3.55/gallon here yesterday. Practically a bargain by your standards, huh? We have Safety City here but Safety Village sounds so much cuter.

Pumba! Have you ever had to USE the duct tape???

Allie....Scary bad momma! I dare you to say he puked steak and fruit loops next time she asks. What are you supposed to do? Take a picture?

PJ....Fish eyes are goog, I think! :)

DTD....Why do you go to bed so late when you have to get up so early??? I can't do without sleep. Did the Bat Cats spank the Toppers? You never did say?

Monica, Sandy, Celery, Moo, Lil G, everybody
.....:wave2:

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! TGIF! :woohoo:

Good Morning!

Utah: You look amazing! so beautiful... AND you are funny AND smart AND a good mama AND a good cook? the total package. Wish Goofy4UM a happy birthday from all your basement dwelling minesweeper playing message boarding disney freaks, I mean, friends.

Lexy: Sorry you had a helkful week. I hope the weekend is better. Don't let the :laundy: getcha down. :thumbsup2

MommyP: Thinking of you!

DTD: I liked your description of the very cereal spellunker.

Allie: Did he deserve to be hit?!? :rotfl: Smartypants answers you missed

1. Yes. The kid totally had it coming. In fact, I was going to slap him myself if none of the other kids stepped up to the plate.

2. Well yes, but with a goose.

3. No, he only deserved a scratch and maybe a hair pull.

4. I am sorry. I missed witnessing the events leading up to the altercation, I was busy filling out my poop and puke log for the day.

Hey Lil G: what? you are not going to talk turkey?

BNCG: :umbrella: :boat:

Marita: Nice tickers!

Moo:

NAB: Your hubby likes heavy metal? hee hee I know why you were surprised.

Fieldtrippers: Enjoy! I don't do field trips currently. This week I am missing a trip to the firestation, the park, pizza planet and lazer tag. All of which are activities I would enjoy. Back when I only had one child, I always went on the science museum trip. :3dglasses Kids loved me I tell you. I didn't do anything as cool as texting SANTA but I know how to lead a group of kids through an interactive science exhibit.
