Oh I forgot to mention earlie re: son's long process for the AF. He had to do a security clearance interview too, where he was extensively questions about the likelyhood of me trying to get military secrets out of him to share with the German government.

Well, the sage of my son joining the Airforce has come to a conclusion.

I wanted this so much for him, because he really wanted it, but when I heard the news, I of course was very happy for him, but the tears came because MY BABY IS LEAVING!

So I am both very happy for him and very sad for me .
Actually I am happy for me too, because I think I would feel far more sad if he had gotten rejected because he wanted this so much. If that makes any sense.

LOL, it was very windy. Front of the ship the night of going back to Port Canaveral. He was wearing a tie, which you can barely see. it was blown behindg him.

I sure hope he gets the planes where they need to be and hopefully not get shot down. At least the AF seems somewhat safer than other branches. And he wants to fly the big cargo planes, the bigger, the better.

After training, I am sure he will be sent to an airforce base somewhere, don't know yet.

Makes sense to me. I don't know if his long-term plans are a military career or a civilian one but his skills on the big cargo planes (or big bombers) should translate over to FedEx or UPS cargo planes or jumbo passenger jets quite nicely if he wants to take that route.
