My husband and I are planning a long weekend camping trip without the kids in early June. Anyway, I was reading everyone else's posts about the Charlottesville area-great info! We are planning on camping in Shenandoah National Park (tent camping)-I think- and seeing Luray Caverns, hiking some trails and seeing Monticello. Both of us are really enjoying even looking at that website. For those of you that are veteran Monticello people, do you think that this will take more than one day to see? It looks like there is alot to see. TIA!

While I wouldn't call myself a veteran, I have been to Monticello. We were only there a few hours. We toured the main house and walked around the grounds. It was a nice afternoon. I understand it can get crowded sometimes, but we only waited in line for about 30 minutes to tour the house when we visited. The view of the area is beautiful up there. Have fun!!

Thanks, Tina! While looking at the website-it was so detailed that I was afraid that there was so much to look at, it would take more than a day. I'm trying to decide if I want to plan another excursion besides Monticello and Luray Caverns. If Monticello took more than one day, I wouldn't plan a third location.
Thanks again!
Deb :woohoo:

We were there several years ago and spent the afternoon. Unless they have added a lot since we were there, you can do it in a day. We enjoyed it!
