Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

SO happy we got our power back this afternoon! It was a long, cold few days!!! We have the heat kicked up to 75 just to try to re-warm everything. It got down into the 30s in our laundry/utility room and 54 in the house :(

Nabbie, I'm glad you have your power back and were able to enjoy part of Christmas! My friend Debbie was actually sleeping at our office to stay warm because she couldn't get a hotel room. She thinks her power is back on tonight because she and her daughter called home and got their answering machine.

Mari and David got me a Very Bradley bag and ID wallet and a few other things for Christmas. I really like them. We had bought WDW tickets for them for our trip last month, as well as covering lodging, so we just sent some stocking stuffers.

Yes, that is a Star Trek quilt Mari made for Don. I think it was for birthday/Fathers Day combined. She did a very nice job making it!

Marita, I also hope your party turned out great. Nice pic on FB :)

YAY for power back!!!!!!!

I am so happy Christmas is over! Funny thing is, 3rd and 4th generation kids never grew up without Christmas Eve at Mike's and Marita's even after divorce, they wanted to come. I could do without it! BUT, TRADITION!!! There were comments about that.

Hubby bought this aweful huge lazy Susan to put on the table this year, engraved even with the family name. The table isn't that big really! And he got even more wine glasses. Which are really nice for a change. He also bought aweful tiny ones with little German figures at the base.
So now, I saved a box to put other glasses in to donate to Goodwill, because I have no room for any more glasses.

I have yet to unload a dishwasher and reload one or two more. But luckily, I now have 5 days of nothing to do. Well, except my nails are a mess, I need a haircut, and I am still wearing the same pair of pants for 3 years in a row every day, so maybe some shopping is in order. If the zipper breaks on these pants, I am SOL, I don't even own a pair of jeans anymore, LOL

Why does the DIS not like the word AWEFUL?

Oh I see, only if its in caps

hello...its me...remember me..

I have been down in the dumps for a while...so many things going on...and I am not Christmas happy ...My mom passed away six years ago..the tenth of Dec. and it makes it hard to really celebrate...

let me update...Hubby and I are still remodeling a little at a time..right now ..the bathroom is being fixed up...wasnt supposed to but it is...he was doing the ceiling and replacing the fan when he stepped on the sink..which is 37 inches long with the bowl on the side near the middle of the bathroom side board...and then the one on the left side is also 37 inches long..he stepped on one sink and it cracked..so off to Lowes to see about getting a replacement..guess what it is a custom order..(great right?)...and cost as much as two sinks to replace these and a new power flusher.....so we have all the items ready to go into place as soon as the New Year comes and goes...dont want to have company coming and they have to go to the lower level bathroom...so one step at a time..

we have had unbelievable cold weather..most of November was in the teens and below zero...NOW have I told you how much I hate snow and winters...and December is snow, ice storm (no power for a day or so)..my sister just got her power back last night and that was from this past Monday...people still without...some crews came to Maine from the south, NJ, Mass, Ct., and even Canada and OHIO...the people of Maine appreciate the way these people came from their own homes and Christmas time to help us out...Mainers appreciate them ..HONEST..

Tomorrow we are in the area for another storm...up to ten inches of the dreaded white stuff...I hate it..hubby talked to his friend in Palm Bay Florida about how we MAY look again for a place to visit that accepts 65 lb dogs...otherwise we are stuck in maine with our baby..who is almost ten years old..

Our granddaughter graduates in may from pharmacy school and she got an offer last week from a pharmacy and is happy as a pig in ....MUD...hahaha...she is very excited...also she gets married in May too...Happy days for our family ..

we are going to the House of the Mouse in April well the end of April into May..and I am sooooooo ready...Our gd and her to be husband are honeymooning in Disney at the Swan....they are very excited too..

well I have missed being here ..I do see some of you over at that Face place...hahaha...

Happy New Year to you all...you are part of my family and I miss you all

Pumba-- I hear you on the Christmas blues. And this year did not help one bit.

Your weather sounds like ours, it is pretty mild today and are calling for rain tomorrow. It better be just rain and not that freezing stuff again. There are about 200 people still without power here in town. I really feel for them. It has been over a week for them.

Trying to catch up on all the wash from the holiday week. So many clothes changes makes for a ton of dirty laundry. Plus the bedding I will be had it all day. But I am actually looking forward to staying home for a change and not running. That made me really tired, late nights , sleeping in has really thrown me off.

Not sure what we are going to do for New Years Eve, maybe just stay in like always. Church has a dance this year but not sure I want to go out.

We have to wait until March for our next trip to WDW. Spending 2 days there before a Disney Cruise . Hubby said we could have went to Europe for the cost of this trip , since it is our kids March break the prices are up there . Especially for flights.

Hi, Marie! Most of our ice is off the trees, but I think our brief warm up is over and the temperature is plunging again :(

Nabbie, in the city where I work, the news is saying there are over 3000 people still without power. Unfortunately, our generator got fried when the power came back on. Hubby didn't flip the switch and all the wires overheated due to the electric city back feeding into the generator, so we have to buy a new one and it will be a bit bigger. Sure hope we don't lose power before we can replace it!

Update: People still without power is now under 800 :)

Yeah it was above by 5 today but they say we could get freezing rain again tonight or snow. I want snow. I am done with the ice. I think most have there power back but they are having problems with people moving down branches and knocking it out again. They are telling people to leave the down branches someone will come mulch them etc.

Hopefully you won't need that generator for a while. Here you couldn't find one if you wanted one.

This has been the worse weather year we have ....tornados, flooding , ice storms you name it.

Can't wait for the New Year. We are heading out to the church dance on New Year's Eve. Haven't gone out in years, but it is close and we will know people there so it will be nice to socialize.

Hope you have a good time at the Dance..

We went out today to get meds before the year ends...and some bar soap..and some more glucosamine for the doggie...and then bread and some good burger to put in with the moose burger...going to make a bazillion meatballs tomorrow...I love a good meat-a-ball..

I am hoping that the storm coming in for Thursday will be a blow over..but this is Maine...so never can tell...we were in the foot mark for last nights storm..hubby went out and snowblowed the driveway...the area to the oil thingie...then around the back yard for Megara to have a trail to follow...hopefully she doesnt slip on anything..hubby let her go without a leash ..that has been since July..

SO HAPPY NEW YEAR ...bestest friends ever..

Thanks Pumba , I hope we do too.

We usually only get out to one dance a year and that is his work Christmas party. We went to the supper part but didn't stay for the dance. That was the day of my Aunt's funeral so I didn't feel like partying. Then of course my other Aunt died the day before too. We paid $80. for the tickets so we thought we would at least get the meal. All around sad Christmas for our family. My mom is taking it hard. She barely slept when we were there at Christmas but you can't blame her.

Pumba-- to you have a lot of snow? We have snow but it is pretty hard from the ice storm. It is really cold today. My car windows froze inside today because of the puddles left in the floor mats. I hate that.

We went out to the mall today thinking others went back to work. Bad idea, it was crazy people almost running over people for parking spots. I wanted to get panty hose....haven't bought any in a long time almost fainted at the price. I used some of my Christmas money on a new fancy clutch for tomorrow night. I told Hannah she can use it when she gets older....:lmao: If I was closer to family I'm sure I could have borrowed one.

I can see hannahs face when you said she can borrow it when she gets older..

YES we have a lot of snow...the ice that we had that left thousands without power is under the snow...and now the temps are falling and with windchills could be 20 below zero in some of the higher parts of Maine...5 below for us tonight is enough..HAHAHHA

Hubbies cousin died the 12th ..unexpected....she was only 55 .one of his other cousins died this summer ..but that was a blessing as she was veyr very sick...very sad for the family too..and the funeral was on another snowstorm day...it was horrible...slipped and slid into the funeral home parking lot...Hope and pray that 2014...is fantastic for all of the Moo'vers....hugs to all

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIENDS!!![/SIZE

]I'm a little tippsy from the party but had a great time. Love partying with the priest of our church. He even sang two songs for us. Not sure if you remember but he was the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. We closed the night down if that tells you anything about the night. I told him he is not going to be able to get up for church for 10:00 tomorrow. I know I am not going to be. Hubby was designated driver so he gave me a lot to drink tonight and I'm not a drinker...:lmao:

Hope you all have a healthy and happy new year, I'm ready for this year to be over. Best be going to bed....not good to write after drinking it could get sappy. :rotfl:

I know that we all have our own lives...but I have missed talking to you all every day..
Facebook sort of got in the way..hahaha..

Last night hubby and I were in bed and asleep before eleven...that happens when one gets "elderly"...hahaha..
I crack myself up...

Waiting for Disney to come out with room discounts for up to the end and beginning of May...my DIL was hoping for either room discounts or dining opts..

Oh well..we are booked so that is all that matters...and we have our air booked..

It was twelve below when we got up this morning...can you believe that...

OOPS..forgot I will be very very quiet until you New years Eve peeps wake up..

Happy new Year to amazing people..

So tired last night went to bed at 8:00 and slept for 12 hours. I must be getting old. Doesn't help that we have a cold going from person to person here. Nicholas had it first, then Hannah and now me. I'm all stuffy and sneezing.

Got most of my Christmas stuff down yesterday. I have way to much stuff. Still got more to do today and then clean and put the stuff I had to put away back out. Making me tire just thinking about it.

Really cold here , I'm glad everyone has there power back on now. At least I think they all do. There was still 200 people without on New Year's Eve.

Guess I better getting moving....or not , the kids and hubby are still off until Monday maybe we will go out instead when they get up. Not as if all this stuff has to be put away right....

Pumba, Disney Visa just announced 30% discounts during your time period, I think!

Nabbie - Sounds like you might be having some grief/depression on top of your cold :( Multiple losses can hit you pretty hard. Hang in there!

I didn't put up any Christmas stuff this year. I was going to the Sunday before Christmas and that was when our power went out, so no cleanup for me this year... We weren't really in the mood this year anyway not having Mari home. The hazards of celebrating the holidays Veterans Day week, I guess! Don't think we'll be doing that again.

Moo-- You maybe right everything is so out of wack right now.

What is with this weather. First the ice storm now it is -17 F with the wind chill. Crazy. Looks so nice and sunny out there too. I can see water pipes breaking now. Hopefully not ours.

Heading back to my mom's. We usually don't do visits this close but the kids are still off and Nicholas doesn't have to work this weekend so why not. I will make sure we have blankets in the car wouldn't want to break down with out them today , hats and mittens too.

morning everyone..
It is FINALLY UP TO 3 Degrees...it was 12 below zero when I got up..but some of the places had 24 below and that was without the winds...no winds thank goodness.
My DIL got the visa discount and the disney person that applied it messed it up so she was on the phone yesterday for an hour and they finally have her down for one reservation..perferred room...and money where it is supposed to be and money back in her own account where it was ..
We are hoping for room only discount coming out on Monday...stay tuned for another hopefully NON MESS UP.

I started the beginning of steak soup last night and then we went out to the chinese buffet...even in the 4 below zero temps...nothing better then a few plates of crab legs and steamers...and then of course some chinese food..but i was good and kept it in the right numbers of carbs..(I am trying)..
so steak soup to finish off this afternoon and then make a loaf of bread in the bread maker..I will have one BIG slice..hahaha...nothing better then bread that is still warm...gotta love that..

Hope you feel better with yoru cold Nab...it isnt fun ..My neighbor has the flu and I asked her ..HOW come no shot and why didnt you go to the doctors and get tamiflu...she said that stuff is not good for people...yah ..ok...I had the flu one year and I was down for the count for over a week...I take the shot...better safe then sorry...

have a good weekend everyone..
ME aka MOI aka Pumba aka Marie:goodvibes

Pumba-- this the first year I never got out and got the flu shot. My sinuses are really full and now I have a sore throat so not sure if the flu shot would have helped that.

We got an email from Disney saying we can pick our fast passes before we leave home so I guess we get magic bands after all. I thought they were still in the trial stage and only a few get them. We will only be in the parks two days before out cruise. Anyone of these bands? Moo? Do you get to keep them or do you have to hand them back in. I will have to do some more research guess. Be glad not to do the finger scan thing it always screws up on me.

The cold weather is a better today, not above though but -7 is a lot better to me then -30 . Bracing for a lot of snow tomorrow night into Monday. Kids are hoping for a snow day on the first day back.

Nab, sorry you are sick (:.

You can keep the Magic Bands, even use them on another trip if you want (as long as you have tickets), but you would still get new ones too.

Nothing new here...

hello you all..

We are in for the freezing rain and then ice of course (rolling eyes here)...then rain tomorrow and then plunge again into the zero numbers...have I told you how much I hate winters..and ice and snow and all of the above..hahaha..I say that every year...again hubby said..lets go for a few..big sigh here..

marita..did you make the crabmeat mousse for your gathering..?? My sister in law made it again for ours and I kept some of the leftovers when she left...my favorite stuff...

Last night I made steak soup and home made bread and omg it ws so good...I do love that stuff..hubby must of ..he had three bowls...rofl..

Hope you all have a great day and upcoming week..

Hi Pumba, sorry about your weather again! We are getting frost here for the next couple of days too, hubby will have to go on frost control to keep the plants at Disney from freezing. Not a fun job!

No, I never did make the mousse, I had all the ingredients, but I ran out of time and energy. I'll make it some weekend to try it out now that I have everything in the house.

Marita -- glad I'm not on vacation down there now. I can get that weather at home.

They are calling for freezing rain now. I would prefer snow. Not doing anything yet so maybe it will just pass us. :lmao:
