For those eligible, how hard is it to get into one of the Moonlight Magic events with DVC. Are the tickets gone soon after bookings are available or does it take time? Are the events packed to the gill? Worth doing? Or avoid them like the plague? They are like three hours long aren't they? Thanks!!!!!!

The December Epcot event booked up both nights within a few hours. Some bookings opened up as people cancelled but it showed sold out very quickly. Easily worth going to as it's free. We had a great time and the park was not full at all. Of course the lines for rare characters were long but that's expected anytime.

A big thing is that they aren't always announced 11/7 months out, like the upcoming events in January. So it's either you're already going to be in town, or you won't be staying DVC most likely even if you can get down. And if you aren't booked on points you're at a disadvantage for registration.

People have raved about the fireworks at Moonlight Magic at MK for the past 2 years. We have never been, and in January I have a DCL cruise that ends the Friday before the January MM. From the time it was announced to the time of booking, I was able to piece together a 3 night stay at SSR, amazing.

I’ve been to MM at Typhoon Lagoon twice, AK and EPCOT. They have all been fun and worthwhile.

Are the fireworks different?

I thought it didn't matter if you were staying on your points for booking Moonlight Magic. We are going in May and have a week on points, 5 days on cash and then 3 more days on points as we cancelled a cruise but already had plane tickets. The MM event is during the cash portion of our stay. Will I have trouble getting tickets because of that??

Depends on the event. Some of them they let points bookings book first.

My booking day for MM in May at AK is Feb 8, how do I book this event and how early can I do it?

The description says a Disney resort stay. It did not specifically say DVC. I just booked Yacht Club cash stay to go to the one in EPCOT in August. Will we be able to go?
Yes. I thought for one of them they let DVC stays book first, though. May misremember.
