I don't know about that. Seattle is one of my favorite places (only because of it's quirky history) and I found the people there to be amazingly fabulous. Fabulously amazing even. A perfect blend of cultures. I also really, really like San Fransico and San Diego...and Salt Lake. An "S" theme?

Smart move on the other thing. ;)
I really, really like San Diego also. I've never been to any of those other "S" cities you mentioned but I've travelled some and San Diego is the only city I've ever been to that I thought I would enjoy living in as much as KC.

I'm sure Joe made the correct choice in dodging that question as well. That can really only be addressed by a husband or significant other and then only in a complimentary manner, whether such an answer be truthful or not.

I LOVE that show! Tell her congrats! :thumbsup2

Oh, and Sandy just called me and she is in Chicago for an 8K she is running with her FDIL. She is doing fine, but she did cut her finger pretty bad last Tuesday. Enough that she saw the bone. :scared1: She didn't want to waste the money on the ER, so she was a good Girl Scout, and made a nice tourniquet. ;) She needed the money to go to Chicago this week. She says it is doing better. She also says HI! :wave2: I am home with a sick little girl. She puked about 12 minutes after school started this morning. Although she has been acting healthy all day. She has given me the "I'm bored" speech, so I know she must be better. ;)

I'm still here too, just having to lurk when I can. Not much time for posting with softball season, and the end of the year craft projects at work. Luv ya'! :grouphug:

Emily will be purrrrfect as Gertrude! (I love that Emily!)

Wendy - I love that idea. Diapers and a gift. I also love when diapers come with a meal.

Goog evening all and TGIF!!!!!!!

Congrats to Emily!

 Hugs to MommyP. Hope Chad can come home soon. Hope you have a nice shower!

Pumba, we had over an inch of the whits stuff this am but it has mostly melted.

Allie, thanks for the update on Sandy! Hope her finger mends quickly and she does well in her race.

Too tired to type much more right now.

Back later

It was sunny today and tomorrow is OPENING DAY here! Opening day for DS7's, James's, SPRING football season -- his game is at 11:00. And opening day for DS10's, Joseph's, baseball season -- his first game is at 8:00 but we have to leave at 6:30 a.m.(!) to be at the field by 7:15. DS10 gets to be starting pitcher in the second game at 10:00, which is against one of the better teams in the tournament.

I wish it was warmer though. It's supposed to be about 35 degrees at 8:00 and 42 at 10:00 so at least it will be warmer when DS10 has to pitch (I really don't like the kids to throw hard if it's under 40).

DS12's, Jeffrey's, baseball season starts next weekend.

Seriously.

After dinner tonight, my DS15, Jonathan, wanted to lead a short family Bible study. I hate to say it but that was bad enough (I don't mind them, not at all -- again, just the fact that it was the end of a LONG work week and I wanted to chill out). The best line of the night though was when DS10 made a reference to the "Ten Condiments".

Hi, Marita and Rob! Yes, it has been a quiet night.

:laundy: I am trying to catch up on the laundry that is sitting in the washer and dryer tonight, while periodically seeing on TV that MSU is getting whomped :sad2: There will be a lot of mopey people at my office next week ;)

Cute!

Hey Moovers,
Lexi-I am surprised you don't know that WKU went to a Final Four in 1971. Of course, I'm sure they don't talk about that in Lexington too much, since in the Mideast semifinals we played UK and gave them their worst beatdown in tourney history, a 107-83 thumping. And it wasn;t that close. We led by 25 in the first half and it never got under 20. In the FF we lost to Villanova in OT when we missed 2 free throws that would have won it. Then we'd have played UCLA(of course) for the championship. We also played for the NIT championship back in the days before the NCAA championship. Didn't they teach that at FSHS?
CEL, you may resume reading.
UMA, you asked a while back who Martha is. She went with us to Mobile. Martha and I have been friends for over 35 years and have often traveled together for basketball. She's a retired schol teacher and confirmed bachelorette. No romance either way whatsoever.
Tomorrow I get to go to Nashvegas for Glancy's christening. Plus I'm off Monday, so I get some quantity time. Hoping my dad can make it down. I haven't heard yet.
Add San Juan to your list of great S cities. The old fort there is a great place to spend a whole day. We were there just before Christmas one year and it was fantastic. Imagine floating on the Carribean singing Felis Navidad.
Time to head to work. Later.

GOOG MORNING!

It's a chilly start to Spring Break today....31 degrees. Hope Rob and family took the winter gear to the ball park this morning!

DTD...I didn't know that WKU went to the Final Four in '71 because I was just a little child then (barely born) and not following college basketball. But goog to know. Can you believe Davidson won???! And by such a wide margin!

Moo....GO, TAR HEELS! :cheer2: (That's for tonight!)

Allie, Monica, Rob, Wendee, Marita, Moo...Thanks for the congratulations for Emily. I have not seen Seussical but apparently she has a choice part. She says she has a couple of solos. She really has a sweet little singing voice. The kid is such a ham and is the first one jumping up and down with her hand in the air anytime there's an opportunity to get up in front of a crowd. (I, on the other hand, avoid eye contact.)

Joe! I liked the list and was happy to NOT find my town on that particular list. Memphis got picked on quite a bit.

Wendee....I figured you'd be happy that Salt Lake City is the vainest since you want to do the facials/waxing type of cosmetology when Norah goes to school. What better place! ;)

Rob
....Ten Condiments! :lmao: Classic! Write that down somewhere!

OK....so I'll be around off and on for most of the day for your posting pleasure. Saturday is the only day I can DIS whenever I want and no one is ever on. I resort to posting on the restaurant and theme parks boards instead.

Everybody have a great Saturday!
:wave2:

morning everyone..

I had a 14 hour fast .....so had nothing to eat from 5pm last night till JUST NOW........I told hubby get me a bagel at DD .....a huge bagel......Being a diabetic ....the 14 hour fast is hard on me......I get the shakes and start to get stupid.....

still no word yet from Homeland Security if they are going to let Maine be okey.....

We had more snow last night.....not alot ....but enough to make black ice everywhere.....I am glad that it is almost ........ALMOST really spring....not just on the calendar but in REALITY.....

have a good day everyone

Hey y'all. I made it back from Billings yesterday around 3, but this trip wiped me out for some reason. I've been catnapping and reading since yesterday afternoon.

Just wanted to say hi and hope everyone's having a good Saturday.

Hi everyone,

Having a lazy day here, catching up on trip repots (after sleeping in till noon) I had planned to get up by 9 am and set the alarm, but then I turned it off and went back to sleep. I have so much to do. Laundry to fold, more llaundy to wash, finish unpacking the last of the suitcase from our cruise (yes, it is STILL sitting in the living room:scared1: ) And I need to do stuff for work, and get my nails done(which I hate, so I am thinking of postponing it one more week). Yet I am bumlaying and getting nothing accomplished

Hi Cel, welcome home! I hear you on the not wanting to do anything.

Pumba, why did you fast? Was that for medical reasons or you just neglected to eat?

Lexi, hope it warmed up for you.

Have a great day, everyone!

1. Definitely. Stocking hat, gloves, winter coat. I did NOT take my scarf and I missed it. Brrr.... Now we're going back in a few hours and will be there past sunset when it will start to get cold again (it's about 53 outside right now). Kids went 1-1 losing to the supposedly weaker team and beating the supposedly stronger team.
2. Barely born? In 1971? I'm sure you got that confused with 1981 Melinda. ;)
3. Written down. Where were you over the past 15 years to tell me that? I could have written a book, I tell you. (but then, I'm sure we ALL could)
4. I thought you were going to be around for my posting pleasure. Now I'm here and you're gone! Well, FINE, be that way.
