Moonlight Magic at Epcot Dec 2017

Curious as it says to have to sign up in advance. When you get to the park, are they going through a book of papers to find your name, or is it electronic and/or linked to the magic band?

During the first MK events they scanned my band but they also had sheets of paper. We were picking up our bands back in tomorrowland as we had entered the park earlier with regular admission.

At the park entrance & DVC Resorts, they looked you up on a tablet, marked you as checked in and issued the event wristbands.

No, sign ups for the animal kingdom event in early Sept. have not even started yet.
If I remember, they started taking res for MK sometime in December for the Feb dates.

Most likely, 60 to 90 days out from the first of the 2 Epcot events.

We'll be at Saratoga 12/3 - 12/7... it will stink if we don't get into it as that's why we're going. Not much of anything to book on property those few days so I'm guessing everyone had the same idea... unless something else is going on???

That has long been the busiest week for DVC and fills up quick. Nothing out of the ordinary.

If it's anything at all like the events at the MK earlier this year, you will get in. My friends and I were staying off site and had booked the stay months prior to the announcement of the MK events. We weren't planning to visit any theme parks (girls' vacation). I had no trouble registering - the event remained open for a few weeks after the OFF SITE registration opened.

I do not think you have to worry. Just keep checking for the booking dates, register when your date is available and you will be fine. EPCOT can hold a lot of people.

Yep. The website was it's usual mess when booking first opened, and was crashing. They seemed to have the problem fixed about an hour later. Registered for 12/11.

The strange thing is it will let me get tickets for Dec. 11 and I do not have a reservation for that date.
Do they check ??? If people with no reservation can book that might be why it sold out this fast

And now everyone without reservations rushes to see if they can book the 11th...

I called and they said yes it is sold out for Dec. 4
They said they will begin double checking reservations and anyone without a Dec. 4 room will be canceled so I might be able to book sometime this week and before open booking begins

I did not book for Dec. 11th because we will not be there but wanted to see and informed member services that this might be a problem.
I sure hope they do look at the reservations to confirm that everyone that booked is staying on property that night
