Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

Cold wet and dreary out there right now. Hoping it takes a break at Trick or Treat time. I bought 300 dum dum suckers and two bags of chocolate so I have enough for over 400. We get a ot of kids, so I have to ration the candy to one treat a kid.

I accomplished getting my laundry caught up today, went to the dentist-no cavitites!, picked up candy, and stuff to make a pot of chili and mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped in thin pieces of crescent dough then baked), I swept, mopped, and picked up the crap my family is blind to.

It is before 2, and I think I deserve a nap!

Have a great night!

Nab, you can keep the rain, but thanks for the offer :cool2:

Getting the kind of weather Central Florida is famous for now (an old tag line from TV news, along with "It's 10pm, do you know where YOUR children are?")

We got maybe 7 or 8 groups of kids for trick or treat. I coulent imagine 400, Mony! :scared: We live on the last street in the subdivision at the end of the cul-de-sac, so we never have a lot of traffice. This does not prevent hubby from buying a lot of candy every year though. So I have lots of leftovers I do not need to have in the house....

Mony -- That is a lot of kids we usually get 150 but only got 84 this year. It poured on them too. They we out with umbrellas. Didn't stop the high school kids though. :lmao:

Marita -- I remember them saying that at night on the news too. Do you know where your children are....haven't heard that in a long time.

They said we will be having this weather until tomorrow at least. It is cold too. I will be bring in all the decorations today so they don't blow away. Will wait to the kids are in school to put out the pumpkins or they will probably end up on the road smashed before the garbage/compost guy can make it around.

I am sending the left over candy to either the church or the school. Both are collecting it to take to a third world country a doctor in the area goes. They give the kids candy when they give them a shot or want to calm them down for the visit. He does this every year.

Well on to the next holiday...Christmas! Even though the stores have had the trees up for over a week now.

I have way too much candy left over, the weather sucked! Sorry fort bad grammar but it did.

hello..
I wonder what the sun looks like...it would be so nice to lay in the sunbeam on the comfy rug...
Hubby went hunting with our son...our "kid" is at a conference in another town, and I am sitting here in my jammies...waiting for a call back from the doctors office..
The last three months I have had to call in for a refill on my BP meds...and then they call it into the pharmacy...I asked..its not a new med so why do I have to do this...and also I want to know what my blood tests results were...IS THAT TO MUCH TO ASK..

let me think what else am I crabbing about..
Nothing I guess..
I just need some sun...
Yesterday my neighbor called and said lets go for a walk...and walk we did..4.2 miles ..and I am not sore today like I was on our first jaunt...which was 3.7...we did that three times and now this one yesterday...it was QUITE a walk especially those dang hills..wish it was all flat grounds..

we had almost 50 kids for halloween and I gave out chips and pretzels and cheese twists and doritoes and fritos....it was so much fun..one large group came by with a tractor pulling a flat bed with lights on it and a big umbrella with lights...the kids were so darn cute and the parents were awesome...it rained a little bit but not much..
Plenty of kids that were sweet and polite...I love when they say thank you without the parents prodding them..had a great time..

so guess I will wait for the call and get off this puter...have a good day and DONT FORGET TO DO THE CLOCKS ON SATURDAY NIGHT WHEN YOU LAY YOUR HEAD DOWN...:dance3:

I got home early today and was able to surprise the girls and pick themnupnfrom school. We had a half day of school and got to do some planning and they needs Tim to train a teacher so they put me in her class and what I thought on my end started out great but went south quick was really par for the course in her class. I thought I lost control but even she struggles at times with them.

This is the class I will be transferring to when my first placement ends. So. Got my toes wet and have reflected on how to react better next time.

34 days til graduation!!!!

Mony-- You are still on a learning curve you will get it. I admire what you are doing. I would not have the patience. Yay on graduation coming so soon.

It sure has been cold her, I am almost ready to break out the winter coat. On a brighter note we say the sun today. :cool1:

Went to the mall today to find jeans for Nicholas. Came home empty handed. He is one picky kid. Glad he has to wear a uniform to school. Hannah bought rubber duck flannel p.j's and monkey earmuffs.

Well Football is over for the season, they have there banquet and some other thing and we are done. I am glad because it was really affecting his last period class that he missed a lot of. Now to wash everything up and pack it away for next year.

Nab, sorry its gettin cold up there. We are just now gettin into our "this is the weather Central Florida is famous for" season. Blue skies and 70's. We do suffer for many months in the summer to get to this.

I have a pretty cool week coming up. Tuesday is a Finance People apprectiation day at FOod and Wine, which I will only go to if I can get a parking pass from Boardwalk, I cant walk that far. They had this last year and gave us a $15 girft card to use at F&W. Thursday is the Service Celebration for 10+ CM's at the Studios. 20+ have an extra hour for a special reception. :snooty: They used to do a special sit down dinner with big entertainment, then dummed it down to Disney entertainment, now we get one hour of whatever.

Anyway, supposedly the Osbourne lights are up, yay, we havent seen them in years, and they hace entertainment and food all ocer the park. The park closes at 4 to the public, and the spcial reception is at 6:30. And they say they have a special fireworks for us, plus I get a gold lanyard for 40 years, LOL. I am hoping they have Toy Story open, probably my only chance to see it.
So after all that excitement, I am taking Friday off.

Oh, edit:

So yesterday I got my nails and toes done, getting ready for the party (plus I was past due) and was going to color my hair today. Well, as I was trying to mix the color, the bottle slipped out of my hand and into the toilet, but not without spilling over onto the floor, the cabinet, the shower, etc. It was a mess!!! And it did color! So I ended up just doing a root application........... And of course it tried to color the toilet too.

Marita - Sounds like a fun week! Hope you get your parking pass so it is walkable.

It has been hard coming back to the cold weather.

And, sorry to be a bearer of sad news, but we learned late last night that our nephew died last night in a motorcycle accident in California - he was the youngest son of my husband's brother who passed after a surgery when he was 42. Chris was a 29 year old Marine who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, then was stationed in CA fairly recently. Married with three young children. We were so shocked and saddened to hear the news. We're still waiting to hear some additional information. All we know is that he hit a tree. So tragic for his mother and brother who have suffered so much loss ... prayers for his family would be greatly appreciated.

Moo-- How sad for your family, I will keep them in my prayers. :grouphug:

Marita-- Glad you didn't stain the bathroom walls with that hair dye. I have plenty of clothes ruined from doing my mom's hair.

Really cold today we are sitting at 0 this morning. But it is brighter out since the time change so that is good.

We got our Christmas picture done this weekend so maybe I will start writing them out and have them done by the time I pick them up. I usually mail them out Dec. 1 but the way the months have been flying by maybe I should start early.

Thanks, Nabbie. Looking forward to seeing this year's Christmas photo!

We finally got a few more details about our nephew's accident. There may have been debris or grease on the road. The city and Marines are both doing autopsies. Sure hope nothing is found that would affect his family receiving military benefits. Sounds like there will be a battalion ceremony in California in a couple weeks with ashes interred at Arlington in December. Not sure if we'll be attending; most likely not.

Those poor people in N.Y and Alantic City are getting hit by bad weather again. Can't imagine the people without heat and electricity.

It has been really cold here the last two days. Suppose to go to double digits by the weekend but I don't believe the weather man.

Got all my leaves and flowerbeds cleaned for the winter. Have 10 compost bags to put out with the garbage tonight. Now I just need to work on the inside of my house. It is a wreck.

No offense but I am glad your election is over so I can get my tv shows back ....

the other night...I was in the ladies room...and I flushed and then turned on the faucet to wash up before bed and then OMG...the toilet started shaking and rumbling like it was going to explode...yelled and then came out of the bathroom and yelled for my hubby..he was downstairs in the computer room...he came up and then looked into the commode and yuck..looked like you dont want to know like what...and he took off the lid and it was brown in there too ...so he turned the faucet on and it was full of air and brown water...so we did that to all the faucets...he looked outside to see if there was anything going on in the streets...nope...then he said call the water dept...so I did...and it was NATURALLY an answering machine but gave another number in case of a no water or septic back up...so the nice lady said...when I asked if there was anything wrong with the water in our area and she laughed...and said..did you forget to pay your bill...and I said NO I have water but its brown and she laughed and said...its a water main break .down the road..Thank you GOD...I was so happy..brown does not excite me

yesterday we had snow and ice...and then rain..today FINALLY THE SUN is here....I love sunbeams...

Hope you all have a great day...

Moo very sorry for your loss. My nephew is a Marine stationed on CA too. Just left for his second tour in Afghanistan

I have a week and two days left of teaching/planning in my special ed room then I transition back to being a helper for a few days. My last 2 days she wants me to observe in other classes.

Time is flying!

Oh remember DH company sent him to FL last year for meetings? They are doing it again this February. I finish school end of Jan and he asked if I would want to come down this tine. How is the weather the first week of February in FL?

Moo, so sorry for your loss, how sad.

Pumba, Yikes on your water issue:sick:

Mony, hope you get to go this time, I know how mad/disappointed you were last year.

I went to the Service Celebration at Disney last night, 40 for me and 35 for hubby, so we each got to bring a guest and took DD and her boyfriend(unoffical fiancee). We had a great time. There was a red carpet reception with screaming fans (I could have done without that), they passed champagne and lobster tails and beef wellingston on a stick and lots of desserts. I dont thnk we had any desserts. They also had lots of other foods, the one I had most of was the biggest shrimp I have ever seen!
This all was at the Studios. They had Toy Story Mania open and Star Tours TOT and RNR. I did the first two, the rest also did RNR. Then they had fire works. Tons of food and drink stations everywhere, along with lots of tables to sit at. And Blue Martinis. I think I had 3 martinies in glow glasses (DD collected them) and about 3 or 4 glasses of red wine. It was a great night!
And I took today off, woot! This will most likely be my last celebration, in 5 years I will likely be retired.

PS: They also had the Osbourne lights on.

Thanks, everyone. I was in quite a funk today between the news about our nephew, Chris, and a work meeting that went badly yesterday. I holed up in my room and called in sick today. I slept and read most of the day and am feeling better tonight.

Yuck, Pumba! Glad it was only a water main break, at least that is fairly easily fixable!

Mony, prayers for safety for your nephew. We've been to WDW in mid-February and had good weather. A bit chilly in the morning, but comfortable in the afternoon.

Marita - Congrats on your work anniversary celebration! Great FB photo :) Looks like they had a nice event for you!!!

Nabbie - We're glad TV is back to normal too!

Marita...what a great time you all had....and the food sounds YUMMY...you and your husband should be proud of your years there...not everyone stays with a company that long...congratulations to you both..

Moo....My nephew died in a car accident 16 years ago...he was just 21 the day before...a truck forced him off the road and back then...seat belts werent required...so he was thrown out of the car...he was under the car and drowned in five inches of water...no other injuries...will always be in our hearts...as your nephew will be too....I am sorry for all of you and his family....

So hubby is out hunting and I am skip this year...the ticks are everywhere...I have to inspect his back area when he comes home and takes off his hunting gear in the white tiled bathroom down stairs...that way we can see if one of those little buggers are on the floor...and yes we have found some on him and also on the dining room table when we were eating...obviously it got under his watch band...scares me to death...i would rather see a bear in the woods then a bug...(cause I have my trusty 44 in my hands in the woods..HEHEHE)

see ya later gators and have a great day

Thanks to our troops who have served and are still serving.

We wear a red poppy to show our support for our Veterans. I wear my proudly because without them I would not live in a free country.

The crud was making an appearance yesterday and today it had full blown hit me! Tonight is my husbands work holiday party which is always a nice time very swanky and he even has a tux for it. Ugggh!

They are getting ready for catechism and church and I am staying behind. It's family catechism today so I didn't have to plan for my class, at least that worked out.

Mony-- Don't you just hate when you forget things then have to scramble. Hope you have a nice dress to match his tux so your not scrambling on that part.

I find time is flying by these days....I used to start Christmas shopping in Oct even Sept. sometimes now I haven't gave it much thought other then our pictures. Saw Christmas trees up in peoples windows last night. :faint: Today is going to be warmer so the house lights are going up but won't be turned on until the 25th of Nov. One month before.

Pumba-- hope you got your water problem solved. Yuck..

Moo-- Are you off tomorrow? For Veterans Day? Govnment, banks and post offices get off tomorrow since our Remembrance Day fell on a Sunday. School are open.

Marita-- I too saw your picture on FB. Nice looking family. Glowing drinks , aren't they the best.
