The Monsoons have stopped but the winds are still with us....Megara did go potty this morning after she figured that the wind was it.....no leakage from the sky...

My hubby is coming home to sleep in his bed tonight.....I am wicked excited......I am not a good alone person ...although the kids have kept me busy and keep phoning me to make sure all is well.....good daughter and son ...My Son in law took me to the store last night to get hubbies meds and some foods to keep me happy...like whipping cream to go on the pie I made yesterday..

I guess today I will keep busy with cleaning up the rest of the place and doing the laundry...I havent gone down cellar since hubby left.....I know I am a big chicken....but with the commercials for all these Halloween movies that are either coming out or they are going to show during Halloween week....GEESH...what is a woos like me to do......I shut my eyes and keep the remote going ...I know big scaredy cat..
have a good day everyone

Had a lovely dinner with Nabbie and family at Zehnder's in Michigan yesterday! The kids have grown so much since I last saw them :)

My other friend Debbie went with me. Before our mini-meet, we visited a farm market and got some apples and caramel frosted donuts. Yum! Good thing I only got a couple and that farm market is a long drive!!!

Then our son and dil and two munchkins came to visit and they had their lunch here....I love to see my kiddos old and young....

HI all

I got home today to Nicole meeting me sobbing at the car.

Mom has passed away today. Fell asleep at the hospital after my brother came to visit her after his vacation. She was 96 1/2, a long life for sure.

So we are going to Germany soon, not sure when yet, probably wednesday or thursday until mid next week. Small funeral, really more of a memorial service.

I'll let you know.

Oh Marita, I am so very sorry about your mom! I will keep your family in my prayers this week. What a wonderfully long life she lived...God bless her soul!

 :sad1:

Marita so sorry for your loss . Prayers for you and your family.
She did have a long life but losing a mom is hard.

Marita - So sorry for your loss, but heaven was just made better by ONE!:littleangel: :grouphug: to you and your family. Hope you have safe travels to Germany and have a wonderful celebration of your mother's life!

So sorry to hear about your mom and that Nicole was so upset, Marita. I'm sure she had been looking forward to seeing her grandma again.

Wishing you safe travels and hoping that you find a good flight. Please keep us posted if you're able to :grouphug:

Nabbie - I trust that you made it back home safely! It was so great to get to see you and your family.

:flower3:, so sorry for your loss , backie,..no body

loves you like your mother. [ i can't believe it's been 20 +
years for me. heck i 've been an orphan longer than not.] however,
it makes me smile, everytime our daughter acts out her grandmother's
genes. you can't imagine how much i wanted my parents to seen
her. but she didn't come along until 10 years after we decided "no more."
she was around 3 when i first noticed her acting like my mother.

got a feeling when you least expect her, she 'll remind you, she still
around.

did everyone read my lecture,....hope you all see this dangers
in this. can you imagine a programmer adding his feelings to kill those
he may not like? scary~huh? :scared1:

way go nabby! :thumbsup2, gosh, i remember forgetting my wife's birthday,
..that she was planning all year,:scared:

moo?! :cool2: decorations. hey, have u been watching the spartans?
..don't look now, but they are sitting in the cart bird seat. [ they knew
what they were doing, hiring the coach-mark d. from osu. noticed ? . osu
is the best team , [still] in the country. except in the running back
department. ha~ where's the spartans' running back from? columbus,
o-h-i-o, :rolleyes1

if they go undefeated, they would deserved a shot @ the national
championship. boise & tcu are good teams...but it nothing compares
liked playing in the big ten or the sec , or the pac 10!

as you all might remember the local family we adopted? [ the one with
5 kids}. wonder had we got involved , was something that happened
@ wdw waking up tinker bell. we didn't even know exactly
what this was about..so i made up this story, & told jordan if
she caught her -she gives a wish to get free again. and i even got
her a lil' aquarium net so she could try. well that got me into trouble
with my wife. we were @ crt, & i notice jordan was tearful &
my wife giving me her "anger eyes." why? she upset over your story
about tinker bell & not catching her. later we ran into the fairygod~
mother inside the castle & she asked jordan why ? she told her,
she wanted to make sure every girl & boy would have a christmas
present. [ we didn't know until then that was her wish..because
she wouldn't tell us]. the fairygod mother was touched by jordan's
wish. she gave filled her net full of pxie dust.[ she still has]. and
she told stories about one lil' girl who saw her a long time ago &
now working as a disney princess. it was so neat hearing how she was
explaining all this to jordan.

so a few years later, when my hunting buddy's sister asked if there
were any way we could help this family of 5 kids, jordan's wish gave us
the motivation. but not in a million years did i think we were the
ones that would be blessed. that first time, 3 years ago..those kids were
so excited and happy...gave us the best christmas ever.

as you may recall, 2009 wasn't my best year, :upsidedow, but what
to do? go to disney world. & when i mentioned the basics to tinker
bell she placed that lil' fishing net on her big toe. now that one's
our classic but unless you knew the story.....:santa:

i know some of our favorite home pictures came after visiting wdw.
none were "posed", they came from the effect our trips had on
jordan's imagination. that's my favorite thing about going to disney.

now you all know we're going down this christmas. doesn't mean
we will be forgetting our adopted family. in reality, we are way
ahead for this year. but my favorite gift isn't a big thing. rather
hearing what the oldest girl told me..last year. they have no pictures
of themselves. that is about to changed. and i also took some extra
pictures of the characters, getting the kids' disney favorites.

why shared this? backie, i don't think no body inspires you more
than your mother. i know it "hurts" but if you think about it, that's
the way it should be. as time passes, i think you will be reminded that
while she gone, she won't be forgotten ..especially in your heart.
sorta like this.... [ everything i do..has my mom's hands in it]

also , don't be fooled, just because i know a lil' about life dynamics, does
mean i am different than any body, else. in reality, my wife says "i",
excels @ being a lil'stinker. and you can easily see, some of my best
"works", come from listening to children..this time from my daughter.
maybe there's a lesson in there, somewhere under the rainbow?

need poof? just ask those neighbors out in the country & why they're
already selling ,. ..i need balance!..where wheat thins these
days? misbehavin' i am sure

morning my friends.

marita I am so sorry about your loss......It is almost three years now since my mama passed away.....MIL and MOM within six months of each other and both reached their 90's....Your mama and my mama's all lived a great life....we have good genes Marita...
I think that you should get some of that pixie dust and at your mama's service..sprinkle it around and your mama will always be with all of us Disney style..

Have a good day everyone

Marita-I'm so very sorry. Peace and prayers to you and your family.

Moo and Nab: I enjoyed the pics from your meet and greet. Glad you guys had a great time.

Everyone: Have a blessed day.

Moo-- we got home about 8:30 last night. Border crossing was fast coming back. Spent a lot of time at the Christmas store on Monday. Then went to Sonic for lunch it was a first for us. Kids love the roller skating car hop and Hannah got Halloween cat glasses. Not sure I like the food but it was fun for them.

All I can say is MI is big on Halloween. We can not buy Halloween shirts here only at Old Navy and for the kids only. They have two huge Halloween stores that we didn't make it to. Who know three days of shopping wasn't enough...:lmao:

The lady at the Christmas shop asked Hannah if she was playing hooky yesterday too, the kids thought it was great that they were the only kids around the hotel for breakfast too.

Nabbie - Sounds like you had fun shopping! We didn't make it to Bronner's, but I didn't mind because I've spent too much $$ on clothes and stuff (like wine weekend before last) lately anyway  So I had plenty of wine to share. Hope you and your hubby enjoy it.

One of these days, I think it will be my turn to travel up your way!!!

bbn - Glad you enjoyed the pics! We sure enjoyed getting to see each other :) Hope to meet some of our other regulars some day.

Hope Twink is having fun at WDW (how could she not) ;)

Lil G - My coworkers and a few of my family members are ecstatic that MSU is having such a good season :goodvibes

Marita - Hope you're hanging in there  Any luck making travel arrangements? Lil G's right . . . nobody loves you like your mother.

Pumba - I still miss my mom lots too.

morning everyone..

What is the name of the cherry wine. I used to get (40ish years) this wine called Cherry Kiarfa or something that sounds like that but probably spelled differently... ( I almost did spelt)

Ava is here today and she is watching (thank goodness) DORA.......this gives me a few to do this and look on line for stuff... I got two Vera Bradley bags for 10 for one and 15 for the other......I love these and my daughter does too...SO maybe for a gift for Christmas and maybe not.....not sure yet......hahaha.

it was COLD again this morning......like 34..yesterday was a mite chlly too.

Hope you all have a great day today and hugs to Marita again:grouphug:

Boys and girls are so different on picture day...Hannah must have changed three times this morning only to go back to the outfit she chose last night. Nicholas he gets up has a shower and thows on t-shirt and jeans done.

Then my worries are that it pizza day and if they don't have pictures before lunch, lunch may end up on them.

Pumba-- the cherry wine Moo gave us is made in Michigan. Can't wait to try it. I am not a big wine drinker but she says it is sweet , that I do like.

Marita-- Like the others I hope your doing ok and hanging in there.

Mind you Nicholas came home and said he was one of 8 chosen to mentor kids in grade one to 3. That they have been watching all the grade 8's and they think he would be great at doing this. Maybe this will be a good year after all and he is settling down.

I hope this year is good for Nicholas!

Hi all. I just popped in to give my condolences to Marita.

And to say hi to everyone else! :yay:

Between work :surfweb:, school :teacher:, and church , I don't have much time.
I miss you guys!

Nab....there is a wine I got in Disney in Epcot. (Japan) It is a ladies wine ...or so they called....it is called F U K I plum wine, I had to do the space other wise the filter thinks I am trying to say a dirty word. This is a really sweet and YUMMY wine.....

hey Celery........miss you

I hope this year is good for Nicholas!

So far so good with him. Still has his homework moments and girl troubles. But he keeps telling me he is doing better this year. Time will tell I guess.

He has joined a youth group at the church and there first meeting is on Thursday night. Hoping this will put him in the right direction with the girl problems too. I told hubby he doesn't want a girlfriend, he wants someone to make out with. :sad2: Everyone tells me this a 13 year old boy thing. Well I am not and never will be a boy so I don't understand it. :lmao:

We miss your around here, how is your mom doing?

Pumba-- you swear.....:rotfl2:

The circle of life continues.... Knitfreak's baby has arrived, little Jacob.

Update on plans. Mom is going to be cremated and there will be a small memorial service on November 3rd, so we are leaving here on November 1st for a week. I'l be going back to work in the meantime, but I am taking a vacation day Friday.
