I am losing it.

Wheat Thins

Ack. Argh. Gah. Pfwew.

I don't know what it is but losing it sounds bad. I hope you find it and can spell it. Whatever it is.

Weather is beautiful here. Perfect for golf. Or laundry.

But the most important thing is I survived Trial By Kid Birthday Party. Kinda like Death By Monkeys from Toy Story. We needed 9 birthday gifts this weekend. We also had a schedule that required strategy like a land war in Asia to get all the children to and fro their various social and athletic activities.

Looks like I am going to come in second on the family bracket competition. One of my kids picked Kansas to play Memphis. I don't feel too stupid because at least it was one who can read.

hey all! i'm out for a day or so.

(NINE PRESENTS! Geez, Twinks!)

wt - it's a perfect day to play golf here. Riley and I played catch in the field earlier.

talk to y'all later!

Just wanted to say goodbye! We're off in the morning around 5ish. I probably won't be able to check in until we get back. If anyone wants to give me a call while I'm gone. I'm game. ;)

Fill my PM box!

I'll miss you all!!!

Marita we'll be passing by you around 8am, listen for the sound of a too loaded down expedition with a screaming crying baby and me screaming too. ;)

Yay! Congrats Littleblue!!!!!! I almost missed your post about your good news! How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! Sorry I missed chat last night! I fell asleep on the couch with my laptop on! Awoke at about 12:30 and dragged myself up the stairs to bed.

Did I miss anything goog?

Have a safe trip, MommyP! :grouphug:

Lynette, you didn't miss too much ;) Just the usual kind of chitchat.

We missed you though!

Hi, Peej!!! Goog to see you. Hope things are going well with you.

Hey, Marita. I've just been dealing with some stuff lately. I hope you can excuse my absence. ;)

Peej, I had a pretty low key weekend.

Nothing as exciting as the Twinkie Family's ;)

I'm sad for my daughter's sake that UNC lost, but I'm sure it will make it easier for her to finish her project this week without all that hubbub in the Chapel Hill area . . .

Today's highlight was taking the puppies for a ride to the ice cream place. Then DH called his brother to see if if we could stop by with the pups. His family is puppy sitting for us next month, so we went over there to see how our two and their two dogs get along. It looks like it will be doable for them! :cool1:

Yay on the puppy compatibility, Moo.

My big accomplishment this weekend was getting my nails and taxes (almost) done. Just have to fill out the forms in ink and mail them off,
No laundry, no vacuuming........ oh well

Marita, aren't your chances of getting the rebate check sooner better if you file electronically?

Or does that not matter to you?

I know the smart thing to do is put enough of it away to cover the taxes on it next year :headache:

Moo, doesn't really matter to me right now. Maybe it should, but kind of not on top of my mind at the moment. A $172 refund is not huge.
I already spent my economic incentive rebate on the cruise, LOL,

Hello Moovers! Just back from Nuh-vay-duh, MO this evening. Too tired to post too much but it was a beautiful weekend, DS10's team went 3-1 but failed to make it to the championship game, and I may have gotten my first (mild) sunburn of the season (which, since it is mild, I count as a good thing indicating that "permanent" spring/summer weather is on its way).

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!

Reason: maybe Rob can explain why KU fans yell this, I am not really from around here
They yell it because it is the "school chant". Duh. :upsidedow
Actually, no one seems to know how it came about for sure. The most commonly accepted story is that KU's science club came up with a similar chant ( "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times), way back in 1866, for the then new school. An English professor several years later suggested "Rock Chalk" in place of "Rah, Rah" because it rhymed with Jayhawk and because it alluded to the chalk rock, or limestone, surrounding Mount Oread, the site of the main KU campus in Lawrence, KS.

BTW, I'm ok everybody. ... I'm getting better each day. Have a good weekend.
 That's good to hear, E!

I called around 3 for a nail appt. (which I know I said many times I hate) and got 6 pm. So I took a nap. Now I am starved, but no time to get my new favorite Jr. Whopper and small fries, and I don't want to get it with freshly done nails.
One quick item from the weekend: The closest restaurant to the baseball complex was Burger King (stand alone) and McDonald's (located in THE Wal-Mart -- and in the big town of Nevada, MO, it literally is THE (one and only) Wal-Mart). The Burger King in that city was selling double cheeseburgers for $1 and the McDonald's was selling 32-ounce fountain soft drinks for 69 cents.
BTW, Marita, I double-checked after our previous posting and the everyday price here in KC for Whopper Juniors with Cheese is $1.29.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Why is April the cruelest month? It's going to be beeee-utiful here this week....sunny and 70's. The bluegrass is, well, green, the Bradford pears and tulip trees are in full bloom and the birds are singing. Spring is here at last. God is good.

Spring break is over so it's back to the grind today...for 7 more weeks. So there is an end in sight.

Free dining codes are out!!!
Everybody book for the last week of September! K!?

Marita! Sheesh! Go to the store and buy some frozen dinners or sumpn if you don't want to cook! At least there are veggies in those! I know you're not a big eater but try to eat something good. (I saw that you were the only one with your menu closed in the Beaches/Cream pic on nebo's thread.)

PEEJ & BNCG! We've missed you girls! Hope everything's OK.

MommyP....Have fun in GA!

Moo
.....Did the puppies enjoy the ice cream? ;)

WT
....Great post. Thanks for sharing.

NAB....That Hannah is so cute! I love that kid! Send progress pictures of the kitchen, please. Are you washing dishes in the bathtub?

Rob
...Glad you had fun in Nah-vay-duh. Sorry DS's team didn't win but wear some sunscreen, man!

Twink
....9 berfday presents? :scared:

Lynette
....Now I'm picturing you on the sofa with the laptop on. Were you snoring? Still wearing your glasses? All the lights on?

DTD... Are you hoping to move to Loo-uh-vull for the government job? Appropriate digits crossed.

Everybody else.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
