Narrator: When we last left the stars of our trip report, they were about to board a bus and leave the Magic Kingdom after only having ridden half of the rides in the park.
So, after DH unsuccessfully tried to pull the sword from the stone and I had my necessary photos taken, we decided to head back to the room.
We walked out to the bus stop and waited... about 20 minutes, for the bus.
Then we went back to the room and tried to figure out what to do. We decided to go to the quiet pool that was right nearby.
We changed into our suits and got in... I asked what we should do for dinner... I suggested taking the boat to DTD for dinner but the husband wasn't too excited about that idea.
Just then, a BRIGHT flash of light and a REALLY loud clap of thunder went off right above our head.
The other people in the pool seemed unfazed by the whole situation, but having been a lifeguard, I pulled the husband out of the pool. I wasn't about to spend the rest of my vacation in the ICU because the pool I was in was struck by lightning. No thanks.
So, we got out and went back upstairs. We literally could not have been in the pool for more than 3 minutes.
So, we showered and then discussed dinner again. It was now just after 5.
Then the husband finally made a decision, "We wanted to go to Boatwright's last night and couldn't in.... so why don't you see if we can get a reservation for about 7."
So, I called the dining service and sure enough there was an opening for 7:15. Perfect. We decided that would give us enough time to take a short nap and get ready for dinner.
So, that's exactly what we did. Well... kind of.
The husband laid down and went right to sleep... as I have problems falling asleep, I turned on Disney and watched some Disney short cartoons. I fell asleep around 45 minutes later... which meant I only got about a 15 minute nap.
We got changed and walked over to the main building, where Boatwrights was, we left our room around 6:45 and got there around 6:53.
We put our names in and two ladies who were waiting as well, asked if we wanted our picture taken. OKAY!
They finally called our name around 7:20... which aggravated the DH. He thinks that if you have a reservation for that time, you should get your seat either at THAT time or before..... not after. I was just happy to be eating because I was now pretty hungry.
We were taken to our seat and then had to wait another 7 minutes (my husband always starts the timer on his phone when we are seated to see how long it takes to get our drinks/food/etc.) before the waitress came to our table.
She asked if we were celebrating anything and we told her we were- our anniversary... she congratulated us and then took our drink order and then disappeared again.
A while later she came back with our teas and some cornbread.

Okay... so, this corn bread was the BEST cornbread I've EVER had! It was moist, it was warm and the butter was sweet but not too sweet and was perfect with the cornbread.
She had given us 4 big chunks of the cornbread and by the time she came back to get our food order, we had eaten it all. Seriously, if you DON'T try this at some point, you're doing yourself a disservice.
The husband ordered the Grilled New York Strip Steak:
Brandy-Peppercorn Glace with Yukon Gold Potatoes, Arugula, and Balsamic Vinaigrette
and I ordered the Slow-roasted Prime Rib with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and Red Wine Demi-glaze.

So, we each tried a bite of the other's. O...M...G...
Let me preface this by saying, my mom makes a HUGE prime rib, every year for Christmas... enough to feed about 50 people and it's always moist, tender and delicious.
The Prime Rib at Boatwrights?! Mom's didn't hold a candle to it! THIS THING WAS SO DELICIOUS! It was so tender I could use a butter knife to cut it. The glaze was perfect with it and it was so moist and tender it just melts in your mouth! It was AMAZING!
His? It was cooked perfectly, it was also tender (obviously not as tender as mine) the sauce with his was perfect too... I was afraid it would be too peppery but it wasn't.
The only issue I had with this meal at all? The horseradish mashed potatoes... they were too horseradish-y. Too spicy for me. However the asparagus was wonderful... none of it was woody and it was grilled perfectly.
It was all SO delicious... and there was TOO much.. I had to have a to-go box.
We were so full we opted to not have dessert, but she brought us a picture of Boatwrights that was signed by her and the chefs and brought us balloons and Mardi Gras beads.

It was a nice little way to celebrate our anniversary.
The food was amazing and we were SO full!
We packed up the left overs and then went to the quick service place to grab some plastic utensils so we could eat the left overs in the room later.
We left the food in the fridge and the headed on to the bus stop- BACK TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM!
We got back to the MK around 8:30. We decided to head back to tomorrowland. And we got in line for a ride neither of us had either done before.

The ASTRO ORBITER. Unfortunately the line was pretty long... but as we were getting off of the elevator, WISHES started! This was AMAZING!

and again

and again

Then... we got ON the Astro Orbiter during WISHES... THIS WAS MAGICAL!
Moose and I got our own "orbiters".... and I think I was more interested in WISHES during our flight than he was. Ready to laugh? Turn on your speakers and listen to me flip out on the Astro Orbiter during Wishes!

You can't hear it but the husband is yelling at me to put the camera away and hold on, the whole time.... which is why I only got video going around like 3 times.
Also, DH decided after our trip on the Astro Orbiter that that's a ride you should do BEFORE you eat a big meal, not right after.... he didn't feel so well after that. He kept saying he swore it sped up at the end and went too fast.
I on the other hand, loved it. But, I think that's because I was paying more attention to the fireworks than to the ride.
It's kind of cool to see in the video the Contemporary all lit up... and the Castle all blue... too bad the big planet thing is in the way for part of it.
Then we went over to the Indy Speedway... I know it's the Tomorrowland Raceway, but hello... this is TOTALLY the Indy Speedway... don't believe me?! See for yourself.
The straight away at the Indy Motor Speedway (IMS- hence the giant letters on the pagoda) from when my dad, brother and I went to Indy 500 practice in April.

The "Tomorrowland Raceway":
Other than the fact that one was obviously taken in the day and the other at night.... and the fact that one has bumper cars on it... you can totally see how the Tomorrowland Raceway is modeled after the IMS. Take out the pagoda and it's practically the same thing... well... maybe not EXACTLY... but... whatever.
We opted to go in different cars so we could both drive. So, since we were in the single riders line we got on in a matter of minutes.
Meanwhile- I got an English car.... I drove on the wrong side. And it was SUPER hard to turn the wheel and my left leg got very tired.
Then we moved on to my second favorite ride of the night, the Teacups! This is another ride that DH doesn't like... so I went alone. But I walked right on, so that was great!

The reason why this was such a favorite of mine? Because...I spun and spun and spun so hard that I stopped spinning the middle part about half way through and I still spun until the ride was over. I was spinning pretty good...
You can kind of tell that this picture was taken while I was spinning.

I loved it because when I got off, I couldn't walk straight. It was GREAT!
Then was the barnstormer... DH again opted out on this... but I was fine with that because the "ride every ride" mission was totally my idea... so... I didn't want to pressure him to go on any ride he didn't want to go on. That's okay- the wait was a little over 5 minutes.... knocking the rides down quick now!
There was a little girl in front of me in line... she couldn't have been more than 10... I'm going to say closer to 8. Really. She was telling me how this is her favorite roller coaster and that it's not scary so I shouldn't be afraid. She was taking her mom, dad and brother who looked to be about 17 on the ride with her. She was pretty cute.
Dark picture of me in line for the Barnstomer.
And then we walked around the construction area for the mine train, to the Winnie the Pooh ride. The wait was about 35 minutes... so much for short wait times! Sadly, the line was every minute of that too!
We hadn't been through the new queue yet... and there were some annoying children already playing in the garden area, so the only thing I "played" with was Piglet's door.

However it was really hard to hear Piglet say "Hello? Who is it?" because it was so loud in there... But DH didn't know it actually did anything so he was surprised when he heard anything at all.
New garden queue

I have no idea what this is or does.

Then, on to the ride.

Boy it's windy!

My favorite part of the Pooh ride?
The glow in the dark parts... too bad this is so fuzzy.

By this time it was about 11:30 p.m. Regular hours ended at 1 a.m. and extra magic hours goes until 3.
Rocky & Bullwinkle Narrator: Will our hosts make it that long? Will they get the rest of the rides in? Will something unexpected happen? Will I ever stop asking so many questions?
