I think I know the answer, but I'll ask...

Does anywhere in WDW serve the Monte Cristo Sandwich like they do at POC in Disneyland? I checked menus and it looks like one of the places at POFQ serves something similar but it was not sprinkle with powdered sugar and served with blackberry jam.

Thanks

That is what I thought. The receipe is in the new Disney cookbook, but it looked like a lot of work. Guess I'll have to make it myself if I want it again.

Thanks for the quick response.

Isn't a Croque Monsieur simular to a Monte Christo Sandwich. They offer a wonderful sandwich on the lunch menu at Chefs de France - Epcot.

I think Columbia Harbour House used to have the Monte Cristo, but dropped it many years ago. I had an MC at Blue Bayou at DLR last year and LOVED it. :earsboy:

No, the one at Disneyland has a batter on it and is fried. They dust it with powdered sugar and serve it with a blackberry jam. It's only served in Disneyland at the Blue Bayou. It's what the Blue Bayou is famous for. :)

Town Square Cafe (now known as Tony's) used to serve Monte Cristos blackberry jam and all. I never ordered one as each time I thought I would finally try one, it just sounded too rich! :earseek: Probably just as well because now I would be missing them from all reports!

OMG I wish I never read this thread. This sounds so good and I'm dying to try one.
There used to be a monte Cristo Sandwhich very similar to this that was at a restaurant in our area but that was quite a few years ago.I hadn't thought about it again until now.

Going to Disneyland next weekend and made PS for BB during lunch just so I can have the sandwich.

I had one at Town Square on my Honeymoon 31 years ago this May. I have been trying to find it again ever since. Some restaurants in my area have it on the menu, but it is just a ham and cheese sandwich on French Toast. I quess I'll have to go to DL if I ever want this great sandwich again.

The restaurant chain Bennigan's also makes these, except they're served with red raspberry jam instead of the blackberry. :)
