Month of March 2010 - WISH Walkers and Runners Training Thread

After the past nearly two weeks of dealing with chest congestion, tonight's run proved it's time to say "No mas"... I'm seeing a doctor ASAP.

Ran a solid and hard 3+ miles, but by that point, I was starting to get an uncontrollable cough, and taking any deep breaths was near impossible. Would have liked to run for much longer (legs are feeling fine!), but it wasn't happening.

Jackie - Great job on the PR's!

Timmac - hope you're feeling better soon. Take care of yourself!

Lily - Hi!

I'm working on getting ready for Indy. Haven't done a whole lot since Disney. Been sporadic. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be at the Rutgers half. My niece's bridal shower is early that afternoon. Also don't think I'm gonna make it out to DL for the 1/2. I'm kinda bummed about that. No coast-to-coast medal this year for me.:sad2: Had a couple medical procedures and the new co-pays with my health insurance were higher than I anticipated. There went my DL money. Guess I'll be racing close to home this year. Indy will be my away race this year.

Tim- Take care of that congestion.

I did pretty low miles last week after the National. One of my calves was a little tight. Not really painful but just not right so I did a couple of short runs and iced it a lot. I think all the walking around DC after the half was a bit much this early in the year. I went out today and did 5.5 and felt better.

I ended up signing up for the Sunburst 10K in South Bend again this year. I am not a Notre Dame fan but both last year and this year I managed to talk a couple of friends into coming and doing the run. Both are not runners (one was in HS the other was a very over weight offensive lineman until the last few years) but they are Notre Dame fans and finishing on the field was motivation for them to do the run.

I have a couple of 5Ks this month (well, April) along with the Hermes Cleveland 10 Miler before Indy. I'm still hoping for something below 87:30 for Indy as long as the calf stays alright.

Tim - Take care of that. SOme nasty stuff has been going around. Get those lungs checked.

Frank - Glad you are feelign better. Yes, post-race walking can be murder in some cases. After ToT, I had a hard tiem because of all teh park walking. Funny, marathon has never given me tha tproblem. MAybe doue to teh speed (or lack thereof) I walk at after marahton. ;)

Maura - Yay for teh ego boost! Love thonse!

Paige - Welcome!!!! I'm not fast either. Just a finisher.

Jackie - Way to go on the b2b PRs!!! You tock!

Terri - Good ot see you! Hope things get easier soon! You've had it rough the last few years.

Jeremy - I'm torn on your plan. I think I might add an 8 then 6 just before your 10. Doubling a 10 seems liek trouble, but htat's just me.

Nothign much here. Still trucking. Had a good 8-miler last weekend. Best I've felt since Princess. Yay!

Time for a new month! I had a great workout last night, so am feeling extra motivated. ;)

Here's the new thread.
