The Bubba Solution. I like it. Of course, the powers that be would NEVER go for it in a million years. I am LMAO. We have "scientists" (no offense twinkee) "oceanologists" and who knows what other kind of "ist" working round the clock on this problem. A guy in coveralls comes up with the perfect solution to remove the owle. Ha.

Instead of "In God We Trust" the motto should be "You Can't Fix Stupid" ;)

That there is a genius idea for oil removal. :lmao:

Scientists, both with and without the extra punctuation, can wear coveralls too.

As long as you are not giving them juice boxes, then you are fine. :goodvibes

Juice boxes are for game day. Practice only rates bottled water. The sun is out. And tomorrow is field day, which as we all know is worse than vacation bible school.

ETA: the principal keeps sending notes home to tell the parents that the kids MUST wear sneakers to field day, but not nice ones as they will get ruined between the soggy field conditions and the planned water games..... my kids only have one set of tennis shoes apiece

Twinkie-- glad to see you posting , my sister said you had pretty bad weather last night. She had a hard time getting home today. Flights were cancelled or delayed.

Let the bad weather get out of it's system. Hope it is beautiful on the weekend. We have rain right now and wind.

Hi B nice to see you around these parts again.

Maybe it's the B reappearance, but tonight I have to say: I hate DVC!

Spent all day on chasing down DVC labor issuess, yuck!

On the positive side, I have tomorrow off, YAY!! I need it too, been a crazy work week the last few days. As is, I will need at least an hour on my vacation day to catch up.

Moo, never heard of kettleball before.

Nothing interesting to report here.

Got the DVC budget schedule tonight, smack dab in the middle of my son's visit!

I HATE DVC!:upsidedow

Marita - Bummer on messing up your son's visit.

Kettlebell is still relatively new around here, but a woman on a weight loss surgery discussion forum that I am on (who had the same type surgery that I had) raved about it all the time and she was able to really shape up by doing it. So once I started seeing it on the Biggest Loser I did a little research and found some free kettlebell workouts on-line. I bought a 15 lb kettlebell and tried it a few times. I really liked it because it gets your heart rate up fast and because it combines weights and cardio it burns a lot of calories. That's why I looked into taking a class. It's kind of an expensive class, but I think it'll be worth it. They told my I can use the gym before and after class, but I was pretty tired afterward.

Cel - You ought to look into this to see if they have it in your area. It's a great workout for arms :cool1:

Moo. that workout sounds great.

i thnk cel left us for greener pastures? :confused3

I sent out a survey at 12:45 am to other DVC resorts, I think I am baked, roasted, fried, and every othe kind of DONE for tonight.

Thank God I have tomorow off!

I better sleep well tonight or I am going to reallly be ticked off!

I am headed back to work again this morning. So thankful people keep "doing it" here in the greater LooUhVull area. Gotta love the job security.

Rodeo starts up again tomorrow. YeeHaw cowboys and cowgirls!

Have a lovely weekend Moooovers.

Moo - That looks dangerous. lol. I can see myself dropping that thing right on my head. lol Good luck!

BabyN - Glad you have work. I think that your area of nursing is the most job secure. lol. Plus you don't have to hope people get sick so you have work. ;o)

We thought this was Chad's last week of school, but it's not. Waaaaa. It's next week, which is also a 2 day week. Ugh. His teacher is suck a moron. (He is the one who said this was the last week.) For Chad went last night, but left a few minutes later because the teacher brought out Booty Call to watch. They are done with all of their tests(because he would sometimes give them multiple tests in a night without going over anything and just pass everyone. Idiot) so they just have to make up their hours. So thankful we didn't have to pay this year.

My sister is coming over today with Little John. Her DH is coming tonight, we're watching The Decent part 2.

I made my first peasant dress yesterday with coordinating pinafore top dress and bloomers. It was a beast to to the elastic in the neck line, but now that it's all scrunched up you can't see how crappy it is. lol.

The pinafore is made with fabric that I already made a dress out of, but I bought too much. lol. So I made it to go with the peasant dress, which I also bought way too much of. :headache:

Here you can see the pinafore without the dress under it. Nice and cool for summer. But it shows off her tramp stamp. :upsidedow (She has two strawberry hemangioma, one behind her ear and one on her lower back)

MP: Mal had a hemangioma on her belly at birth. She's 5 and it is almost gone. Slowly they go away. Very cute dress.

I have been placed at a school for the severly cognitive impaired, which starts tuesday for observation and assessment. I think I'll need prayers for strength. Just for the first few days until the newness wears off.

I met with my instructor, gave him all my papers from the final and midterm. He looked to see that I did each one, then changed my grade. Without reading any of them!

I told him I would have been happier if he read them. He said instead lets discuss them, which we did, but still. At least I got my A-.

Have a great weekend!

Mony, yay for changed grade and Maddie in panties:yay:

I hear you on the professor not reading your papers. all that work and he doesn't even read it!

Good luck at that school, sounds very challenging!

Well, here I am on my vacation day and I have been working since 10 on firedrills! and till 11 last night. I think I am going to go out for a little retail therapy. I don;t usually like shopping, but I think I will go to Walmart and see if I get a new purse and maybe a top or 2 that don't look Walmartish, LOL (good luck to me)

My new assistant had a meet & greet with a manager this morning at 10, which means she had to leave at about 9:30, and then a lunch invite came out, she is STILL not back at work!! I can tell because of communicator. "Kristi has been away for 4 hours" :rolleyes1. She is supposed to be very good, but between interview yesterday and this today and doing stuff for her old hotel, she hasn't been a lick of help so far. She'll come back to about 15 emails, LOL.

Lunch with knitfreak and asst. #2 scheduled for Tuesday, hope it works out.

MP, that dress with the pinafore is adorable!

Off for some retail therapy now

Update:

Came home from Walmart to an email from director asking for an income statement by meal period for a certain restaurant. I emailed back to ask if Monday is ok, since I am off today, and got back "Fine". Can't tell if that was a good "fine" or a ticked off
"fine".... Luckily I have an old file set up already that does a lot of the calculations to spread expenses by meal period, but still going to take at least a couple of hours.

Talked to new assistant (i need a name for her), and turns out she was talking to the boss about the interview, so I guess she is excused.

Got a cable knit sweater for $5 and a collared golf-type shirt for $6 on clearance at Walmart, and a new purse for $12, then picked up some taco supremes for dinner. I am whipped!!!!!!!! This is not what vacation days are supposed to be like.

I think I'll heat up the tacos and maybe take a nap shortly.

Nice vacation day. I ended up working about 10 hours!
Trying to get to bed soon, but I have Jerry Springer on, it's like you can't look away, LOL

Curissma is a name?

Just sent an email to the boss asking for revocation of the vacation day yesterday, since I ended up tons of hours. We shall see how that goes...

Well I am all ready for my company to come. My sister, her family and my mom are coming later tonight. The rest will come tomorrow for mass.

Nicholas is pretty excited as is Hannah since this is going to be a birthday party for her too. Nicholas got a chocolate fudge cake with a white cross and writing for Nicholas Confirmation. Hannah got a white cake with the Jonas brothers on it with pink writing and trim.

I am so tired now. But my house looks beautiful.....Maybe we should spend the night at a hotel so my company tomorrow will see it as good as my company tonight. Since I will have to make up beds on the couches etc. Grandma will sleep in Nicholas bed. So he will be on one of the couches as will the two other kids coming tonight. Beds for all the adults...

Nab, w00t on the house looking great. Best wishes for tomorrow, I know it will be great day.

I managed to vacuum today. YAY! Maybe clean the kitchen floor at 1 am again, LOL. and turn on the oven cleaner. Maybe make a cheesecake later tonight and plans call for chicken livers for dinner tomorrow.

Asst.#2 accepted the lunch invite for Tuesday, so I hope that works out. We had a brief chat via email. She interviewed for the promotion as well as my new assistant. We have 2 openings, but speculation is that the director will fill one from outside Resorts. There were about 8 or 9 candidates from Resorts that applied, so competion is fearce. Knitfreak got a promotion with her new job last year.

Went to take a nap on the couch and slept for maybe all of 20 minutes. But I think no more work for today, whew. It's been crazy! Hope nothing comes up for Tuesday lunch. :scared:
