Marita I have a friend who is doing family history research. Can you translant any of this?

This is what she posted:

OK kids, one of my scans from a 1914 issue of something I have no clue. My great grandfather is there on the lower left (Gustav Mertens). Anyone have any idea what this is all about? I only get there are six new somethings and I think a harvest is mentioned.

Sorry, yes, it is too hard to read. I didn't get tag or anything else :confused3

Cel's boyfriend is very cute....and he called her a cutie...I DO LOVE IT...

Got calls from Home Depot...from American Carpet and from someone else but beats me who the heck it was....and they all agreed that it was damaged...and I was thinking...NO WAY SHERLOCK...but that is not what came out of my mouth....so they will go with the new floor we picked out and we shall see in two or so weeks...oy oy oy..
so the disgusting crap on the floor...gray cement that is still sticky...is sticking to the shoes and other stuff...

and my Ava...today was my last day...makes me sad...but I can handle being on my own again...she kept me very very busy these last almost 4 years....she is such a card...and I love her and I will miss her...

we went to get an ice cream and the place was closed...go figure...rofl...
night and see you tomorrow

Haven't been over to my FB in a long time but had to go check out Celery's new boyfriend.

Pumba-- Sorry to hear about your floor issues. That would be a pain.

Not much happening here either. Just shuffling the kids to the places they need to go. Long weekend coming up and we are not doing anything either. We were going to go camping but everything was booked up fast and Nicholas is scheduled for the church thing on Sunday. Right in the middle of the long weekend. Hannah's birthday is on Friday so she is having one of her friends for a sleepover.

Hannah had a moving up ceremony at Guides last night. They gave her flowers, a nice poem,a Canadian flag and a compass. She was suppose to get the Lady Baden-Powell pin last night too but they didn't come in. Only 5 in her troupe are getting this award. It is the highest award given. They had to do a lot of work , research and community service to get this pin.

NAB, that's awesome, you must be very proud of Hannah.

Nothing new here. Had a heck of a drive home tonight, an accident on the beachline that made for stop and go traffic for 30 minutes and then horrible congestion in the rain. Hate those days!

morning everyone...
I was so tired this morning ..that after hubby got up with the dog I rolled over and slept more...Disney is catching up with me...
I cant believe how much we work at Disney and having fun...

I sent out postcards to two kiddos when we were in Disney...I hope that they get them...M M ..if you hear that Andrew got his would you let me know please...thanks...I always worry that some how those cards get lost in the mail...It is fun saying stuff to kids that we dont know...I know that my grandkids loved getting theirs and thinking how did they know that they are coming to Disney..

Hubby has two more weeks off on issues with his two surgerys on his hands...They are not up to par yet..He messed up and tried to hammer the inside trim on the windows...and he didnt do a good job ...brought him to his knees...The doctor told him go about regular business NOT HAMMERING...after he goes back on the 29th of May...the shipyard may not want him on their conditions...four hours the first week, six hours the second week and then back to normal work hours...
I dont mind having him home...he makes the coffee in the morning...sometimes a wee bit strong and I have to check for hair on my chest...hahaha..

have a good day my friends

Pumba - Thanks again for your help with the postcard! I'm not sure whether I'll hear if he got it because it was my physical therapist's son and he only worked with me the first two weeks I was home. But, you never know, he may give me a call ;)

Hope your hubby feels better soon and doesn't overdo!!!

I know I'm still pretty tired being back at work and am looking forward to the weekend so I can rest up again! Although, I am going to a wine festival Saturday, so that may be a little tiring, LOL!!!

Nabbie - Congrats to Hannah! Hope she has a great birthday :)

Hannah was upset that everyone was going to be away for the long weekend but she found one friend who isn't going until Saturday so she pounced on that. She is decorating the basement for this one girl and planing out her night. Just finished baking her giant cookie. We were caked out from Nicholas last week.

Moo-- you might be tired from the wine festival but you won't be feeling no pain. :rotfl: Hope someone else is driving so you can enjoy it. Don't over do it!

Marita-- I hate driving in the rain. Did you get your hair cut yet? When are you going to see your son again?

Pumba-- I second Moo, make sure your hubby doesn't try to do to much to soon.

Nicholas had his first baseball game last night. These boys are getting really good, it was an exciting game we were head then they tied us and the other team won by one.

Well I am off to get snacks for tonight for two little girls, how much can they really eat.....I guess what they don't Nicholas will polish off.

Fortunately, I am not the driver! I told my friends that I couldn't drive because I may need to take some pain medication if the walking is too much for me.

This group of friends is pretty conservative - I'm sure we will just take a little nap in the car before heading home, if need be! ;)

earlier today I brushed my hand up aside the railing down the stairs out back...it is made of pressure treated wood so hubby kept after me to dig the splinter out..IT HURT SOOOOOOO bad...and I dug with a needle and then I tried to pick it out with the tweezers and then I got the magnifier glass and finally after two hours and OMG BOO BOO's ...it came out..so antibitotic ointment and a bandaid...
I cant believe how a little splinter could hurt so bad..I always did the kids that came here ..if I hurt you I would say..I will give you a quarter...never hurt the kids but their splinters didnt go in that deep..

SO whats up...hahaha...
have a good night

hellloooooooooooooo echo echo echo...

ANYONE HOMEEEEEEEEEEE...echo echo echo.......

its me..
another beautiful day.....yesterday up north for KT's beaus grad party...they are here now ...as tomorrow he starts his new job as Town manager...way to go Scottie...

we are cleaning the pool out and its still green but hubby went to get the algacide and cholrine stuff...

we are ready for action...ROFL..as long as there are no dead animals or peeps in there...we will be all set....and SNAKES TOO...ewwwwwwww..

What beautiful weather for a long weekend.

We were out and about with my FIL yesterday. It was funny because he has been care taker for so long and they never went anywhere. We took him out for dinner at a restaurant and everything was so new to him, even reading the menu. The we took him to the show , theaters are way bigger these days. He is 74 and hasn't been to a show in at least 50 years. I think they made him deaf because they went to see the Avenagers. :lmao:

Just went for a nice drive down by the lake today. The kids and hubby got a slurpee for a treat.

Should really have been working in my flowerbeds.

Pumba-- lucky you to have a pool for the summer. We can't even get one of those stand along ones at every department store. Our lot looks flat but has a slight run down to the corner so it would be too hard to level one of those.

I'm sure we will be up late watching fireworks. They have been going off all weekend in the neighbourhood. We usually get the kids some sparklers and let others spend the money on the big stuff that we can just look up in the sky to see.

Well we are still having nice weather here. The humidity is creeping up though.

Had a busy day. Nicholas called me from his track and field meet to tell me he hurt his ankle. I tell you I am going to put him in a bubble. Took him to the doctors because it was really swollen. Said he could have cracked small bone in his ankle and ordered x rays. But it is definitely sprained. He was suppose to do his second disk event tomorrow, that is out as well as baseball tonight.

Just had enough time to rush home get Hannah fed and off to Guides. Had to pick up her friend tonight too. I knew it was going to be busy but wasn't counting the doctor wait or the x-ray wait. Even if it is cracked you can't do anything but ice it and put the foot up and rest it. I guess it is like a broken toe everything heals on it's own.

Pumba-- did you get your pool open, our neighbours opened theirs yesterday.

Moo-- Hope your knee is feeling better now and your not over doing it.

Marita-- When do your go to Montana again? If it is warming up here I can imagine how warm it is there....

So my mom told me she wanted to go to WDW or US for a vacation with us and if I could make it all work out, she would pay for it. Can you believe that???????????

She has some money set aside and she wants to go on a trip with us.
(Plus between us my sister is taking her bf and kids on an alaskan disney cruise and my mom is ticked that she wasn't asked to go! My husband reminded me that my mom did give her some money to put toward her disney vacation club investment or something like that at one point too. Yep, I'd be ticked.)

Can I work it out? You better believe I will work it out! Was that a challenge?

They only thing is we have to go in August. I know it will be hot, but that's when I can go before I start back in school. I don't know if July is any better weather wise, but it is what it is.

So I have to compare renting homes, staying on site etc. Driving down, paying for gas and food, etc. And which parks to visit. My boys are very excited to go to US. They say they can do both in a day. I only have interest in seeing HP. My girls and I have to do WDW. I can't be in Orlando and not do WDW. My mom suggested I skip it and it was like the air got sucked out of me. Can I skip it? That is tough!

I will not purchase tickets and be limited to what I can do at US/IA. Plus I think 4 days will really get old of just US/IA. I don't ride roller coasters as a hobby. I can do RNRC once or twice in one day and I've only done EE once to say I did it. Is there more to do at the other place? I do want to see the HP attraction world what ever its called, but all the other simulator stuff gets me sick. My style is MK and HS and Epcot. Animal Kingdom is fun, but its too hot and everything is far apart for August. I can do those three others. Heck I can do MK 4 days in a row and would love it!

I got my prices, Im just trying to justify what we do.

Crazy week is over. My daughter was so beautiful on her day of First Holy Communion. We had a great party and the weather was amazing. It actually took me two days to recover. I never take naps and I did today and yesterday. I guess that is me just feeling my age.

Any comments from my in the know friends? This surely was not expected but my mom is really the best!

Nab, we are goint to Montana in early August. And yes, I finally got my hair cut, I dont think I ever answered that.

Mony, how great of your mom to offer to pay for your trip. And you can absolutely NOT not go to Orlando without going to Disney.
Parts of the new Fantasyland will be open and so will the Art of Animation suites. Those are just made for your family size! Expensive, but look for discounts.

Here is a nice overview:

morning..
Pool is still being worked on...the algae on the bottom is two years old and some of the stuff that fell off the IRENE hurricane tree into the pool last August is still on the deep end...BUT its not green green ...more like pea soup green now...so off to the store to get more shock it and algae eater...then maybe we can see some progress...cause this weekend it is going to be HOT HOT HOT..I love hot if I have the pool open...
Saturday we have to go to our granddaughters recital...she is six and so darn cute...but somehow I have to work it so I can eat something before going in...as her's starts at five thirty...four groups in two days...geesh..

went to the doctors yesterday and even though my bp is a little high ..I only gained one pound on our disney trip eating fest...hahaha..

mony look at the dis site and see what is on a discount for august...I dont know if free dining is still available or not..havent been with the program since I got back from the House of the mouse...if it isnt available...look at the menus for all the parks and resorts...we stayed at Pop but I really LOVE Movies and French Quarter...Movies has a great food court...the theme is wonderful at both...

okey off to get my act together...have to buy some more fans as last night was a hot hot night and I didnt sleep...so fell back to sleep at five am and slept until seven thirty..

We watched a similar video showing those same shots yesterday on line.
We have a 30% code to stay anywhere on disney property except the Art of Animation.

I can get two rooms at POP for 64.50 most nights and 75.50 weekends. per room. Which is I think a really good rate. I have to fit 7 of us somewhere. The family suites look amazing at AA but I can't afford them. I did get a rate to stay in a cabin as well for not much more so that is a thought but we would have to squeeze my mom in somewhere and I want to be comfortable so two rooms at Pop sound like the best option, as usual.

Can we walk over the bridge to see AA? Is that still there?

This is the bonus. My mom has a 7 day non expiring ticket. She doesn't need to purchase herself a theme park tickets. The room quote I got a few weeks ago won't change. We will purchase our own tickets probably through undercovertourist.com and just get a room only.

If we stay on property we save gas money and parking costs. Isn't it like $14.00 a day to park? The price I got for the home rental will eat the savings in paying to park and gas to drive there each day.

I think we will go and visit US/IA once and we will have to just skimp somewhere else.

Can you bring sandwhiches and snacks into the park? Water etc. Have rules changed there? Free Dining starts at end of September.

I am doing research I have been trying to find a way for us to pay for this on our own. I am always about finding the best deal. Thanks for your input and any other thoughts you can add!

You show your resort key and you dont have to pay for parking at the parks ...that is nice for that and also for AP holders...
But the buses at Pop were right on the ball...we didnt have to wait maybe four or five minutes for buses and at night going back maybe two or three buses would pull up...very good I think for transportation..

The food court at Pop was good too...I loved the theme of this place...we paid a little extra and got front of the pool view rooms...

Go to the Resort board and scroll until you see FAQ for Pop Century..there is an amazing topic there and shows rooms and blds and what to ask for ...just amazing the job a lady did ..

You can bring anything to the parks..I saw plenty of people eating what they brought...they may of bought the cold drinks and something at a food CS in the parks...or around the areas...I know they once frowned on that..OUr water that we had from our food court did not stay cold in the parks...but there are fountains you could fill your bottles up with..

Hope this helps...I am excited for you...but still pooped as having fun is a lot of work..
make sure you go back to your resort and take a break..LIKE SWIMMING and enjoying some down time..that is when it will be the hottest...get your second wind to go back after...
