Morning all, it is officially the first day of summer today. According to the calendar.

Had a great day yesterday with the family.

Nicholas did get in the dunk tank with tons of girls waiting to dunk him, then later in the afternoon seen him running around with girls chasing him. It was a site to see. Hannah decided she wanted to get dunked too so we had the pleasure of dunking her too. With Nicholas I missed so I just went up and hit the button anyway and got myself wet but it was worth it. :lmao:

Mony-- did you see Toy Story 3 ....was it good? We rented Lovely Bones over the weekend and hated it. We haven't rented a movie in a long time and it is getting really expensive.

Well off to do errands this morning. The sun is shining here. Love it.

Nab: I read that book when i went to Cancun in Dec. I read it on the plane and finished it the next day. I cried the first 100 pages. I am looking forward to seeing the movie. Having met Mark Wahlberg, I have a special liking of him. It wasn't a meeting in passing. We spent like an hour talking.

We saw Toy Story 3 yesterday. It was so good, but bittersweet. I bawled at the end for like 10 minutes.

I can't get Tim on board with me with the yes program, so I am just gonna take it as a learning experience and remember it the next time we talk disney.

2 day base tickets for a family of 6 is almost 900.00. I think I see a mommy and daughters trip in my near future........

Nab - Haven't seen that movie, we recently saw Shutter Island, which is really good and Leigon, which is the absolute worst and most stupid movie I've ever seen. Do you have Red Box movies in Canada? We never rent movies anymore. We get them from the Red Box for $1.00 or Blockbuster has a similar system in Publix Supermarkets for the same price. You usually have to wait a week or so before a movie is available, but it's worth it for a dollar. lol.

Toy Story 3 - We are hoping to take the kids to see it this Saturday. A local AMC theater has $5.00 matanees for all movies before noon. But I don't know if Chad will be off or not.

He is working in Venice this week. It's about an hour and a half away. He has to leave at 5am and won't be leaving work until 5pm. But at least we'll have 8-10 hours overtime this week. He'll probably have to be working there for a month to help finish that job. Then he'll be back in the area.

We had a side job date on Saturday. That was fun. lol. Most people spend money on dates, we made $260. ;)

It seems Ellie's snotty nose is finally getting better. I am thankful that she and Isaac never got the fever/headache and stomach ache that everyone else seemed to get.

HEY WHERE IS MY MORNING POST>...........It was there when I typed it out .......someone took it .....I know it ..I just know it.

Well anyways...the weather was humid this morning then turned into a perfectly beautiful gorgeous fantastic day.....I love this type of weather....

Ava and I had a great day..but she was tired from her weekend at the ocean....She asked for a night night at eleven.....so I fed her and she climbed on my lap and put her head down and she was out.....poor baby.......

Just sitting here and thinking I have to go to the pharmacy and get my eye drops...I dont think I have enough in there to do them tonight.....having glaucoma is eye drops the rest of my life.....but the alternative is not worth it.....I do my eye drops faithfully..

have a good night and whoever took my morning post.......HMMMMM hahaha

Mommy P-- I think there is a mail order movie thing but never really looked into it. I think we paid $22.00 for three blue ray movies, $6.99 each. Cheaper then going to a show but still pretty expensive if you get a crappy one.

Mony-- just saw our games are gone. Wonder what happened. I know fb is having trouble today with family fued.

Pumba-- I just wanted to be first this morning so I ate your post.....:laughing:This happens to me sometimes too. I know when you talk about your sugar blood work you talk in the hunderds. I got my sugar numbers back today and he said mine was a little up at 6.8 and it should be 6.2 or something like that. With my PCOS I have to watch it , plus I have an adrenial gland that doesn't work properly.

Well I am off to the splash pad with Hannah, the guys went to the electronic store....boring for us girls.

Heya everyone! Another BEAUTIFUL day here! My Brownie troop had our end-of-the-year mini-golf/ice cream outing today. Lots of fun!

1. I read that book when i went to Cancun in Dec. I read it on the plane and finished it the next day. I cried the first 100 pages. I am looking forward to seeing the movie. Having met Mark Wahlberg, I have a special liking of him. It wasn't a meeting in passing. We spent like an hour talking.

1. Oh gosh! I read that book when it first came out, and cried SO MUCH! I don't think I could sit through the movie.

I like Mark Wahlberg too! In addition to being a pretty darn good actor, he's a great guy! I know him from when he was Marky-Mark (snicker!). When he was just starting out, I met him through some mutul friends, and we ran in the same circles for a while. Such a sweetie!

2. We're dying to see Toy Story 3!!! I'll be sure to bring LOTS of tissues! :thumbsup2

3. I got our tickets today! I think I am as excited as Boris and Natasha to take the class! :goodvibes

Back to work tomorrow after a glorious 3-day weekend. Oh well, all good things must come to an end.........;)

Nab, I sent you the numbers that are regular morning glucose readings and then the other one that is used to calculate where you should be .. They said that a diabetic should be under 7. A non diabetic should have a test that is under six.... Mine was 6.6 for my A1C. that is what they calculate where your sugars have been for the last three months. I was a 6.0 three months ago so having it jump was not my idea. I was a little disappointed...

So you ate my post this morning huh???? We may have to do something about that......I could make your sugar go up cause I am full...

Hope you all have a great night..

Back to work tomorrow after a glorious 3-day weekend. Oh well, all good things must come to an end.........;)

1. My GF told me to read it but I was pregnant but she warned I should wait til after I had the baby and the hormones went away, now I know why. She told me to read it when it was part of Oprah's reading book club, something like that.

I met him when NKOTB came to the radio station. He sat with me and another intern and talked about his up and coming project. He wasn't even Marky Mark yet. He was so little then. Very nice guy, ah kid.

2. I don't know if 3-D made it any better, but 2-D was just fine.

3. I'm excited to hear about the class.

My games are gone and I feel empty inside. Sniff........

Hi gang. WDW was fab. How could it not be???

I will try to put up a few pics in the near future.

I do want to know how come so many people in this thread have met Mark(y Mark) Wahlberg???? What's up with that??

We saw Toy Story 3. My little guys go to a summer enrichment program at the school and they had a field trip to watch it last Friday. We saw it in 3D for $6. But I think it's because we were a school that we got such a big discount. It was sooooooo good. The 3D was pretty good, but I'm sure seeing it in 2D is fine. It's not like there were a lot of 3D special effects (like in Muppets at Hollywood Studios)

Marita.......you have to start taking care of yourself....You are exhuasted....take it easy...

Today the sun is out but it is going to be down in the temps...I will take the 70's, That makes it more pleasant..

Something is not right, I got on that wii fit plus and it said I gained a pound and a half and then said I was overweight.....well I knew that but it doesnt have to tell you........geesh.
So I did some steps with the instructor and then I did my own for ten minutes......My hips hurt, so I dont know if it was the hula hoops the day before or the stepping up and down and up and down.....I am old ...what can I do.....reverse the aging process.....NAAAA..

have a good day my friends

I just finished listening to the lovely bones.
My dad has been telling me about it for years. He read a bunch of the Oprah books - and got me to read several, but they're all depressing!
I knew I'd want to read the lovely bones, but most of my "reading" is done by listening now on the drive to and from work.
I was on the wait list for it through my library (I love downloadable books!) for close to 6 months - just finished it two weeks ago.
Now I can rent the movie.

I do not know Marky Mark. Somehow this makes me sad!

I need to start making stuff for the wish kid - but I've been so tired lately! Going to a water park yesterday with camden didn't help.

I also need to get in the shower. I got up at 5:45 and had some time to kill since I'm working off site today and they don't open super early - now it's almost 7 and I haven't started getting ready!
oops!

I'm also doing a study on prayer with my small group at church. It's interesting. I'm trying to be more obedient with my tithes.
Totally a personal question, so don't feel obligated to answer.
for those of you that tithe - do you do it before taxes or after?
:confused3
My goal has always been 10% of after tax money to the church plus some to extra charities -
but then I started thinking why am I giving uncle sam more than God?

I'm going to start the financial peace university tomorrow at church - as long as they're not charging (I don't think they are, you just need the books and some of my small group said I could borrow theirs).
I've read financial peace, but it's been almost 15 years ago!

Ok. no more stalling.
off to the shower!

Pumba - your wii fit lies! You are not overweight! Kick its butt!

It has been pouring all day, really heavy at times. Of course I had to go out in it.

Celery-- can't really answer you question because I don't know. Hubby gets it taken off directly from his pay All the donations are done that way. All except the ones though the school.

Pumba-- I am with Celery the wii lies. I don't look at all like my wii person...:lmao:

Babynurse-- do you know what happened to our games? I am like Mony I miss them. There was never any doubt you had fun with P.J. Would love to see pictures.

Didn't Allie say she was going to tell her good news on Tuesday?

I'm patient I can wait.....Just remembered you said today is all.

Watching America's Got Talent, some really weird stuff tonight.

Ok, so here it is.......................................

I got a new job!!!!!!! I am going to be a Special Ed. Aide at an elementary school in my city, not the Elem. that the kids went to, but the new BEEUTIFUL state of the art school that opened this year. I am sooooooo excited. I've known for a week and a half, but couldn't tell until it was approved by the board tonight. (hence the deadline ;) ) Still don't say anything "over there" because my coworkers don't know yet, and won't until Thursday. My boss is sad, but understands that this was a move I couldn't turn down. I have a kid going to college in a year, and my daughter is starting middle school, so the timing was perfect. I just had to share with my friends here though. :grouphug: Thanks for waiting. popcorn:: I firmly believe that the Lord had this in his plans. :goodvibes

Oh, and on another note, we have a new family member! :cheer2: Her name is Cocoa and she is a 4 month old female chihuahua. Luckily, she HASN'T locked me out of my car.........yet. :rotfl2::lmao: She weighs 3 lbs, and shouldn't get more than 6. Shadow and Trixie are still sizing her up. :rolleyes1 We are excited to have this new addition to our family. Just wish she could figure out that she needs to poop outside. :upsidedow I'm sure she thinks that I'm a crazy human that scoops her up and runs outside with her every time she poops. Oh well, I know she will get it eventually. She is doing really well at night in her crate. :cloud9: I'm just not sleeping well because I'm in "alert" mode all night just anticipating her waking up.:sad2:

Thanks for being patient with me, and I'm glad to share my good news with all my closest internet friends.

Allie I am so happy for you. :woohoo: And to work at a brand new school too. Congrats on the new puppy too. Life sound grand in your neck of the woods.

I didn't have to wait very long. Thought it would be another week.

Still up because I am doing the wash. We have a smart meter now so you pay more for electricity in peak hours. So off peak hours is 9:00pm- 7:00 am . It is 4 cents/kwhr , if I did it after that time it is 8 cent up until 11:00 am. Then from 11-5 pm is peak summer hours and it would cost 9 cents. Crazy I know.

Allie - That's fantastic news about your job! Congratulations!!! And having a new fur baby is always fun too :)

bbn - Glad you're back and that you had a fabulous trip (not that we had any doubts)! Looking forward to seeing a few pics. I haven't met Marky Mark, but I did take my DD to a NKOTB concert when she was a teenybopper and nearly lost my hearing from all the screaming :scared1:

Nabbie - I was out of town for work last night and didn't get home until after 10:30 tonight. I had my laptop with me at the hotel but didn't get on-line until really late, so I didn't post. This afternoon/evening, I got to go on a several hour pontoon boat ride down the river that I am working on a corrective action project on - I've done lots of river tours by driving around the area over the past several years, but this was my first trip seeing it from a boat. We saw several bald eagles. It was awesome!

Pumba - That's exactly why I didn't get the balance board for my Wii!!!!!!!!!

Marita - I have to agree with the comments above. Don't run yourself ragged!!! Hope you get to enjoy having your son home for a while before he heads out west again.

Allie, congrats. great news! Congrats on the new puppy too, they are so cute. but better you than me, LOL, I am past getting new dogs.

Nothing new here, still working like mad. I signed up for (arm slightly twisted) the hurricane ride-out crew, working in the Command Post, doing whatever is needed. The forecast is for a very active season, but let's hope they won't show up here! I lost a fence, 3 trees and parts of the roof the last time, let alone power for several days. At least I will be in a concrete bunker being fed and with power (and maybe a room or a blanket to sleep on the floor in the office). I guess it's better than being home alone, as hubby always has hurricane duty. The dog and cat will have to watch the house. LOL.

Guests are nuts, they insist on wandering out in the storm and want to be in the main parts of the resorts instead of their rooms where they are supposed to be!

BBN, glad youi had a great time. Tell PJ to show up over here once in a while. I feel abandoned!

Congratulations Allie, I think that is wonderful news. You seem so happy about it. I look forward to all of your stories.

This has been the longest day of my college career! Went to school from 830am-800pm. And I've been reading since 930pm.

I have a final on Thursday and a WebQuest to turn in. I should finish that in the lab thursday afternoon.

Then I can focus on the Brain and Behavior class. I've never worked so hard for a C in my life!
