Santa Monica Pier....

Dads2010VacationPictures2115.jpg

Hannah played in the surf and dug holes in the sand, it was a nice beach but a wide beach took a long time to get to the water front from the parking lot. Wish we had more time there , we were on a bus tour.
Dads2010VacationPictures1026.jpg

This pier is in the Hannah Montana movie and some other Disney music videos so Hannah thinks that is pretty cool she walked on that pier too. Or she will say look mom we were there.

Nicholas head was turning every which way....he wanted to stay longer too but not for the sand and surf.

We were on route 66 on this trip a lot. It would go to the old route 66 then the new highway and back again. It was kind of cool.

This is Venice Beach. The one you see in movie with people roller skating etc. It is one strange beach. Lots of characters out there. There was a guy singing Jingle Bells with the words buy me a drink so I can stay drunk.

Every other store you passed if you inhaled you would be high as a kite. The bus driver warned us about that and showed us the coupons for medical purpose hash that is everywhere there. They did have a lot of open market kind store but the other part was really weird. That being said we felt safe there. The shops were cheap too for the same stuff that was on Hollywood Blvd.

Love the pics, Nab!

Things here are crazy busy yet again! :scared1: I'm honestly ready to get out of this job!

Marita-- wish I could help you .....maybe you need to change jobs, become a character, or a greeter so that you can just go in do your job and go home. Can you dance.....

I wish I could get back on schedule. We all slept to almost noon today but we are staying up all night because we can't sleep.

Nicholas won his ball game tonight they play in the championship game now on Saturday. So they will be first or second place in their division. Nicholas hit a grand slam tonight too he was so happy. Bases were loaded too and he got home. :cool1:

We never did see it with out fog....it was cold there to close to the water. They said that is normal.

We walked and drove on the bridge....when you walk on to it , it really vibrates. They say that it has to so it can sway because they have a lot of wind there.
Dads2010VacationPictures1153.jpg

This is the Mrs Doubtfire House in the movie. Robin Williams live here and does a lot of movies here.
Hannahs2010VacationPictures1549.jpg

I can't find any pictures of the beautiful Victorian house , they have both modern and Victorian ones in clusters. Just beautiful, all different colours too.
Hannahs2010VacationPictures1506.jpg

Darn I had more pics and I got logged out ...then it double posted.

Guess that means I need to go to bed and will try again tomorrow.

Nabbie - Congrats to Nicholas on his Grand Slam!!!

Love the new pics you posted!!! Especially the beach ones -- that's a great one of you :) And Hannah's bear is really cute :thumbsup2

Howdy.

Tomorrow they say we will get a good soaking..we really need it but heck I can sit and stay in...

Today we took a few walks and tried hard to get my pulse up....I pushed the stroller up hills and over bumps.....it wasnt bad....

Have had enough of the tomatoes that are gracing my table.....the tomatoes grew really well but the cukes are few and far between.......enough but NOT enough to make alot of pickles.....he did make 5 quarts of garlic/dill pickles........last year he made mustard pickles..

Next Monday the kids here will go back to school......I think that Jacob needs to go back as he is getting bored and getting in trouble by picking on Ava....bad bad Jacob..He did get into the pool but didnt dunk.....to cold he said.....the nights are getting into the 50's ....so that is chilly and takes the pool longer to warm up in the day time..

I love the photos you took on your trip........they are just awesome....even looking at the fog on the bridge.....that is wonderful..
That big hill on the street......makes it look like that one in MGM studios.....you fake one of course......but it looks like it...

have a good night everyone

This is Alacatraz , hubby really wanted to see this but it was sold out for the week we were there. You have to take a ferry over and have to have tickets so you can't go over on your own.

This is my favourite with Nicholas. I kept telling him not to hang off so far. Thought cars beside him would knock him off.....
Nicholas2010VacationPictures1244.jpg

Like I said before this was my favourite of the trip. Loved the Victorian houses in different colours but hubby didn't getr any of those in pictures.

It was also the scariest for me because hubby didn't listen to me to turn off on the right after the Golden Gate bridge. So the GPS told him to go up the next street. Well the GPS didn't know were towing a 26ft trailer. It went straight up , and I mean it was a huge hill. That had a 4 way stop in the middle. I just covered my eyes. I thought we would end up back at the pier. Then we had another stop and it said not to go up the next hill because it had a hidden crest. Well I convinced him not too....we went to the next street and looked back and saw it was like a peak at the top before it dropped. Think the Grinch on the hill.....:scared1: After we got back on a flat street I hit him with an atlas...he told me I should have filmed it. :sad2:

I bet people never saw a trailer on there street before. We got looks.

Did love the trolley ride down the hill to the pier. See this in the movies all the time. Hubby was hanging off the front video taping it the whole way.

This is the Jelly Belly Factory just outside San Fransisco. I wish I could have got a picture on the tour where Nicholas volunteered to taste one with another boy. Nicholas had barf the other kids had snot. There faces were priceless. It was also mascot day there. We saw Hello Kitty, Build a Bear, Chuck E Cheese, Mr Pickle, and two different cows and baseball ones. There more I can't remember. Oh Yeah a blue duck.

They said it takes 20 days to make on flavour of jelly beans. They have to sit and dry that long. And have 150 flavours.

Only place it was cold enough to have a fire....it got to 52 at night and morning. They said it is usually cool in the morning and foggy but this was record breaking cool temps. We ran the furnace in the mornings.

These are the big Red Woods. These trees are huge, again the picture can't possibly show how tall and big they are. Plus our campsite for the week. One of our favourite ones this trip since a lot of them were just cement and not many trees. Another strange thing was that there are no bugs in California, not misquitoes at least or biting ones.

There is like a mini boarder crossing going into California State , where they ask if you have fruit , vegetables and fire wood. It was strange.

MP- Happy Giving Birth day! (I think I am late but hey I could say that to you randomly and be right plenty of times!)

Aww. Thanks for remembering. What a bittersweet day it was. Ellie has brought such great job to my life and that was the most amazing day of my life. But she can't be a year old already! :sad1: I am so sad she is growing so fast and will never be a baby again.

I know I am a horrible Imaginary Disney friend these days. I never post, I haven't even been following. :guilty: I do have 6 pretty good excuses. I'm schooling 4 of them now and trying to do lots of reading, counter and letters with Isaac. Sometimes I'm still doing school with them at 3:30. It's just so hard to fit in school, housework and internet social time.

Chad and I are supposed to be leaving for our trip to Disney(staying at the Poly) in 9 days. As of now four of the 6 are coughing and running fevers. Last week Isaac had hand, foot and mouth, which has rolled over into snot and coughing with a continued low grade. I had Ellie and Kaleb at the doc. today for their coughs and fevers. Kaleb gets taken to the Doc for any sign of cough and fever after his pneumonia last year. And Ellie's cough just sounds like death. But their lungs checked out clear. So, who knows if we are going to be able to take our trip. :headache:

The same thing happened last year before we went away. The week we were supposed to leave is when Kaleb got sick. :scared1:

Well Chad's at school tonight and Isaac needs to be put to bed.

Love the pics Nab!

If i'd have to camp, a camper is the only way to go!

MommyP, missed you around here, but I hear you on being busy. It's been really slow here lately. Hope you get to go on your trip!

Last day of budgets round 2 for me tomorrow, at least the worst part. Some more things hanging out there, but hopefully it should slow down some.

morning everyone..
The photos are awesome and those trees...unbelievable....

Today it is yucky out and it is supposed to rain like a rainstorm......hahaha......to early and not enough coffee to think up that one.

Marita.......Hope you have an easy day with all that you have to do.......

Stress stress stress.........have a lot of things to think about.......all about that place in Florida.......hope I can think and hubby too......we are thinkers right now..

Have a good day myf riends

Nab - What a fun trip. Chad and I would love to drive across the country. But I'm not doing it until the kids are either mostly grown or gone. ;o) My very best friend lives in northern Ca. so it would be the perfect end stop. I'm thinking rent a car to get there and fly home. It would be the perfect "pat ourselves on the back" trip to take once Ellie has graduated high school. ;)

Marita - Did you ever take a chance to see the Summer Nightastic fireworks over the summer? I am so super jealous of everyone who got to see them. Us lowly Florida seasonal passholders didn't get to. :sad2:

So far this morning no one seems to be running a fever. I haven't checked Ellie though. She is playing nicely and I don't want to ruin a good thing. Her coughing sounds better today. :cool1:

I'm down to a single digit size! :cool1: I cannot remember when I last wore a 9. I am SO excited and I feel so amazing! :cloud9:

Looks to be another rainy day here. Number 4. I'm dying to get out in the sun. Trying to beef up my tan before Chad and I go away. I got a new phone(htc hero) and I can transfer the DIS podcast onto it. So I lay out and listen to old podcasts to pass the time. I can't read outside because it's too bright.

Well gotta go and get the boys started with chores and then school.

Wow Mommy P you have your hands full. Hope the kiddies get better so you can go away and not worry. You need a break.

:woohoo: On you weight loss. I really should get my butt in gear. I am creeping up and know it.

Pumba-- Hope you don't get to stressed out thinking about your Florida property.

Hubby worked to overtime shifts and now tells me he is working a third tonight , maybe even a fourth on Thursday. Guess I spent to much while away, he spoiled the kids too

:banana: We got to see the Summer Nightastic Fireworks a couple of times while we were at WDW in July! Loved 'em! One of the times, we had Peej with us. I only wish that my camera took better nighttime pics!

Yay on your weight loss, MommyP! Glad you're feeling so good!

We're on day 4 of rain here too. It's also chilly....the daytime high temps have only been in the mid-60s! I actually had to drag out jeans to wear to work 2 days this week. Luckily, it's supposed to be sunny and hot for the next several days.

Boris and Natasha start school on Tuesday. :sad1: We did some more back-to-school shopping this evening. I am so dreading the school year!

MoomyP, never did get to see Nightastic, does that surprise anyone? I have yet to see Wishes, LOL! Congrats on the weightloss.

Pumba, no such luck for a stress free day
