Oh, yup - that would be a second cousin! Sorry, Nabbie - not sure why I was thinking he was your nephew. Just not reading very carefully tonight, I guess. We had a little snow earlier today, but just a dusting (thank goodness). We have less than an inch on the ground from earlier in the week.

Talked to Mari tonight. She doesn't think she has a very good shot at the job she interviewed for this week, darn it. I'm just happy we'll be seeing her again soon for Christmas.

Moo-- Sorry Mari didn't get the job.

Well we just had a dusting last night but it is lightly snowing now again. I won't complain because up north from us and to the west they have school closed. Hopefully it is coming our way.

I'm volunteering at the school today. It is turkey lunch day. They do this every Dec. I'm just helping serve it and clean up...others are making the turkeys etc.

Good thing I can walk to the school, don't have to clean off the car. Sad part is we have a two car garage that we can't fit even one car into for all the junk. :sad2:

morning everyone..

no snow day here but up north where our granddaughter goes to college all have snow days...up to a foot of snow.....this is their last week before Finals...so they were updating and looking over things this week.
I hate snow.....

Our dil was going to get our granddaughter an American Girl doll......but M is only four and a half so maybe next year....she found one of the catalogs and fell in love with one of the girls....

just called hubbies doctor and my doctor as we both needed refills for our meds.so he can go and get it this evening

I did not know how much work goes into Turkey Lunch. I thought I was only going to be there a couple of hours I was there from 9:00 ( she caught me dropping off the kids...) to 2:30 in the afternoon. I got to serve the stuffing and gravy. All the little kids didn't want the stuffing but most of the big kids did. I was surprised no one dropped there plates. We loaded them up and had a tons left over. We took that over to the soup kitchen.

All the kids were so polite with their yes please too. And then all the little kids came up and said thank you , so cute.

My feet are hurting.

its nice to have some polite kiddos.......and the meal sounds wonderful.....I could do another turkey dinner right now.......the company where hubby works gave out gc's for up to a 20 lb bird at the local stores......so we have that and we got two small birds when they were on sale.....I love the bird....

we went to walmart tonight to get ice scraper for the new truck and some winter wiper blades......also hubby is the Santa for our family party and we needed 36 or so candy canes.......so we are ready for that party...

he has been doing it for a few years now and really loves it......one party...one of my great nieces was jumping up and down and my hubby said do you have to go pee and she said yes ...but she was so excited ...so hub told her to go and he would save her spot, cause santa doesnt like wet bottoms on his suit.....it was really cute.

Yes you got to love little kids and what comes out of there mouths. I had to say do you want stuffing , then dressing because they didn't know what it was.. One little guy said I don't want stuffing but I will take the dressing , funny part was I showed it too him and he said no but when I said dressing.:lmao: Scooped that out of the stuffing pan.

Pumba is you hubby tall. I hate cleaning off the truck in the winter. Too short to do the windshield. Santa story is so cute. What kind of candy canes did you get, I can't believe how many different flavours there is out there now.

nope ..hubby and I are from short Frenchmen...well I always blamed it on my daddys side....HEY BUT GOOD THINGS COME in small pkgs......remember that.

I posted this morning and somewhere in cyber land is a good four or five paragraphs GONE....I dont have Ava today as it is my regular day off....so I did a good post.....and HECK if I can remember what I said.

I made some peanut butter fudge.....now the other recipe I had was a lot of ingredients ......pnut butter and some fluff and other stuff........WELL this one is my sisters favorite and it is soooooooo simple.
two cups of sugar
one half cup of water.
bring to a boil and boil for two minutes..
stir in one cup of peanut butter fast cause
it hardens up fast.....and then pour in a
square pan that has been buttered up.
I put it on the back porch and went and
got it and cut it up
DELICIOUS......I love it....and I LOVE EASY..
of course hubby asked me as I was putting it into
baggies.....are you going to leave some for the baggies
I am trying to just have a little piece once in a while....CAUSE I LOVE IT

So glad we are not getting the snow my niece is getting west of us. They have 48 inches of snow so far and more coming.:scared1: The schools have been closed for the last 3 days over there.

We only have a dusting. Once an awhile we get those light flurries but it doesn't amount to anything. It blows away. The wind is really wicked again this year and cold.

I have started baking my cookies. Two done 9 more different ones to go. If hubby has his way it will be 10 more kinds.

Hi,

The semester is coming to an end. So glad, this one was a busy one.

Marita you took your cruise already??? You were just talking about it.....time does fly.

All projects and papers are written and turned in, just a few finals to take. One on Monday and one a week from tuesday. She gave us this coming Tuesday off, so I have to go in the following Tuesday to just take the test. Seems silly to prolong it. I had a really good semester. Looking forward to the next one. Seriously.

I'm expecting an A, A, A-, and A.

I have inlaws in Cancun, friends in Disney World, and my sister just returned from FL. Sigh.

Hope you all are doing well.

Oh, my turn to host the Johsnon Christmas Party on Christmas Day, 50 guests. :scared1:

H all,

Cookies sound yummy, too much im not much (or any) or a baker or sweets eater....

DD is coming home tomorrow, YAY, im so looking forward to having her home safe and sound and at least a little bit warmer. Her Saturday in Berlin sounded miserable, and she has bought 2 pairs of boots over there due to all the snow and slush.

It's COLD here (for Florida), it was even on NBC news last night. It better be warming up soon, I'm running out of warm clothes....

Not much to report here, work has been steady and not too stessful (and not that much of MY stress anymore, heehee).

Nab, that turkey dinner sounded like a lot of work. I am soooo NOT looking forward to my Christmas party. But I guess I have to face it sooner or later. It sure would help if I kept my house up better to begin with, LOL.

DS and DH put up the tree last week, but never checked the lights, so now the upper portion of the tree lights dont work, and I have to dismantle part of it and add some lights and redo it, grrrrr.

3 more work days..............

Hi Mony, we just crossed posts. Congrats on your grades, that is fabulous!! I don't know how you do it will all those kids!

WOW, 50 people??????? And I just whined about my 20, LOL. Good luck!

Ack! I have no reply button on here when I'm on my laptop. Trying to figure out what's wrong.

AACKKKKKKKKKKKKK! My post got eaten!

Moo, sorry about your frustrations, yikes!

DD got home, went straight to bathroom and then bed, out like a Light!

Tried a new lunch yesterday at the food court, pick your own pasta. I got fettucini alfredo with spinach, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, artichoke hearts and shrimp. HUGE portion, should last me 3 days, but I was hungry today and ate 2 portions in one day, LOL. I guess if I can actually make the meal last over 3 days, about $3 a day is a great deal.

2 more work days! Tomorrow is early cause I leave for dentist at 3 and Friday is holiday lunch.

which resort Marita....FQ or Riverside...

Today it is COLD....17 when I got up and to me that is a mite chilly....I know that Marita is cold and will be wanting some blankets to put over her feet when she is at work......

Ava is watching (my half hour of computer time) Dora......she loves Dora....and so do I......she does sleep for almost 2 in the pm so I get some stuff done then too.

Tonight going to a Christmas Spectacular at a local church.......this is a big production and they do it for three weeks prior to Christmas and they do it four nights a week.......so my neighbor and I go.....Free to the public but it is a first come first served ...the auditorium holds 500 people so this is huge....

I wish I could stay away from that Peanut butter fudge I made......I should of gone to the store and bought a payday or something.......but now its in the house and I crave it.......even hubby is sneaking a bite here and there...

Hope you all have a great day and Marita glad that your dd is home safe and sound in her own bed....

Busy , busy , busy....

I have been baking my Christmas cookies.

Tonight we had report card interviews for both kids. They both are doing very well this year. Even Nicholas , he is trying to get on the honour roll. This surprised us but he is really doing the work this year. The teacher said he was a model student. :faint: And Hannah's teacher said she is one of those kids that is not only good at one subject but she is good at all her subjects. He said that is rare, usually kids excel in one subject and need help in others.

It is really cold here...need to finish up my Christmas shopping. Hubby is off tomorrow so we will head out in the cold to finish I hope. I have never been this behind before.

Off to what the Barbra Walters special on Oprah....

Just emailed the last component to complete my on-line class. P-H-E-W!

All that is let are two finals.

Nebo is back from his latest WDW trip, I am back to reading it.

I got out of my disney funk. I hate that. Come back, knowing you won't be going back for a while and I just don't want to look at reminders.

I think bed is calling me.

Pumba, the pasta is at Riverside, I think that was what you were asking.

NAB, baking sounds good, I might have to try some, I am always hungry lately :confused3 I had 2 cups of soup for lunch today.I haven;t even started on shopping, luckily I only have 3 things to get, DH does everything else (and goes way overboard!) What do you get someone who has everything? I'd rather not anything and just buy a sweater myself. BUG HUMBUG!

Mony, yay for school ending for a while, I am so glad I dont have to do that anymore.

Hopefully a shortish day at work tomorrow, cut out around 4. I'm hopeful

MOO, hope your computer is working again :scared1:

morning everyone..

Yes Marita, I meant the pasta make it thingie at Riverside.....thanks for the info. If we go to Port Orleans it is usually the FQ because they accept the TIW card and Riverside doesnt......yup we are frugal....But it sounds like a good visit to the place to sit and enjoy the noise of that wheel that goes pop every once in a while..Our grandkids heard that 15 or so years ago and they were looking to see if they could find out where the noise was coming from.
I do believe that FQ needs to upgrade their food court too. I only usually eat breakfast there and or pizza and the spaghetti dish...the rest is not on my list..

Our granddaughter is done regular classes today and then next week she has finals.. Cant believe that her first pharmacy semester is over with. She has to do a three week internship (and pay for it like a regular class), at a pharmacy..She has to be there the Monday after Christmas. She is excited about that too...

megara found the sunbeam and is laying in it. and my feet are in it too.

have a good everyone.

hey......so we need a new furnace.

Ours may not make it thru 20 below zero in Maine......so we called the boiler man the other day to replace a part and then hubby got to thinking (he has to stop doing that) and decided while talking to our furnace man that it is 21 years old and we had better get a new one....it will make the place more marketable in the spring......to say new furnace, vinyl siding....36 double whatever they are called windows...tilt in and new roof....so yah a new furnace on that will definitely make it more mktable....

hope you are all fine....we are in for some type of weather problem coming up tomorrow into Monday......I thought we were supposed to get raiin and lots of it but we will see.

have a good day everyone
