Megan: I'm only now reading your post about your grandmother. My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm hoping everything turns out well, and was glad to hear that things seem to be looking up and you've been able to get your runs in. I'm sure they help you manage the stress.
Mel: I'm doing a 4/8 this weekend, really nudging it up there. Hah! I started early because the Baltimore 1/2 is supposed to be hilly, and I might as well try to train hard for it. You're basing your training on Hidgon's Intermediate plan, right? I or II?
Mooshu: I've been working on projects with DOOD, followed by a never-ending visit from the parents.
Katie: I'm not sure hilly and good go together for me, at least in terms of a race.

But I'm just going for the 1/2 and I do train in Pittsburgh, so I keep telling myself Baltimore will be fine. I'm horribly jealous that you're doing the RftT! I also like your attitude on your SRs, how they will make your LRs go better. I tend to treat SRs as disposable, and I should know better. Good luck on this weekends 16 miler.
Kim: Great job on your 10+ mile walk. My hands do the same thing, getting puffy in the heat. How do you deal with it? Oh, and you and me...the party at the back of the back, where we all make the most of our entry fee!
Chrissy: Oh, it's rough when you lose a running partner, I'm sure. I train alone and at first I found it tough, but now I love it. It gives me a chance to get away from it all. I understand that's not for everyone, though. Katie has give you some great advice. You might also try asking trainers at your gym (assuming you have one) if they know of any groups. Or your local running shoe store.
Michelle: Are you in taper for the DL 1/2 yet?
Erica/zakismom: Wow, that's a full running schedule. I like your logic about training and earning the bling at the same time.
Chris: Great news about DW's training. A program will help, I think. I hope she's not pushing it too much, too soon. Yours seems to be going swimmingly, as well. I feel as you do, the training just doesn't stop. On good days that's a comfort. Wish I could help you with the eating. I like to eat too much, I think.
Tracy: I'm glad your PT seems to be working and your shin is feeling good. Don't start wogging too soon. Any news on your townhouse?
Casey: That's right, you're a skirt lover. What's your favorite brand? I'm on the lookout for more stuff to wear, and keep thinking I can be convinced to convert to the skirt. (Sorry, guys, if this discussion bores you. Perhaps we'll start a thread dedicated to women's issues.

)
Terri: I hope you got good news on your MRI and can begin training soon--but better to know what the situation is early in the Goofy game plan, right?
Alicia: Welcome to WISH!

So glad you found us, and I know the princess thread is a warm, welcoming, and active place (impressive given how far away the race is). Your training will fly by, and I hope you feel free to drop by other threads as well. Good news on your your new shoes--my feet felt must better once I was fit properly.
Frank: Good luck with your races tomorrow! I'm impressed that you can shift around your LRs like that, and am looking forward to reading your RR. I'm sure you're going to break that 90 minute 1/2 mark and then on to BQ.
Judy: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your work situation. But I have to say, I admire your outlook. I, too, would focus on BLT. (And if that makes us both strange to folks here, on the DIS, then all hope is lost.

)
Lily: Your evening walks sound lovely!
Kara: Congratulations on complete your 9 mile run without a MP3 player--and under pace! What a great feeling to know you can hit that 13:30 pace without your player. You're one tough cookie and you earned that rest/rehab day.
Pat: Thanks for the reminder of the importance of XT. Mine tends to fall by the wayside during training but, like you, I've promised myself to do better for this year's Goofy. And to post here more often, too. Jinx!
JeninGA: You sound like you've made the decision that I recommend--to go for it! I love that you're approaching it as an opportunity to at least up your XT. But I think you'll do it and be able to approach it as another opportunity to have fun. Plus, maybe you and Lynnda can hang out. What a great opportunity!
Ronda: I think your bike commute is a great way to XT before and during your marathon training. I do a RW, good for my wonky knee and my mental state, and my time is actually faster than if I run without walk breaks. I think your mileage is fine right now, but I'm focusing on the Goofy so I'll defer to those with more half-marathon experience. I can confirm with your time starts when you cross the mat. (Speaking as a 7:00 marathon finisher last year, working with a recovering back injury.)
Diane: Great news on the core workouts. I know my core is always my weak spot. It'll make a big difference in your performance and how you feel afterwards, too! Yay for pushing yourself on the TM work and then moving on to your core training--your intervals seem to be a good decision, too! I predict a strong training/racing season for you.
As for me: My parents visited this week, which meant I had a sort of spotty workout week, XT-wise. I did manage to get my runs in, which I tend to prioritize over XT, including my 6 mile tempo run yesterday. This weekend is another B2B run. Woo hoo! Right now, DOOD and I are trying to synchronize our LR schedules. Why, I don't know.

I think we're more interested in taking rest days at the same time. (I'm waggling my eyebrows right now.)
