Always?

So if I go to sleep for an hour and then wake up will my week fast-forward too? I need more details on how this works. I am intrigued.

Have I not told you that story? Hmph. Thought I did. Remind me next time we chat....it's a classic.

Schools cancelled because of wind? :confused3
It was well below zero here with the wind chill. Not as cold as what Sandy posted about this morning, but pretty dang cold!!!

It was bad enough that I paid to park at a meter next to my building instead of in my ramp spot across the street today so I wouldn't freeze walking in to work today.

Marita, I'm wishing we were closer to the weekend too. All day long as I work, I can hear my poor, lonely couch calling my name! :rotfl:

Moo, yes, it was goog of Crazybossman to pay for lunch (especially without schlepping along). He really can be a good guy when he wants to be.

BTW, thanks for the open red tile. I did what I could with it............

yeah, the frigid temperatures today equaled indoor recess. aka no time to even eat without the little buggers. I could go for a "it's too cold to go to school day" tomorrow. I guess it's a snow day without the snow.

We had to do mock job interviews tonight. I think I'm having flashbacks. What are your top 5 strengths and weaknesses?

MARITA

  • [*]Analytical: People strong in the Analytical theme search for reasons and causes. They have the ability to think about all the factors that might affect a situation.

  • [*]Harmony: People strong in the Harmony theme look for consensus. They don’t enjoy conflict; rather, they seek areas of agreement.

  • [*]Intellection: People strong in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions.

  • [*]Maximizer: People strong in the Maximizer theme focus on strengths as a way to stimulate personal and group excellence. They seek to transform something strong into something superb.

  • [*]Responsibility: People strong in the Responsibility theme take psychological ownership of what they say they will do. They are committed to stable values such as honestly and loyalty.

This is the flavor of the month here, focus on strengths! Which I like better than focus on weaknesses. My weaknesses are that I hate conflict, public speaking, managing people, and I am sure multiple others;)

This was a test we had to take, picking answers in 20 seconds for a work session.

Wow, Marita, I didn't know you were going to take me seriously!

Hey, I had the results handy, LOL!

The only strength the boss and I share is responsibilty, which I guess is a good thing, so he can handle the things I am NOT good at, such as conflict.

(Marita - bullet points!!)

Like anyone can tell the truth here!

my weakness was working too many hours to individulize lesson plans in order for each child to succeed - or something like that!! (trying to showcase a weakness as a true strength!!)

my real weakness is running and lifting weights, but who wants to know that!!

wait - my real weakness is FOOD!!! :scared1:

BTW, thanks for the open red tile. I did what I could with it............
I knew that you would!

Sandy, way to go on turning a weakness into a strength. I haven't interviewed in years, but I always hated the strengths/weaknesses question.

That's funny because that's exactly what we were being taught to do...choose weakenesses that you can turn around and make into a strength.

That's what they used to tell us too. This latest fad is" "while you can always improve on weaknesses, capitalize on your strengths"

Much better, but I just need to get out of this frigging rat race, period!

BREAKING NEWS!

Remember Tater Miitts? Which got a bad review on some morning show for not removing eyes and having to boil potatoes first?

Well, Jay Leno just demonstrated the CARROT MITTS!!! They can be yours for only $10!

I got some sort of nasty virus that hit me very quickly, and hard. I spiked a temp, had the chills, and felt like I was hit with a 2x4 by an angry gorilla.

That sounds awful, I hope you are taking the proper precautions while dising so not to get us all sick. I'd hate for an angry gorilla to hit me with anything.

Even a wet noodle.

Get better.

Ya Pumba. You are so close!

The wind died down, and the temps dropped big time. It's nipply cold. The air pinches your skin.

Can't wait to walk to class tonight.

Sandy: You are great at lots of things. How's that thread going?

Lexy, Wendy, Twinkie, PJ, BBN, Nab, Moo, Marita, Lil G, DTD, WT, Celery, Lynette, have a great day! (I tried to remember everyone!)

GOOG MORNING!

Wind is gone here too but you could freeze your astarstar off out there. Perfect day for my Sam's Club run. NOT! Got lunch for 200 this Sunday and Super Bowl food for 100. I drafted the intern to go with me today.

Marita....I don't see bum laying on your list? I think they should give you a raise and let you go home and work from there EVERY day! You're more productive at home. ;) Loved the DS comment. Wish it really was Friday already.

Celery....Is your ranch south of Nash Vegas? Maybe we could meet at Rivergate sometime when I'm down that way? Is that a long way for you? Who was the guy that tried to melt your Dr. Pepper with a lighter?? I question his intelligence.

Lynette.....YAY for lunch on crazy bossman!

BigL & LilL....I have windows live messenger here. Is that MSN?? Dad got me a web cam for Christmas and the kids love the video calls.

Sandy....Individualizing lesson plans is a goog thing in my book. DD...is reading the DaVinci Code? Srsly? Doesn't she like juvenile or YA fiction? There some good stuff in those genres. I prefer them actually.

Let's see, we got George Clooney and his Aunt Rosemary, All them Judd gals, The Greatest, the Colonel(feeling hungry?), and both presidents during the Civil War. Not to mention my more well known twin, Hillbilly Jim.
I think THAT list sufficiently trumps David Letterman and John Cougar Mellencamp. Thanks, DTD. I had Happy Chandler on that bonus question too but the crazy nurse beat me to it.

Wendee, NAB, Moo, Monica, Twink, BNCG, MommyP, WT, LilG, and ever-body...:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY!
(it's only Thursday, Marita!)

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!

Lexi...yes, that's MSN. PM me your email. :thumbsup2 As I've mentioned that chat link rarely works for me, but MSN generally does.

1. What kind of cows?!

2. Did you read that Miley officially changed her name to Miley Ray. She was born Destiny Hope.

3. Ummmmm . . . Snappy Tomato??? :lmao:

4. Love your new siggie :rotfl2:

5. I didn't realize how close you live to your parents now :scared1:
1. Oreo cows! Black in the front and back, white in the middle. Heh. Plus various other ones.
2. No I did not. That's weird. Two sisters that live on the same road as me are named Destiny and Hope and they are IN LOVE with Miley. Even though they went to school with her way back when and know she's just a normal person. :confused3 I wonder if THEY know that she used to be named the same as them.
3. Kinda cute, right? It's good pizza and they have this huge one called THE BEAST that is only 20 bucks.
4. Heh. thanks. That WT is a funneeey feeeelller.
5. Within sight. And walking distance. It's vary scary. Would you believe my sister hasn't been up there once? This is a GOOD THING!

Celery,

If you live out in the boonies, it might take a while to get cable for internet. Why don't you just get a second phone line installed for cable? Slower, but it works.
I have to get a FIRST phone line installed, Marita. Us hotT college boys and chicks don't use land lines anymore cuz we're too busy texting. :) They're coming out on Monday to install DSL.

Celery....Is your ranch south of Nash Vegas? Maybe we could meet at Rivergate sometime when I'm down that way? Is that a long way for you? Who was the guy that tried to melt your Dr. Pepper with a lighter?? I question his intelligence.
Yes, south of NashVegas. Sure, we can meet at Rivergate! It's probably about halfway for both of us. Just let me know. And there was no guy with a lighter. WT was telling the same story over and over as if he posted it, Rebecca of sunny brook farm posted it, Lynette, lil G and me. It's on the scrabble thread. It's pertty dern funny.

Morning all!
(HI MONY!)

Where's twinks?

I think THAT list sufficiently trumps David Letterman and John Cougar Mellencamp. Thanks, DTD. I had Happy Chandler on that bonus question too but the crazy nurse beat me to it.

Now hang on a second.

First, of all James Dean is the KING OF COOL, so he pretty much trumps anybody y'all got. AND AND AND Steve McQueen is from Indiana too. Hello? We all know Steve McQueen personifies coolness.

Plus, we have Johnny Appleseed(I included him for Twinkie and her slicing of multiple apples daily), Irene Dunne, Greg Kinnear, Red Skelton, Hoagy Carmichael, John McLaughlin (he was the halftime entertainment at the Colts game I was just at. pretty cool), The Jackson 5 (ok. forget them), Mrs. Brady aka Florence Henderson, Jane Pauley, Larry Bird!!!!, Steve Alford (do y'all even know who he is? probably not, but I have to include him cuz I actually know him. I wish I knew somebody like Peyton Manning instead *sigh*. sorry. rambling) Shawn Kemp, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Fuzzy Zoeller (I included that one for WT. I bolded so you wouldn't skim @@. I've met Fuzzy. He lives close-ish. My brother has played golf with him. moooovin on), John Wooden!!, Orville Redenbacherpopcorn::(for you PJ and your popcorn obsession) , STEPHEN KING(that was for Big L and her hubby), Kurt Vonnegut, Amelia Earhart, and Orville Wright,

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST Colonel Sanders. Oh that's right. Mr. KFC, was NOT born in Kentucky. He was born in Henryville, Indiana.

I've read King's biography and didn't realize he was from Indiana.
Hmm.
So he just likes Maine?

there's all that snow and everything! (that's for you, PUMBA!)

Fine. Stephen King lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana as a kid. He wasn't actually born here. You caught me. I was trying to include somebody cool for Big L, and I knew Stephen King lived here for awhile.

Your consolation prize is you can have Johnny. I'm a nice person, dontchaknow.
