Monthly Assignment Ideas Thread

I look forward to participating in these assignments. Great idea.

Sounds great. Looking forward to it.

I would love to join in.Sadly I haven't had my camera out of AUTO mode and I have had it..OH almost 4 years :( Sad huh!!!

Well that's just great..... I was really looking forward to this but with Jeff now being involved I'll never have a chance to win!!!!

Thanks Jeff :rolleyes1

Now all we need is Mark to join and we will all be done......

No worries, Dave, as it won't be a contest! :thumbsup2

Kyle, thanks for your "blessing". :goodvibes

Get ready, I might start it tomorrow so we can all get started!

I would love to participate. I still have alot to learn
and am looking forward to that. This time of the year is very
hectic for me, but I will try to participate as much as I can. I
think it sounds great.

I would love to do this too. I need to get some practice with my camera. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have a new SLR to play with and learn! This would give me some things to play with.

hey I would like to participate one I am relatively new to photography and I got a Nikon d40 and have not used it much :( and also it would be so much fun!!!

Thanks Linda for doing this! It sounds like a great idea and it'll get me out using my camera more.:thumbsup2

Well, I was lurking on this thread, but if I publicly say that I'm going to participate, then I'm committed!:goodvibes I think even those of use with point-and-shoots can learn something, as long as our cameras have some kind of settings other than auto.

(P.S. - are you going to resurrect Andy's water drop challenge from a few years ago? I'll never forget that one - I don't know how many nights I spent at the bathroom sink until I got it right!;))

I can't wait to participate! Thanks for organizing it, Linda.

I'm game...or at least I'll try to be. It's been busy around here lately.

Some suggestions for really challenging subjects:

1) Underwater caves (natural light only) - when dark rides just aren't enough of a challenge.

2) Nanotubes - when macro just isn't small enough.

3) Solar flares - Put those ND filters and super telephoto lenses to good use.

4) Copying other people's pictures - There is too much emphasis on creativity. Let's have a lesson in plagiarism. Extra points for removing watermarks.

I'm game!! Let's take a DIS field trip for #3!! (Don't forget the sunblock.) :headache:

I'm sure we can come up with an especially challenging assignment just for you, Mark. :thumbsup2

I'm all for it. I got a Sony AE200 last year and still can't figure out how to use it. Maybe if I got some tips here, I would be able to figure it out.
I'M THERE!:thumbsup2

I'm definitely in! I was looking for a local photo club to join, but honestly with my schedule (single mom and going to school, working full time) I just can't commit to a club. But this I can do!

I have had my Sony A350 going on 3 months, and I have been scheduling outings just so I can use it. I would love challenges every month to work on new techniques or styles. I am absolutely in love with the camera and enjoy every minute it is in my hands, whether the shots turn out or not. This weekend includes a trip to a zoo and conservatory to shoot and hopefully I get some good shots again.

Looking forward to seeing what the group comes up with each month!
