Moose & Goose- The 5th anniversary is the Dis Trip Anniversary- Baby Update #2 5/1

CASSEROLE!!!! Nebo will be so proud!!! I will be sure to tell him tomorrow!!!
I can't believe you have never done it!

what does Moose do for a living that he knows all the words?

I can't believe we have never tried the mini corn dogs. nebo LOVES corn dogs. and the hot dogs there lately haven't bee as good as they used to be.

Moose doesn't know the words... the guy working at Casey's, cleaning up, knew all the words.... Mitch.

Wonderful pictures from the People Mover. I love the shots of the castle and you really did get some great pictures of Space with the lights on. I always find it so fascinating to see what the track looks like.

Too funny about the CM who had all the words memorized. I guess that IS an occupational hazard I had never considered before. :rotfl2:

Rocky & Bullwinkle Narrator: "When we last left Moose and Goose they had just gotten off the elephants and were trying to figure out what to mark off the list next."

Per some of your questions, "rides" that are NOT on my list... Hall of Presidents, Swiss Family Tree house or Tom Sawyer's Island... because to me none of those are rides.

I getcha. Like Small World.

Not a ride.
An evil torture device.

And the ferry and the railroad are "transportation", again, not rides.

Then again, I've never done the ferry.
The monorail was just too cool.

So... count with me... there are 25 rides (not counting the aforementioned attractions) total in MK. (I'm starting in Adverntureland and working around clock wise)
Pirates, Tiki Room, Flying Carpets, Splash, BTMRR, Country bears, HM, IASW, Peter Pan, PhilharMagic, the Carousel, Under the Sea, Dumbo, Winnie The Pooh, Barnstormer, tea cups, Speedway, Astro Orbiter, Space Mtn, Stitch's great escape, people mover, Space ranger Spin, Laugh Floor and Carousel of Progress.

hmmmm....

I find it interesting that you'd classify PhilharMagic, Tiki, Bears and casserole as rides but not Presidents.

Okay, so... recap, rides completed?
Pirates, Under the Sea & Dumbo.
22 rides left

Run! You're gonna hafta run!!

People Mover!
Obligatory feet picture:

:lmao: Of course!

I gotta say, I'm REALLY proud of this picture... I thought it turned out REALLY cool!

Oh, dear.

Bad news.
It's upsidedown.

:rolleyes1:

how about a cute couple picture instead...

::yes::

This could probably be a postcard:

There's an app for that.

Here's something I've never seen before... instead of where Buzz normally is, there was a giant black curtain... what's that about?

Well, d'uh! He was probably out signing autographs or saving the world from Zurg.

Hello!

That was a TERRIBLE game! But the reason I got my butt kicked? I fell asleep.

:lmao: That picture is hysterical!

I can't remember the last time I did stitch.

I do!

Never.

After we zoomed through space, Moose said "Okay, we're done with Tomorrowland... what now?" I looked at him like he was crazy.
"We are NOT done with Tomorrowland! We still have the cars and the casserole!"
Now, he looked at me like I was crazy.
"The cars.. okay... the CASSEROLE?!"
I shook my head... "Okay, sorry... it's a Dis thing.... well, a Nebo thing... it's the Carousel... Carousel of progress."
He just kind of sadly shook his head and said "yeah.. it's definitely a Dis thing..."

:lmao: Those Neboisms stick, don't they?

(I know I took a picture... but now I can't find it... if I do find it, I'll come back and amend this chapter.)

You'll have to.

No pic. No proof.

After we found out that there's a great big beautiful tomorrow, waiting at the end of every day,

Nope. Not today.
At the end of today was my midnight shift.

Which I'm on now.

So if my comments are dull, insipid, moronic or insane...

that's why.

I don't have an excuse why all my other comments are of the same caliber.

Moose also knew one of the things left to mark off my bucket list was the mini-corn dogs at Casey's. Can you believe I've never had them before?

Yup.
Me neither.

While I was waiting, I got to hear the piano man... No, not Billy Joel.

Hey! I remember him! He was playing when we were there in '09'!

I found a standing table...

Well, technically they're all standing tables. They have legs.

If they don't have legs, then they're just boards.

And there were almost too many for me... by the time I had 2 left I was full.. but not being one to let food go to waste, I made sure to finish them all.

But you could've sent them to starving children in Africa or India or wherever.

I could never figure that out.

"So if I don't finish this food, some kid in the Sudan will suddenly keel over?"

For years I thought I had some sort of evil magic power.

"Do not tempt me, oh yea fools. Or I shall not finish my stringbeans."

Mitch was saying all of her lines... and ALL the other character's lines with them.
I looked at him and said "I guess that's a perk of the job that you know all the words and songs."
He smiled and said "occupational hazard I suppose. Although, I have no need to buy the Main Street soundtrack because I know all of the songs."

:lmao: Never thought of that, but it makes perfect sense.
You know how it feels when you can't get a song out of your head????

but I've never actually seen the show, as my husband is not one of the shows.

So if your husband is a show you'll watch him, otherwise not.

got it.

Since we were had made our way back around to Advertureland, we crossed the bridge again.

Ooh! That's the new land they keep talking about? Advertureland?

It's nothing but the promise of awesome youTube videos preceded by endless adverts, right?

I think I don't want to go there.

We headed over to the Magic Carpets... where apparently my husband pretended to be a camel:

As this is a family board I will refrain from voicing my first thought.

It involved camels having humps and.....

Nope. Can't say more.

I however, found a GREAT place to watch the parade from. The porch of the Country Bear Jamboree! I got to lean against the railing and no one was directly in front of me.. they were all crowded up by the rope. So, there was no one within about 4 feet of me in any direction and I had a GREAT view!

Nice! :thumbsup2

MOOSE PICTURE! (I felt it mandatory to take a picture of any Moose we saw on vacation... either the one I was married to or otherwise.)

:rotfl:

Oddly enough, one of the bears really reminds us of Moose's grandpa Johnny... the one on the far left. --- The Moose I'm married to... not the one on the wall. I can see that one coming back to bite me later....

Nah. We respect you far too much to make any sort of snide comments here.

<snicker>

sorry.

Thanks so much for reading... and please be sure to stick around for our night at MK.. there's a video I promise you won't wanna miss! DH and I have seen said video at least half a dozen times and every time we laugh at it.... I didn't realize how excited I was when I took said video. ...anyway... that's for another chapter.

See ya real soon!

Sounds like fun! Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

.
And the ferry and the railroad are "transportation", again, not rides.

Well the railroad isn't transporation. It's nothing but tracks which is the road for the train. The train is the transportation.

I do however have a couple of hypothetical questions here.

If you board the train at the "Main Street Station", travel on the train all the way around the park and deboard at the "Main Street Station"; would you still consider this to be a form of transportation? Or a ride?"

What's not hypothetical about this is that there are actually people who do that and call it a ride.

FOR REAL! The Nebo-isms... for whatever reason are like songs that get stuck in your head... once they're in there, they're in there and they're NOT coming out. You just stuck with them. I can see myself sitting in a nursing home 65 years from now going "Ha! Casserole of progress!" I swear I'll never forget some of the "Nebo-isms". Some are just too funny to forget.

Frontier Airlines is running radio ads here in Denver about getting free carry ons when you book online....All I can think of is Nebo and his carrions!

See! CARRIONS! It's what I'm saying! It's NEBO'S FAULT! He's got us thinking like him! OH NO!

Wonderful pictures from the People Mover. I love the shots of the castle and you really did get some great pictures of Space with the lights on. I always find it so fascinating to see what the track looks like.

Corn Dog Nuggets - can you believe I still haven't tried them, so they will continue to remain my my bucket list!

Honestly, they were REALLY good... and actually better than the hotdog I had last time we were there... juicier and just all around tastier.:thumbsup2

Day 2: Chapter 4

Ride count thus far:
Pirates, Under The Sea, Dumbo, Buzz, Stitch, Monsters, People Mover, Casserole, Space Mountain, Tiki Birds, Magic Carpets and Country Bears.
Rides: 12, a little less than half way there!

Rocky & Bullwinkle Narrator: When we last left our fearless leaders, they were nearly attacked by Country Bears and in paraless danger, about to go into a Haunted Mansion!

So, we had just gotten done with Country Bears and decided to head over to Haunted Mansion... this is the first time we had seen the new queue line. Of course I had to play! I really enjoyed the instruments... but the husband wouldn't let me play for long... the line was moving and there were people behind us. He didn't want to lose our spot in line, so I moved... sadly.

one of my favorite parts... the stretching room. I actually swiped a picture from the Disney website and used it as my fb page picture of the lady on the wire over the alligator a few months ago.

Then.. we boarded our Doombuggy... and immediately got stuck.
Seriously.. IMMEDIATELY. Our Ghost host pulled down our lap bar... and we immediately stopped. We weren't even technically ON the ride yet!

yes... it's a flash picture... so I got yelled at by a CM. To which my husband said "YOU ARE SUCH A TROUBLE MAKER!" REALLY loud... and the people behind us started laughing.
He kept fussing at me through the ride because I kept taking pictures and the little orange "pre-flash" light on my camera would still go off before the picture even though I MADE SURE to turn the flash off (after I got yelled at).

We finally got going again... I took a picture of the room where we got stopped last time:

I think MEK was trying to get a really good picture of the floating head... what do you think MEK?

Moving on, got stuck... again... this time just as we were going into the cemetery... and all we had to look at was the roof to the right as you go in. It was boring... and sad.

Once we said good bye to the 999 happy haunts, we went over to my husbands second-least favorite ride...
IT'S A SMALL WORLD!
Which reminds me of the episode of Family Guy where Stewie and Peter go to an amusement park and Stewie gets lost, so they kidnap him and make him part of their ride...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlAlSfxa3lY
So, as we get into the first room, I sing "it's a tiny, tiny world..... it's a tiny, tiny world."

While we were in line for IASW... I got one of these:
Which, I have written in my trip report notebook that this was the third one we'd gotten of the day... I know we got one on Pirates when we first went on.. but I don't know what the other ride was.

Guess what was going on as we were in line:

We got front row... in front of a group of cheerleaders I think... middle school aged girls with way too revealing clothes and they "totally talked like this... right?!"

So, while I was annoyed, I tried to ignore it and be happy that I was on...
The happiest cruise that ever sailed...

I love seeing the sights I will sadly probably never get to see in real life.
Big Ben:

Eifel Tower:

My favorite part... PEN GINS!

I also really like the hippo with the light up eyes and the Don Quixote part... that part always cracks me up... and then makes me sad for those who don't like to read and probably don't get that part.

After realizing how small of a world it is, we decided to get fast passes for Peter Pan because it was a 55 minute wait.. and because THAT is my husband's least favorite ride, he did NOT want to wait in the line for it.

Then since we were close and because it's become a tradition on our trips:

Too bad my husband is not a "big strong man"... that's right... didn't pull the sword from the stone.
Guess that's one thing he can't mark off his bucket list.:headache:

At this point, we decided to head back to the room for an afternoon nap. But I needed some of my traditional pictures taken before we left and I didn't get them taken at all.

Yes.. I know the crown is wrong... the husband took the picture and there was a kid that I kinda scooted out of the way so I could get the picture anyway.

another traditional picture:

As it was about 4:30, we made our way out of the MK... to the bus stop.

At the bus stop, we saw one of my favorite things ever... THE IRON MAN-ORAIL!

Super excited... and a good reminder that it comes out on dvd & blu ray TODAY! I'm TOTALLY getting it on the way home from work today! :dance3:

And then we saw this...

I wanna know how I can get one of these! It would be SO AWESOME... and SO MUCH FASTER to get a VIP Castmember bus... cuz then you'd get from resort to park in minutes flat... rather than wait 15 to 20 minutes for a bus!

I'll tell you all about our dinner... and our evening at MK in the next chapter... like I said in the previous chapter, there is a video of our evening at MK that you DON'T wanna miss! It's cool to watch... and if you listen to it too, you'll probably get a good laugh at it. My husband does.... at my expense... and then he mocks me. So.. YEAH! Don't miss Becca humiliating herself in front of perfect strangers (and consequently all of you now...) coming up!

New ride count?
12+
Haunted Mansion & It's a small world.
14.... eek! :scared: We better kick it into high gear.... hopefully the crowds tonight will be small. (but will they be?)

Thanks so much for reading along!
See ya real soon!

I realize this is "hypothetical"... but even if it's taking you all the way around the park, I think I would still call it transportation.

Ok.

Now, the purpose of transportation is to get you from point A to point B, correct? If we agree on this, then why would Space Mountain and/or Splash Mountain not be considered transportation?

You start at point A (the Queue) and end at Point B (the Gift Shop). Yes, the mode of transportation may be different, but you are still being transported to a different location then where you originally started from.

Then.. we boarded our Doombuggy... and immediately got stuck.

:rotfl2: I actually love this picture which proves that sometimes an accidental flash is a good thing. Even if you did get yelled at I think this picture is so worth it.

Your DH is too funny for trying to tease you! Funny now. Probably wasn't then! :rotfl2:

I think MEK was trying to get a really good picture of the floating head... what do you think MEK?

I love it! Strong work! No flash necessary for that pic! :thumbsup2

As it was about 4:30, we made our way out of the MK... to the bus stop.

I love this picture. I feel like I could just walk right into it and be walking down Main Street at the MK. It has a sort of surreal character to it. Nice!

New ride count?

Haunted Mansion & It's a small world.
14....

OMG. It's a good think I don't count rides or I would be so far off the mark. :upsidedow

Narrator: When we last left the stars of our trip report, they were about to board a bus and leave the Magic Kingdom after only having ridden half of the rides in the park.

So, after DH unsuccessfully tried to pull the sword from the stone and I had my necessary photos taken, we decided to head back to the room.
We walked out to the bus stop and waited... about 20 minutes, for the bus.

Then we went back to the room and tried to figure out what to do. We decided to go to the quiet pool that was right nearby.
We changed into our suits and got in... I asked what we should do for dinner... I suggested taking the boat to DTD for dinner but the husband wasn't too excited about that idea.

Just then, a BRIGHT flash of light and a REALLY loud clap of thunder went off right above our head.
The other people in the pool seemed unfazed by the whole situation, but having been a lifeguard, I pulled the husband out of the pool. I wasn't about to spend the rest of my vacation in the ICU because the pool I was in was struck by lightning. No thanks.

So, we got out and went back upstairs. We literally could not have been in the pool for more than 3 minutes.
So, we showered and then discussed dinner again. It was now just after 5.

Then the husband finally made a decision, "We wanted to go to Boatwright's last night and couldn't in.... so why don't you see if we can get a reservation for about 7."

So, I called the dining service and sure enough there was an opening for 7:15. Perfect. We decided that would give us enough time to take a short nap and get ready for dinner. :yay:

So, that's exactly what we did. Well... kind of.
The husband laid down and went right to sleep... as I have problems falling asleep, I turned on Disney and watched some Disney short cartoons. I fell asleep around 45 minutes later... which meant I only got about a 15 minute nap. :rolleyes2

We got changed and walked over to the main building, where Boatwrights was, we left our room around 6:45 and got there around 6:53.

We put our names in and two ladies who were waiting as well, asked if we wanted our picture taken. OKAY!

They finally called our name around 7:20... which aggravated the DH. He thinks that if you have a reservation for that time, you should get your seat either at THAT time or before..... not after. I was just happy to be eating because I was now pretty hungry.
We were taken to our seat and then had to wait another 7 minutes (my husband always starts the timer on his phone when we are seated to see how long it takes to get our drinks/food/etc.) before the waitress came to our table.
She asked if we were celebrating anything and we told her we were- our anniversary... she congratulated us and then took our drink order and then disappeared again.
A while later she came back with our teas and some cornbread.

Okay... so, this corn bread was the BEST cornbread I've EVER had! It was moist, it was warm and the butter was sweet but not too sweet and was perfect with the cornbread.
She had given us 4 big chunks of the cornbread and by the time she came back to get our food order, we had eaten it all. Seriously, if you DON'T try this at some point, you're doing yourself a disservice.
The husband ordered the Grilled New York Strip Steak:
Brandy-Peppercorn Glace with Yukon Gold Potatoes, Arugula, and Balsamic Vinaigrette

and I ordered the Slow-roasted Prime Rib with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and Red Wine Demi-glaze.

So, we each tried a bite of the other's. O...M...G...
Let me preface this by saying, my mom makes a HUGE prime rib, every year for Christmas... enough to feed about 50 people and it's always moist, tender and delicious.
The Prime Rib at Boatwrights?! Mom's didn't hold a candle to it! THIS THING WAS SO DELICIOUS! It was so tender I could use a butter knife to cut it. The glaze was perfect with it and it was so moist and tender it just melts in your mouth! It was AMAZING!
His? It was cooked perfectly, it was also tender (obviously not as tender as mine) the sauce with his was perfect too... I was afraid it would be too peppery but it wasn't.
The only issue I had with this meal at all? The horseradish mashed potatoes... they were too horseradish-y. Too spicy for me. However the asparagus was wonderful... none of it was woody and it was grilled perfectly.
It was all SO delicious... and there was TOO much.. I had to have a to-go box.
We were so full we opted to not have dessert, but she brought us a picture of Boatwrights that was signed by her and the chefs and brought us balloons and Mardi Gras beads.

It was a nice little way to celebrate our anniversary.
The food was amazing and we were SO full!
We packed up the left overs and then went to the quick service place to grab some plastic utensils so we could eat the left overs in the room later.
We left the food in the fridge and the headed on to the bus stop- BACK TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM!

We got back to the MK around 8:30. We decided to head back to tomorrowland. And we got in line for a ride neither of us had either done before.

The ASTRO ORBITER. Unfortunately the line was pretty long... but as we were getting off of the elevator, WISHES started! This was AMAZING!

and again

and again

Then... we got ON the Astro Orbiter during WISHES... THIS WAS MAGICAL!
Moose and I got our own "orbiters".... and I think I was more interested in WISHES during our flight than he was. Ready to laugh? Turn on your speakers and listen to me flip out on the Astro Orbiter during Wishes!
http://s812.photobucket.com/user/mrsrebeccabennett/media/WishesonAstroOrbiter_zps8682c035.mp4.html
You can't hear it but the husband is yelling at me to put the camera away and hold on, the whole time.... which is why I only got video going around like 3 times.

Also, DH decided after our trip on the Astro Orbiter that that's a ride you should do BEFORE you eat a big meal, not right after.... he didn't feel so well after that. He kept saying he swore it sped up at the end and went too fast.

I on the other hand, loved it. But, I think that's because I was paying more attention to the fireworks than to the ride.
It's kind of cool to see in the video the Contemporary all lit up... and the Castle all blue... too bad the big planet thing is in the way for part of it.

Then we went over to the Indy Speedway... I know it's the Tomorrowland Raceway, but hello... this is TOTALLY the Indy Speedway... don't believe me?! See for yourself.
The straight away at the Indy Motor Speedway (IMS- hence the giant letters on the pagoda) from when my dad, brother and I went to Indy 500 practice in April.

The "Tomorrowland Raceway":

Other than the fact that one was obviously taken in the day and the other at night.... and the fact that one has bumper cars on it... you can totally see how the Tomorrowland Raceway is modeled after the IMS. Take out the pagoda and it's practically the same thing... well... maybe not EXACTLY... but... whatever.

We opted to go in different cars so we could both drive. So, since we were in the single riders line we got on in a matter of minutes.
Meanwhile- I got an English car.... I drove on the wrong side. And it was SUPER hard to turn the wheel and my left leg got very tired.

Then we moved on to my second favorite ride of the night, the Teacups! This is another ride that DH doesn't like... so I went alone. But I walked right on, so that was great!

The reason why this was such a favorite of mine? Because...I spun and spun and spun so hard that I stopped spinning the middle part about half way through and I still spun until the ride was over. I was spinning pretty good...
You can kind of tell that this picture was taken while I was spinning.

I loved it because when I got off, I couldn't walk straight. It was GREAT!

Then was the barnstormer... DH again opted out on this... but I was fine with that because the "ride every ride" mission was totally my idea... so... I didn't want to pressure him to go on any ride he didn't want to go on. That's okay- the wait was a little over 5 minutes.... knocking the rides down quick now!

There was a little girl in front of me in line... she couldn't have been more than 10... I'm going to say closer to 8. Really. She was telling me how this is her favorite roller coaster and that it's not scary so I shouldn't be afraid. She was taking her mom, dad and brother who looked to be about 17 on the ride with her. She was pretty cute.
Dark picture of me in line for the Barnstomer.

And then we walked around the construction area for the mine train, to the Winnie the Pooh ride. The wait was about 35 minutes... so much for short wait times! Sadly, the line was every minute of that too!
We hadn't been through the new queue yet... and there were some annoying children already playing in the garden area, so the only thing I "played" with was Piglet's door.

However it was really hard to hear Piglet say "Hello? Who is it?" because it was so loud in there... But DH didn't know it actually did anything so he was surprised when he heard anything at all.
New garden queue

I have no idea what this is or does.

Then, on to the ride.

Boy it's windy!

My favorite part of the Pooh ride?
The glow in the dark parts... too bad this is so fuzzy.

By this time it was about 11:30 p.m. Regular hours ended at 1 a.m. and extra magic hours goes until 3.

Rocky & Bullwinkle Narrator: Will our hosts make it that long? Will they get the rest of the rides in? Will something unexpected happen? Will I ever stop asking so many questions?

Rides added in this chapter: Pooh, Tea cups, barnstormer, Speedway and Astro Orbiter (5).

Total from last chapter: 14
New total: 19
We're getting REALLY close now!

I'm going to end it here for now. Thanks so much for reading along guy. Hope you enjoyed that chapter.

See ya real soon! :wave2:

How on earth did I miss this chapter??? :confused3
Geez, is it not enough that I check everyday?

So, we had just gotten done with Country Bears and decided to head over to Haunted Mansion...

At first I read that as, "we had just gotten down with Country Bears..."
And I'm thinking, "You go girl!"

this is the first time we had seen the new queue line.

Haven't seen it yet.
Hope to next year.
'til then I'll live vicariously through you, okay?

Of course I had to play! I really enjoyed the instruments... but the husband wouldn't let me play for long...

 I like how he's Moose when he's good and "the husband" when he's not.

one of my favorite parts... the stretching room. I actually swiped a picture from the Disney website and used it as my fb page picture of the lady on the wire over the alligator a few months ago.

Why don't you use it as your avatar?

Then.. we boarded our Doombuggy... and immediately got stuck.
Seriously.. IMMEDIATELY. Our Ghost host pulled down our lap bar... and we immediately stopped. We weren't even technically ON the ride yet!

:rotfl: And you took a pic to prove it, too!

yes... it's a flash picture... so I got yelled at by a CM. To which my husband said "YOU ARE SUCH A TROUBLE MAKER!" REALLY loud... and the people behind us started laughing.

:lmao:

I think MEK was trying to get a really good picture of the floating head... what do you think MEK?

Great shot!

Moving on, got stuck... again... this time just as we were going into the cemetery... and all we had to look at was the roof to the right as you go in. It was boring... and sad.

Too bad. I find I'm happiest when I get stuck on HM... but it's gotta be somewhere interesting!

Once we said good bye to the 999 happy haunts, we went over to my husbands second-least favorite ride...
IT'S A SMALL WORLD!

Wise, your husband is.
yoda.gif

Which reminds me of the episode of Family Guy where Stewie and Peter go to an amusement park and Stewie gets lost, so they kidnap him and make him part of their ride...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlAlSfxa3lY

hmmmm.... I'm at work so I'll have to check it out later... but I think I've seen that one.

Guess what was going on as we were in line:

Don't get that. :confused3 Explain?

We got front row... in front of a group of cheerleaders I think... middle school aged girls with way too revealing clothes and they "totally talked like this... right?!"

Woot! Was Moose all 'trying to look disgusted like a good supporting husband'?

So, while I was annoyed, I tried to ignore it and be happy that I was on...
The happiest cruise that ever sailed...

I'm sorry. Nodded off for a second there.
Did you say you were trying to be happy even though you were on the most excrutiating cruise that was ever inflicted on mankind?...

...womankind...

...personkind...

...people.

I love seeing the sights I will sadly probably never get to see in real life.

Never say never. We were sure we wern't going either And... well, TR in progress!

I also really like the hippo with the light up eyes and the Don Quixote part... that part always cracks me up... and then makes me sad for those who don't like to read and probably don't get that part.

I must ashamedly admit that I've never read Don Quixote and other than "tilting at windmills" know very little about it....

Guess I better read it, huh?

After realizing how small of a world it is, we decided to get fast passes for Peter Pan because it was a 55 minute wait.. and because THAT is my husband's least favorite ride, he did NOT want to wait in the line for it.

That comment about your husband being wise?

Retracted. :snooty:

Too bad my husband is not a "big strong man"... that's right... didn't pull the sword from the stone.
Guess that's one thing he can't mark off his bucket list.:headache:

I don't know if they still even do that or not.

Yes.. I know the crown is wrong... the husband took the picture and there was a kid that I kinda scooted out of the way so I could get the picture anyway.

"the husband" :lmao:

Actually, if he (or you, I guess) had moved just a little, you could've been crowned, instead.

At the bus stop, we saw one of my favorite things ever... THE IRON MAN-ORAIL!

Okay.
That's just cool.

Super excited... and a good reminder that it comes out on dvd & blu ray TODAY! I'm TOTALLY getting it on the way home from work today! :dance3:

I've got a story about it on my TR that's not quite done.

The Ironman part I mean...
well, the TR too, but I meant....

Oh, nevermind.

So.. YEAH! Don't miss Becca humiliating herself in front of perfect strangers (and consequently all of you now...) coming up!

Wouldn't miss that for the world.
Why should I be the only one making a fool out of themselves??

We walked out to the bus stop and waited... about 20 minutes, for the bus.

I'm curious... 'cause I read different reactions.
Did you feel that was a long wait? Or not too bad? Or short?

Just then, a BRIGHT flash of light and a REALLY loud clap of thunder went off right above our head.
The other people in the pool seemed unfazed by the whole situation, but having been a lifeguard, I pulled the husband out of the pool. I wasn't about to spend the rest of my vacation in the ICU because the pool I was in was struck by lightning. No thanks.

I remember when I was a kid wondering what the big deal was.
"What's a little rain? I'm wet already!"

ummm.... it's not the wet so much as it is the fried death from above.

Don't they close the quiet pools? Or is it just the main one?
Don't recall.

So, we got out and went back upstairs. We literally could not have been in the pool for more than 3 minutes.

So... worth it?

The husband laid down and went right to sleep... as I have problems falling asleep, I turned on Disney and watched some Disney short cartoons. I fell asleep around 45 minutes later... which meant I only got about a 15 minute nap. :rolleyes2

"the husband"
How dare he fall asleep when you can't!?! :rotfl:

They finally called our name around 7:20... which aggravated the DH. He thinks that if you have a reservation for that time, you should get your seat either at THAT time or before..... not after.

I agree... but I don't sweat 5 minutes too much.

10 minutes and I'm fuming.

We were taken to our seat and then had to wait another 7 minutes (my husband always starts the timer on his phone when we are seated to see how long it takes to get our drinks/food/etc.) before the waitress came to our table.

Again... Is that a long wait? Or short? Or...?

A while later she came back with our teas and some cornbread.

A while? I need to know exactly how long it was!

Huh. We stayed there our first time on-site and never went to Boatwrights. Now I'm sorry we didn't.

Although, part of me wants to go back to POR again.

(the other part wants to try something new)

We were so full we opted to not have dessert, but she brought us a picture of Boatwrights that was signed by her and the chefs and brought us balloons and Mardi Gras beads.

Nice! :thumbsup2

And we got in line for a ride neither of us had either done before.

The ASTRO ORBITER.

After reading how Moose felt afterwards... I might never try it.

pkondz does not like spinning rides very much.

but as we were getting off of the elevator, WISHES started! This was AMAZING!

Wow! Talk about perfect timing!

Turn on your speakers and listen to me flip out on the Astro Orbiter during Wishes!

:lmao:

Not sure.... were you excited?

You can't hear it but the husband is yelling at me to put the camera away and hold on, the whole time.... which is why I only got video going around like 3 times.

:lmao:

Then we went over to the Indy Speedway... I know it's the Tomorrowland Raceway, but hello... this is TOTALLY the Indy Speedway... don't believe me?!

I do! I've been to Indy a couple times and.... ::yes::

Other than the fact that one was obviously taken in the day and the other at night.... and the fact that one has bumper cars on it...

Ha! Depends on the race. Sometimes I think there's bumper cars on either track.

Meanwhile- I got an English car.... I drove on the wrong side.

Oh! When I started to read that, I thought, "An english car? Aren't they all in english? Are some of them spanish, only?"

Then we moved on to my second favorite ride of the night, the Teacups! This is another ride that DH doesn't like...

Okay, Moose can have the 'wise' thing back.

I really, really don't like teacups.
I rode it once or twice with the DDs, 'cause I'm a dad and I had too... but I was glad when it was done.

The reason why this was such a favorite of mine? Because...I spun and spun and spun so hard that I stopped spinning the middle part about half way through and I still spun until the ride was over.

I'm feeling a little sick, just reading that. :sad2:

I loved it because when I got off, I couldn't walk straight. It was GREAT!

:lmao:
Whereas my sentence would've been, "I hated it because when I got off, I couldn't walk straight. It was AWFUL!"

Aww. Love little ones when they're all 'serious'.

Winnie the Pooh ride. The wait was about 35 minutes... so much for short wait times! Sadly, the line was every minute of that too!

That's a ride that I would never wait in line for.
But I understand you were on a mission, so that's acceptable.

We hadn't been through the new queue yet... and there were some annoying children already playing in the garden area,

Ugh. Children at Disney? Can't we ban them?

:rolleyes1:

By this time it was about 11:30 p.m. Regular hours ended at 1 a.m. and extra magic hours goes until 3.

Good thing you had that 15 minute nap!

Rocky & Bullwinkle Narrator: Will our hosts make it that long? Will they get the rest of the rides in? Will something unexpected happen? Will I ever stop asking so many questions?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say...

no.

To the last question.

I'm going to end it here for now. Thanks so much for reading along guy. Hope you enjoyed that chapter.

I did! Thanks for posting! :goodvibes

How on earth did I miss this chapter??? :confused3

I don't know how you missed it... But I"m glad you found it eventually!

Don't get that. :confused3 Explain?

The clock in the entrance to IASW goes off every half hour or quarter hour, I can't remember... but it was going off as we got in line. When the clock goes off, the little doors open and the little soldiers come out and play a little song

I did! Thanks for posting! :goodvibes

I kinda feel like you're the only person reading Pkonds. :sad1:

Yeah, they are all gone to DLR and didn't take us.

But, we can still soldier on without them. More trip report, please.

Narrator: When we last left our co-stars, they had just finished Winnie The Pooh and had ridden 19 of the 24 rides completed. Will they accomplish their mission?

It's now around 11:30. Regular hours end at 1 a.m., EMH go til 3 a.m.

Will we get all our rides done? Luckily we both had the Disney app on our phones... we checked the lines for the 5 rides we had left. Peter Pan was REALLY long- 40 minutes, Philharmagic was 10 minutes, Carousel was a walk on and both mountains were 20 min each.

Since we were walking towards it, we decided to get on the carousel.

Someone was EVER SO EXCITED to be on it...

During this picture is when I realized the parade was going on and you could see it through the Castle! HOW COLL IS THAT?!
Too bad the ride started just as I went to take a picture.

After the carousel, we ran next door because the lines were short because the parade was going on... Peter Pan was ONLY a 25 minute wait! So we boarded our boats and we were off to England...
I can NEVER get a good photo in here!

Then we went back and did Mickey's Philharmagic, which is one of my favorites. The part with Aladdin and Jasmin is SO relaxing.
Us in our 3D glasses:

It's now 12:45. So, we headed to the Mountains, we got to see this... in the dark it's BEATIFUL!:

It was at this point that Moose looked at his Dis Ap and it said that Splash was going to close at 1 a.m., when regular hours ended.... and the wait time was listed as 15 minutes.
WE BOOKED IT OVER THERE!
When we got there, the CM was putting the rope up....
I explained to her our mission how this was THE LAST ride on our list.
She winked at me and waved us through.
"That is quiet a feat," she said. "Every ride in the park in 1 day?! That's pretty amazing."
:cool1:
That is some SERIOUS pixie dust... she could have very easily said "sorry, we're closed" and that's it... we would have failed.
But.. instead, we got to visit the laughing place. We waited in line for about 10 minutes... not a bad wait!
The husband and I weren't completely sure, but we both remembered the ride being different. It's been years since either of us were on Splash, so we weren't sure- but we didn't remember so much of it being outside.
I love this picture as you can FEEL the movement of the ride in the picture.

We got pretty wet! I'm glad we left this for last... because had we gotten this wet earlier we would have been miserable. But it was still warm and muggy, so it wasn't terrible... and we were headed back to the room in a few minutes anyway, so it was okay.
Then... we walked over to BTMRR! WE MADE IT! With the exception of The Jungle Cruise which was closed for refurb, we had done it! AND...BTMRR was now a walk on.

A little reminder, no dancing on the ride!

We got off BTMRR and I was ELATED! WE HAD DONE IT! EVERY RIDE IN THE PARK... Okay, nay sayers, we didn't do the fairy or the train or the Hall of Presidents (which Moose says you couldn't melt and pour him onto that ride, so... yeah). But, we did all the ones on our list... including some we'd never done before.

So, we walked back through Frontierland.... there was a short line... so we stopped and got ourselves a victory Pineapple Whip and an Orange float... I got the orange float because I've never had one before. I had it with pineapple juice, which was a weird combination.

We sat and people watched for a few minutes while we ate our treats. It was now about 1:15... just into EMH.
However, we wanted to get back to the room because we had another big day tomorrow.... We were going to drink our way around the world.... yeah.. we're crazy. But, it was on DH's Disney Bucket List... so we were going to try to accomplish it!
We made our way to the front of the park. Because I had taken a few pictures on our way out this afternoon, I thought I'd do duplicates in the dark.
You can see the Halloween decorations had been put up already.

We made our way to the bus stop and the line was CRAZY long! They seriously brought 2 buses at time to get all of us out of there... we took up the bus space for POR and for the resort wait space next to that... which they had moved somewhere else, so we could have the room for all the people for POR! We waited through 7 buses! It was INSANE! But, I have to say, there was a CM there with a walkie talkie telling them when to send more buses.
Once we got onto our bus, Michael helped a man carry a stroller onto the bus and the man's wife and three children fell asleep on the bus almost as soon as they turned the lights off. Michael and I stood so the children could sit with their mom.
The bus was PACKED!

We made it back to the resort and walked back to the room. By the time we got back to the room, it was 2:45!
We were glad we hadn't waited any longer to come back to the bus stop because when we got to the front of the line, the line had tripled in size!
I wish I would have taken a picture.. it was crazy!
When we got back to the room we sat on the bed and took off our shoes... Moose had 2 blisters... luckily I didn't have any.
So, on my smartphone, I have a pedometer. How many steps did we take today?
18,358 (roughly 8 miles) .... well past my 10,000 steps goal.
Honestly, because we were walking passed midnight, some from Monday's total should be added to this too.... but I'll tell you what Monday's total was at the end of Monday!
Now, we are done with day 1! Wow! That only took a month! HOLY COW!

Thanks for reading...
That's one thing off of our bucket list! How many others will we mark off?

See ya real soon!:wave2:

Love MK at night, especially late night. Nice pics! We do the carousel pics almost every trip, too!

Luckily we both had the Disney app on our phones... we checked the lines for the 5 rides we had left. Peter Pan was REALLY long- 40 minutes,

I guess for the time of night it was long, but I don't consider 40 minutes "REALLY long".

Still wouldn't wait that long, mind you.

Since we were walking towards it, we decided to get on the carousel.

Someone was EVER SO EXCITED to be on it...

All I see is what he was probably thinking:
"I wuvs my wittle pony. She's oh so nice and pretty. Do you wuvs my wittle pony? I do! I do! I do!!!!"

During this picture is when I realized the parade was going on and you could see it through the Castle! HOW COLL IS THAT?!

Very cool.

Too bad the ride started just as I went to take a picture.

And now I have this vision of the carousel starting with this huge lurch and everyone on board getting whiplash.

Maybe I should send that in to Disney as a suggestion...

I can NEVER get a good photo in here!

Oh, it's easy.
Just ask them to stop the ride and turn the lights on for you.

See? Not so hard.

Awesome Moose arm shot.

:cool1:

I find I keep saying this: "Only at Disney"
You guys were lucky that you checked the ap and had a (typical) great CM!

I love this picture as you can FEEL the movement of the ride in the picture.

I like how everything is motion blurred except for the "No Fishin" sign.

Then... we walked over to BTMRR! WE MADE IT! With the exception of The Jungle Cruise which was closed for refurb, we had done it!

Woot! Way to go!

A little reminder, no dancing on the ride!

:lmao:

Hall of Presidents (which Moose says you couldn't melt and pour him onto that ride, so... yeah).

 I've never heard that expression before.

But, we did all the ones on our list... including some we'd never done before.

Well, I could pooh pooh it by saying, "Well I only wanted to do BTMRR and Space and Splash... so that's all that's on my list...so I did every ride in the park.... that was on my list."

But since HOP would've killed Moose and it probably was a walk-on all day long....

I accept.

So, we walked back through Frontierland.... there was a short line... so we stopped and got ourselves a victory Pineapple Whip and an Orange float... I got the orange float because I've never had one before. I had it with pineapple juice, which was a weird combination.

Whoa. Yeah. That'd be weird.
But good way to celebrate!

We were going to drink our way around the world.... yeah.. we're crazy.

What? I didn't say a thing!

(pssst... everyone else.... watch out for these two. Just sayin'.)

But, it was on DH's Disney Bucket List... so we were going to try to accomplish it!

Seems fair.

Wait a sec.... so you had a bucket list to do all the rides but he refused Presidents?
Now he wants you to help him with his list?

I bet you put your foot down and didn't have a single drink!

Right?

No?

We made our way to the bus stop and the line was CRAZY long! They seriously brought 2 buses at time to get all of us out of there... we took up the bus space for POR and for the resort wait space next to that... which they had moved somewhere else, so we could have the room for all the people for POR! We waited through 7 buses!

Whoa. How long did you stand in line for?

Once we got onto our bus, Michael helped a man carry a stroller onto the bus and the man's wife and three children fell asleep on the bus almost as soon as they turned the lights off. Michael and I stood so the children could sit with their mom.

That's nice of you guys. :thumbsup2

We were glad we hadn't waited any longer to come back to the bus stop because when we got to the front of the line, the line had tripled in size!

OMG.

When we got back to the room we sat on the bed and took off our shoes... Moose had 2 blisters... luckily I didn't have any.

Is there any other place on Earth where you compare tootsies?

So, on my smartphone, I have a pedometer. How many steps did we take today?
18,358 (roughly 8 miles)

 But then again... I'm not surprised, considering how long you were there and how much you did.

Thanks for reading...
That's one thing off of our bucket list! How many others will we mark off?

See ya real soon!:wave2:

I'm guessing you'll mark off the drinking around the world.... or maybe you won't, 'cause you don't remember if you did it or not.

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Congratulations on crossing every MK ride off your list! That is quite an accomplishment. I'm tired just thinking of it. That was nice of the CM to let you on Splash.

Seriously, what a great day!

I've considered Boatwrights in the past (I'm a cornbread lover too) but that prime rib really looks delish and makes me want to search out an ADR.

Great video from Astro Orbiter. The last rotation with the burst of fireworks was perfect!

I'm looking forward to seeing how drinking around the world works out!! ::yes::
